“What?” I shake my head, utterly perplexed.
“Oh, no! Meteor ate a burger and now he’s slowly becoming a murderous human zombie bent on evil and crime and even his kisses are criminal. That's what she meant by his eyes.” She shrugs. “But that’s just a rough translation. Another one would be that Meteor is actually a fluffy rabbit from the planet of Rodentia. The first one makes more sense.”
“Ya think? We gotta go get him before he does any more lasting damage to that girl’s sanity.” I run out the door, shouting over my shoulder. “Call Star to meet me at his room!”
I stop in front of the chained portal. Star pulls up short right behind me. I draw in a quick breath and knock. Meteor, shirtless, opens the door. I see the tattoo that Asteroid says he got. It’s just under the right side of his clavicle, where his shirt would normally cover, and it says, in neat black calligraphy, Asteroid.
Even with the horrible mind controlling burger ravaging every cell in his body, he loves her.
“What?” He growls. I quickly jab him with the same sedative I just injected his girlfriend with, but he goes down a whole lot slower. In fact, so much so that he actually punches Star in the gut and me in the cheek before he goes down. While Star tries not to lose his lunch, I drag Meteor into the belly of the Orion.
Down there is hardly anything, except for a small dungeon cell. I carefully lay Meteor onto the bunk, give him a reversal, and run out the barred door, barely locking it before he lunges against the bars. I hold my hand to my cheek and pull it away, scared at the sight of my blood. I go to the medical wing, pick up some gauze, tape it to my cheek, and go back to my room.
I find Constellation gently telling Asteroid what happened, even though Asteroid was the one who figured it out. She stands up when she sees me.
“Can I see him? Where is he?”
“I can't tell you or take you to him. You'll never forgive me.” She just breaks down crying on the floor, begging me to take her to him. I finally break and agree to in the morning, knowing she will probably send me back to the place I came from.70Please respect copyright.PENANAxa5oKv5VFB
