That's it. That's the prompt. I thought it will be cool to see what people made of this. It would be just too great to read anything based off of this prompt.

Slips of tongue happen more often than we like to admit. These kinds of things make stuff embarrassing for us at that moment but also create a rather funny story. Slips of tongue, mistranslations, and stuff like that are rather interesting to read, or hear, as long as we ourselves are not the ones making a fool out of themselves. 

I want you to write a story relating to these verbal errors. May it be a character making a fool out of themselves, or a small mistake that turns everything upside down, or a totally absurd mistranslation, anything connected with our unintentional errors.

For this contest, I want you to take the image below and create something with it. A story. A quote. A song. A poem. Any form of art you wish. Here is my example, it came to mind the first time I saw this picture:

As I jumped and skipped in the pouring rain, I knew people around me enjoying the sunny weather. All of them under their dimly lit umbrellas, seeing an imaged sunny day. You may not know but, the world has changed. It rains everyday without end. We’re lucky to see a sunny day. People started to complain, get lazy, and slow go into depression.  So, in response, scientists created an umbrella that creates an image the holder wishes to view. It was created for the greater good but also as an experiment. Everyone in the world received one of these ‘wondrous’ umbrellas. I did was well, and you would consider me an outlier in this experiment. I tried it and within the first second I threw it into the back of the closet. I didn’t need an umbrella to enjoy life. I could see it with my own eyes. Rain falls everyday, just like everyone’s hopes for a sunny day. I didn’t lose my hope, I never had to have hope. I had all I needed. A light, even if these clouds brought what everyone else saw as a darkness.

I never understood why, I still don’t. But, it doesn’t matter. Life can continue to pour down on me but I’ll never coward away. I’ll always stay out, taking anything and seeing it as a light. Even if no one else sees it.

That's just my example, I just want your response or thoughts to this picture in a form of art.

This is more of an experiment than anything, but I'm curious to see how it goes.

The first contestant will be given a prompt. The goal is to complete the prompt and create a new one at the end of your submission for the next contestant. This is not a serial contest! The prompts and submissions don't have to have anything to do with each other. They can be three random words, or a line of dialogue, or a setting, character, and item. The prompt you create for the next person can be anything, but please keep all submission less than 500 words! I want to see how many people we can get to participate. :)

First Prompt:

This was not at all what I imagined Hell to be like. Fire, brimstone, wails of the dead? Sure. But...this? This was just ridiculous.

Create a battle scene. It can be from a bigger war scenario, or just a background game with nerf guns and lightsabers. It could be a futuristic battle or rewind the action back to the medieval times. It can be as bloody and violencey as you would like it to be, but do not make it gory just for the hell of it. And have fun!

Okay, let's start off with I'm bored. My most recent contest was a flop, because it was hard, and I'm left with nothing to grade. So, here's a silly, stupid proposal. Make me a bribe.

Yes, you heard what I said.  Bribe. As in give me something that I would want so that you can win. Well, not exactly. The way this works is you describe the best, most interesting, thoughtful, and realisticbribe possible. Don't forget it has to be realistic. Do not offer me a million euros in silver bullion. Do not offer me world peace. It has to be something that youcould give me, but I do not require you to make good on your bribe. Just realistic fiction here.

In simple terms, make up a good fake bribe. That's all. And because bribes are beneficial to the receiver, you can write unlimited entries. Unlimited proposed fake bribes!

So, are you ready to start fake bribing me? 'Cause I'm ready to start reading your tantalizing offers. Judging after four weeks from November 20, 2016. Go.

The world is ending, things are falling apart around you. You turn to the person closest to you, be it your lover, friend, a family member or total stranger. In that moment, just before oblivion you mutter these words....

Basically, to sum up my dramatic opening, write a sentence or two of the things you would say if you knew your life (and the world)was about to end in a few moments time.

Try to make it as interesting as possible! It can be serious, funny or even just plain stupid. Have at it people! No more than one paragraph and three entries please~

In honor of October, Halloween, and unlucky thirteen, let's have a thirteen word story contest! I know. Six words is just few enough to make an oomph, and ten sounds too tame. But what about exactly thirteen? Sounds, haunting.

So, write a story with exactly thirteen words, no more, no less. Any genre, though darker themed ones usually work better, and rated PG-13 or less. If you're going to talk about more adult subject matter, it's time to get creative with those euphemisms.

Starting October 8, 2016, you'll have four weeks to make your masterpiece. Three entries per person, and exactly thirteen words each. Any more or less won't count towards badges (sorry, guys). Judging by ShadowBobcat10, the infamous (or not) sci-fi writer.
