Hezago stuck his top-hatted head out of the cab window as the train sped down the countryside. He had had enough. Watching things happen, seeing chaos endure, and letting the world burn was his nature. But then came these people. People who flocked to the council like a moth to a flame. People who were against his laws like darkness is to light. People who broke just about every moral known to existence. People who thought him their creator. Well, when you committed this many atrocities, you were sure to catch his attention.

"Sir, Sir!" The blue eyed man turned toward his informer. "What seems to be the problem?" "There's an object approaching the gate! It doesn't seem to be st-" "Well then, tell the guards to open fire once in range. That'll take care of it."

But it wouldn't.

Same time and place, just outside the Vouisol Base gate.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAzCGwmOiuDf
A distant train horn echoed through the air, its call lost in the vastness. The guards at the gate, tense yet sluggish, shuffled into a semblance of formation. The engine, pulling only two cars, chugged steadily forward, seemingly oblivious to the commotion around it. But then, unexpectedly, it picked up speed.
30Please respect copyright.PENANA8vbK68jhgp
The guards stood deathly still, confused. Their hesitation proved, as said, deathly. The train chugged forward faster and faster, with no signs of stopping. Then there was a crash, a deafening one, at that. Searchlights flickered to life, scanning the scene, and revealed twisted metal and oddly mangled bodies. The chugging resumed, a steady beat against the backdrop of silence. The train emerged from the wreckage, seemingly unharmed, and then proceeded to vanish. How wonderful..
30Please respect copyright.PENANAbPVL4VNZj5
Anyways, the survivors, stunned, stumbled towards the mangled remains of the gate, their disbelief palpable. A wave of horrified gasps swept through the group as they realised the true cost of their late realisation. Muffled sobs replaced the initial shock—a sound of sorrow for all.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAD8Ugo0XvZu
But then came screams—agony, sorrow, and unexpectedly, remorse. The terror solidified as they beheld what they called their god. A monstrous silhouette stood bathed in the rising sun. Its head, a featureless void, split wide in a grin—a white smile radiating pure disgust and oddly enough, pity. Bodies lay scattered around its feet, a result of their doings. Being the delusional fools they were, they sank to their knees, whimpering pleas for salvation eyes locked on that abyssal grin. Their reward? A sickeningly wet snap as unseen forces crushed them. There was no time for prayers, and most definitely no mercy offered.

