Sylvia, you have a life saving people. I'm a mentally unstable kid who will never be able to do much for anyone in my life. Taylor, I'm sorry we couldn't hang out, you sound like a really sweet guy. I can go to heaven now, though. See my granddad again. Be happy, be fixed. I'm ready to die. -E
Sylvia held a hand to her mouth. This girl, willing to die for a stranger for the simple reason that she was a cop? It was unheard of to Sylvia! And yet here she was, a girl with the stones enough to face down death to save another's life. Tears streamed down Sylvia's face when the radio crackled and a high soprano voice came on, praying. "'Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.'" The voice took a shaky breath. "O-okay. I'm ready."
BANG! A girl screamed and started sobbing, and the sound cut out. Sylvia was sobbing, herself, assaulted by memories.
A man who was unstable and truthfully a danger to those around him had died, and the world was a little bit safer because of it. Didn't the people bawling their eyes out understand that? He was dangerous.
Sylvia swore then and there, she'd never cry over something as inconsequential as a stranger dying.
She was breaking that promise now, though. She was hopelessly sobbing, tears streaming down her face. She couldn't believe that someone had just died to save her life. "SHE WAS JUST A KID!" she sobbed. "SHE WAS JUST A KID! SHE SHOULDN'T HAVE HAD TO DIE!!!" she broke down until her chest was heaving out each breath of precious oxygen she retained. The pain in her chest was unbearable, and it was all her fault that this girl was now dead. I will kill you, O. I will kill you and resuscitate you just so I can kill you again! -Sylvia
