As Meteor kisses me again, we hear the comms system crackle. I hear Star’s voice through the speakers.
“Calling all love-birds!” I turn to Meteor.
“I guess that’s us.”
“Yup.”
“Meet in the leisure room for a dance party at precisely nine fifteen! Doors open exactly then and close at nine sixteen. Oh! And for the first couple, there are door prizes!”
I turn to Meteor. “If we don’t hurry, we’re gonna be late.”
He responds by pulling me closer and whispering, “Just let me beat you real quick.”
I tilt his face towards mine and kiss him. “Come on, hotshot. We can do a slow dance and you can kiss me on the dip.” He willingly agrees, so we stroll hand in hand towards the leisure room. We get there right at nine fifteen, and Star is standing there with the door prize. It’s a little model rocket of the Orion with a remote control. I resist the urge to laugh when I say, “Thank you, Star. What kind of dance party is this?”
“Slow dance. You know, the waltz and such. Have fun!”
On the dance floor, Meteor takes my hand and inquires, “May I have this dance?” Some romantic music starts up as I reply.
“Always.” He twirls me around the room, and I get lost in pure, innocent bliss. The music picks up the tempo slightly, and then, we are lost forever in our own, perfect world. Eventually, the music starts preparing for the final crescendo, so Meteor twirls me one last time, then, he dips me. As he’s dipping me, he leans over and kisses me. It’s the most wonderful day of my life.
When he breaks the kiss, he whispers, “Stay with me always?”
I answer by tilting my head up and brushing my lips against his own. Then, I speak. “Does that answer your question?”

After I announce the dance party, Meteoroid almost instantly shows up at the door. I hand them the door prize and tell Constellation to hit the music.
“Dance with me,” I murmur to Nova.
“Ok.”
The music is slow and steady. I see Meteor rapidly twirling Asteroid around, and she is loving it. I spin Nova, and she giggles, and looks me in the eye. The final crescendo is quickly approaching, so I attempt to psyche myself up. The music pauses, and Meteor dips Asteroid, so I dip Nova.
“I hope you don’t mind,” I whisper. Then I kiss her. For a minute and a half. All she does is pull me closer, deeper. I lean back and whisper, “Poor Constellation. She doesn’t have a boyfriend.”
“But I do, now.”
“And I have a beautiful girlfriend.” I reply, kissing her again. She just leans farther into it.

“Hey you guys! Let’s watch a movie!” I suggest.
My gorgeous girlfriend asks, “Can we watch Attack of the Earthlings?”
“Anything for you, Beautiful.” So we all settle down on the giant couch to watch the movie. Somewhere in the middle, Asteroid’s head feels a little heavier on my shoulder. I look at her and see that she has fallen asleep. I cover her with a blanket and wrap my arm around her. When the movie is over, I pick her up and carry her to her room. She doesn’t even stir. I lay her on the bed and cover her with the comforter. After I make sure she’s comfortable, I lean over and place my lips on hers. I stroke her hair for a minute or two, then I kiss her cheek one last time and leave. Star is waiting outside the door.
“How long have you been standing there?”
“Oh, I just got here. I saw that, by the way” He smirks.
“What?”
“You really love her, don’t you?”
“Yeah. She’s the best thing that ever happened to me.”
“We’re almost to Earth. Nova just activated the invisibility shield. When we get the dumb recipe, can’t we just send it to Scallanos? I mean, we don’t have to go back.”
“Hey! You might be onto something! If I can rig one of the teleport buttons to materialize at Scallanos, we never need to go back! We can go to Earth for supplies and stuff.”
“I’ll ask Constellation and Super Nova. You get Asteroid.”
“Super Nova?”
“I might have kissed her on the dip.”
“Yes! Good! That’s awesome!”
“Yeah, she kissed me back, too.”
“Great! But we should get to bed. Long day ahead of us. With the burger and stuff.”
“And by stuff you mean girlfriends?”
“Yup.”
“Sweet.”
Instead of going to bed, though, I go back into Asteroid’s room and sit on her overstuffed chair to sleep.92Please respect copyright.PENANAHjUM1ewjY9