Fear tore through the remaining guards, their screams echoing in the chaos. They scrambled to their stations, fingers tightening on triggers in a futile display of defiance. Bullets rained upon the entity, yet it didn't flinch. And then, from the blood-soaked earth, tendrils erupted—black, writhing serpents of muscle and gore. With inhuman speed, they severed heads, a sickening spray painting the lawn- not the lawn- a grotesque red.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAR9rHZSjcoP
The screams continued, a horrifying choir that sounded oddly harmonious. The monstrous entity stalked through the wreckage, the symphony of agony now a chilling anthemic hum.
The tentacles reached for a particularly stubborn tank, extending like very plump metallic fingers. With an absolutely splendid crunch, the tank was reduced to a mangled ball of metal, tossed aside with disdain. Reaching the base's stairs, the entity paused. A hush fell over the destruction, the remaining survivors holding their breath in an act of fear. It turned its head, a movement both fluid and unnatural. The white smile on its featureless head seemed to widen, radiating a cold, vicious annoyance.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAnt3HprfkN0
Screams erupted once more as the last surviving sixteen people were seized by the tentacles and hurled into the castle behind it. The entity, its face now a complete void, entered the building, its victims huddled in a corner, terrified for their lives. They looked up at their 'creator,' the only facial features visible being its piercing silver eyes as it scanned them.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAMQAX5nps1n
Then, abruptly, the room brightened—as if it were a... gameshow? Odd.
30Please respect copyright.PENANA5cMoXZGfiX
The entity stood before a table, its featureless head tilted in amusement. Then, the voice spoke in a smooth, professional tone that sent shivers down the survivors' spines. "Welcome," it boomed, the voice echoing eerily within the sterile chamber. "Congratulations, you've survived... for now. But tell me, haven't you all felt a little... bored lately?"
30Please respect copyright.PENANASQaYq9fyUp
The entity's grin widened further, the white slash seeming to split its head in two. "Fear not, my little contestants! Here, in this arena, you'll finally find a purpose." Its voice dropped an octave, the amusement gone, replaced by a chilling emptiness. "A purpose far more entertaining than your lives ever offered! Isn't that wonderful!"
30Please respect copyright.PENANAT9yikDKclT
The entity's grin stretched wider, revealing a row of razor-sharp teeth. It gripped the gleaming table, its steel groaning under the pressure. "The nation," it continued, the voice silky sweet like the joy of a child having a lollipop, "the world, even, will be quite... entertained!"
30Please respect copyright.PENANAnIqkHf16Vy
"Today," it boomed, its voice echoing off the sterile walls, "your deaths get a SPECTACLE!" It said, its voice becoming very… british.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAXgt0eB9HUx
A monstrous contraption then proceeded to materialise from the floor. It was a game show wheel, but awfully oversized, its slots filled with long descriptions of death. Each described a horrifying demise – a man being devoured by insects, another impaled on a mountain of rusty spikes, a woman dissolving in a vat of acid.
30Please respect copyright.PENANA6E6JRcPX9U
The sheer variety of suffering was both sickening and, honestly, comical, made worse furthermore by its continuous changing, as if it couldn't decide which death was most fitting.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAghO3nVrEEe
Then, catching everyone's attention, the entity hollered; "Let the games begin! You first!" It said, pointing at one of the sixteen contestants of this game. The entity's shiny grin seemed to widen as a spotlight flared to life, bathing one terrified survivor in its harsh white glare. The wheel continued its relentless spin, a blur of colour and text.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAZL9jgspYqF
As if yanked by an unseen force, the chosen contestant stumbled forward, their legs trembling. The ground seemed to ripple beneath their feet, effortlessly guiding them towards the fate that awaited them. A metallic whirring filled the air as another contraption materialised from the floor beside them. It was an elaborate chair, ornately carved with odd looking designs.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAYT8H8vE0HH
Restraints, razor-sharp and glinting, snaked out from the armrests, each one tipped with a barb. The man backed away, his ragged breaths echoing in the cavernous silence. But there was nowhere to go. The ground pulsed faintly beneath his feet, a silent promise of forced compliance.
30Please respect copyright.PENANA0grhQcgY6s
Then, with a sickening click and hiss, the restraints sprang to life. They shot out with inhuman speed, wrapping around the person’s limbs. Their screams, raw and desperate, filled the chamber as barbs pierced their flesh, drawing a bead of crimson that snaked down their arm.
30Please respect copyright.PENANADfRPEMkBYg
The entity's smile stretched wider, a pleasured look that seemed to devour the person's remaining hope. It watched, as if waiting for his last strains of life to fray. And it happened with an oddly satisfying crunch as a barbed spike shot through the person's chest.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAWjWRXZVRaU
Unsanitary, much.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAuDHqKdEIAx
The entity then turned toward the other whimpering individuals as the individual's body fell to the ground, the chair it was strapped to disappearing with an ominous hum, only leaving a pool of blood behind. A slimy black tentacle rose out of the ground, dragging the body outside the castle to let maggots consume the flesh. Lovely.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAKXuorKUa7w
"Next~!" The entity sang, its voice dripping with amusement. Another of the now fifteen contestants was dragged into the spotlight. A pulsating, iridescent light emanated from – well, somewhere – bathing the room in an otherworldly glow.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAKgV2W9fOn3
The man whimpered, instinctively backing away from the podium. But the light clung to him, seeping into his skin, igniting a burning sensation that spread like wildfire. He screamed, a primal shriek of pain and terror, but the sound seemed weirdly distorted, warped by the changes coursing through his body.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAiGWkN68zz7
His limbs twisted at unnatural angles, bones contorting and reshaping. Flesh bubbled and peeled back (DISGUSTING), replaced by a grotesque network of glistening membranes and chitinous plates. The man was no more; a monstrous insect, its compound eyes gleaming with a feral intelligence, twitched its antennae and let out a horrifying chirp. Once again, disgusting.
30Please respect copyright.PENANATzt3utG3dg
Very abruptly, the former human was set aflame. It screeched, its alarm a horrifying shriek that shocked the remaining survivors back into the brutal reality of their situation.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAmY6BwtkOok
