I had a sudden realisation that I have never before written about myself on this blog. Not that I'm one to be vain, but a few details might be nice.471Please respect copyright.PENANAKlORIYivjT
Here's 10 things you may (or may not) want know!471Please respect copyright.PENANA3Relg0VRp2
1) I think it goes without saying that I am possibly the biggest history geek you will ever meet. Anything medieval or ancient is right up my street. The Wars of the Roses and medieval England is probably my favourite of them all, but I have (and always will have) a soft spot for ancient Egypt. Ancient Rome & Greece too are areas of fascination, Rome especially (insert heart eyes emoji here).
2) In a similar vein, I always love the villains. Cesare Borgia, Julius Caesar, King John, Richard II... there's something about a long-dead baddie that I love.
3) But I am also a strong Ricardian. Dedicated to rehabilitating the name of Richard III, I am a member of the Richard III society and wear a tiny white rose pendant around my neck on an almost daily basis.
4) Leonardo da Vinci is my most favourite historical figure of them all. Joint second place is Anne Boleyn and Richard III, and third place is Cesare Borgia.
5) My favourite book of all time is either The Three Musketeers or the sequel, Twenty Years After. The last in the series, The Man in the Iron Mask, would probably be my favourite but it reduced me to a blubbering mess and so I prefer to stick to the first two in the series.
6) Horrible Histories is quite possibly the best TV show ever invented. Literally. The best thing. Ever. (The first two series are on Netflix. You're welcome.)471Please respect copyright.PENANAw06rxrqrew
7) Apart from HH though, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Once Upon a Time are my two top favourite tv series. I like to think I'm a bit like Giles from Buffy... but in reality it's probably Xander...
8) I am a huge animal lover. I have a beautiful tuxedo cat called Felix who is my ultimate precious baby, as well as a border collie puppy who just reached her four-month birthday last week. I like to send pictures of my fluffy preciouses to people when they're sad so if ever you're in need of a puppy/kitty picture hit me up.
9) I love to travel. Wherever we can afford, my friends and I will have at least one holiday a year. We have been to Portugal, Dublin, Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Zagreb, Venice, Florence, Rome, Geneva and in just under three weeks we're off to Ljubljana in Slovenia. We're also in the middle of planning a trip to America for next year where we're hoping to visit San Francisco, Los Angeles and Hawaii.471Please respect copyright.PENANAXcqswZANwk
10) I love rock music. Although you probably wouldn't think it by looking at me, I was huge into the emo/rock scene when I was 16/17 (and let's face it, I still am!). My favourite band was Lostprophets (but we won't talk about that...) followed by the absolutely incredible Young Guns. They're a relatively small band from High Wycombe, and are the most lovely, grounded guys I have ever met from a band - and I've met quite a few. No other drummer would ever leave his dressing room after a set at a festival and come to the barrier just because the security guard had told him three girls were shouting him throughout the whole thing, but Ben did and he brought us signed setlists and drumsticks. The singer Gus also recorded me an adorable valentines day message on my friend's phone since I couldn't make the show down South and it is probably my most treasured e-possession. So yeah... go check 'em out. Their latest album Ones and Zeroes is phenomenal, and Bones (from the album of the same name) is a right old banger.
So there ya go. Feel free to comment with a few things about yourself!