This was no game, obviously.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAv5wR7Rc4mt
As the flames consumed the insect, a chilling silence descended upon the chamber. It was a
30Please respect copyright.PENANAI7ddDtlf7S
"Next!" the entity's voice, sang once again, shattering the silence. The spotlight swivelled, its harsh glare landing on another contestant. A man, his face pale and drawn with terror, stood there, legs trembling like jelly, as if the very air itself recoiled from him. The ground pulsed faintly beneath his feet, a silent, malevolent force guiding him towards his end.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAG5UluSPNSj
The monstrous wheel began to spin again, and with a screech that chilled everyone to the bone, it wheel finally stopped. The description that locked into place sent a fresh wave of terror crashing down on the man. It depicted a man, his face contorted in a silent scream, trapped within a vast, swirling vortex. Black tendrils, barbed and dripping with an acidic ichor, snaked through the vortex, reaching out to devour him. The man's blood ran cold.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAHs7fholzHT
Choking on a sob, his eyes plead with the entity for mercy. But the entity's smile remained unchanged, a cruel parody of amusement. "Ah, splendid," it said, its voice an echo that weakened their sanity. "A fitting end for such a... bloodthirsty contestant!"
30Please respect copyright.PENANAi98tih3Eq4
Not a very nice choice of words.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAwSqEA6MzHn
The floor beneath the man dissolved, replaced by a swirling portal of inky blackness. The tendrils from the wheel's description materialised from the portal, whipping around the man with vigour and speed. They were hot, hotter than boiling water, and the acidic ichor that dripped from them sizzled as it touched his skin. A horrifying scream escaped the man's throat as the tendrils began to drag him towards the portal. He proceeded to claw at the air, but his resistance was futile, as inch by agonising inch, he was pulled closer, and then into, the swirling mass of darkness.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAffEPW48tdr
Then, with a lovely snap, the portal snapped shut around him. The man's screams abruptly cut off, replaced by an unsettling silence. A jolly chuckling filled the air, a sound that sent shivers down the remaining survivors' spines. They held their breath, eyes glued to the spot where their comrade had vanished.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAeVwEEi2PQg
A moment later, a horrifying gurgling sound emanated from the portal. It was a sound of unimaginable pain, a sound that spoke of flesh being dissolved, bones being crushed. The survivors watched in numb terror as the portal pulsed with a sickly red light, a faint echo of the horrors transpiring within. The gurgling sounds continued for what felt like an eternity. Then, with a final, sickening pop, the portal sputtered and, well, died.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAJz9Tvd7vcX
"Next~!" The entity sang, its voice dripping with a sickening amusement. Another being was drawn forward from the now fourteen. Two, in fact – a burly man and a rather malnourished one. Their expressions mirrored each other.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAc6gA4HZaoW
Terror, obviously.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAgxefH3cb2a
"Lovely," the entity's voice echoed, a whisper that seemed to emanate from all around them. “Now, witness your end!"
30Please respect copyright.PENANA3wO1IJZZP8
The spotlight roared back to life, bathing the two terrified figures in its harsh glare. The monstrous game show wheel spun with a sickening lurch, the macabre descriptions blurring into a terrifying kaleidoscope of suffering. Finally, with a screech of metal, it stopped. The words that locked into place were simple yet horrifying: a pair of hands desperately clawing at the edges of another bottomless pit (what is it with these bottomless pits?), silhouetted against an endless expanse of black.
30Please respect copyright.PENANA5fCztgSmBP
The burly man let out a choked gasp, his mask crumbling. The floor beneath them dissolved with a vicious hiss. The two men screamed, flailing their arms wildly, but, as expected, it was too late. They plummeted downwards, their screams echoing through the vast emptiness.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAccnP286TpA
Then, a sickening crunch resonated from the unseen depths. The sound reverberated through the chamber, a chilling reminder of the unforgiving ground that awaited them all. The entity's grin seemed to twist in amusement. The spotlight flickered once more, landing on a lone man huddled in the corner, his eyes wide with terror. "Once again, Let the games continue!" it said, its voice akin to that of a joyous boy, a horrifying juxtaposition to the content of its words.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAi0ySEDcg9S
The entity's white grin stretched wider as the monstrous game show wheel ground to a halt. The image that locked into place sent a shiver down the spines of the remaining survivors. It depicted a man, silhouetted against a blazing inferno, his figure contorted in a silent scream. "Ah, a classic!" boomed the entity, its voice echoing off the sterile walls. "Let's see how our remaining contestants fare against the ever-popular Burning at the Stake!"
30Please respect copyright.PENANA4ZrYlBeQPC
The chamber floor shimmered and dissolved, revealing a section of the sterile white room had vanished. In its place, a desolate landscape stretched under a blood-red sky. A hulking wooden pyre loomed in the centre, its dry timber promising a fiery demise. Panic (as expected) erupted. Four of the survivors, chosen at random by the entity's unseen hand, were teleported outside. They stumbled and screamed, disoriented and terrified. Thick iron shackles materialised around their wrists, binding them to their assigned.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAyAJELKV1Q2
The entity's voice boomed again, dripping with sadistic glee. "Prepare your guest of honour for their fiery farewell! And remember, any... hesitation will be… duly punished."
30Please respect copyright.PENANA4RIqNFZ8wv
A fifth survivor, a young man with haunted eyes, was shoved out onto the desolate landscape. His pleas for mercy were drowned out by the manic barking that erupted from the darkness. A pack of monstrous dogs, their eyes glowing red in the twilight, surged from the shadows, their slavering jaws dripping with anticipation.
30Please respect copyright.PENANACuqQ8I7BLr
Terror paralyzed the bound survivors. They watched in horrified slow motion as the dogs lunged for their flesh. Shrill screams pierced the air as the creatures tore into the first victim, their panicked struggles a mockery against the relentless onslaught. The remaining survivors, their faces contorted in a splendid mix of terror and despair, realised their struggle was futile. One by one, they were devoured by the inexplicably hungry beasts, their screams a grim symphony that echoed across the lawn.

The lawn still doesn't deserve this.

Inside the chamber, the man destined for the pyre watched in horrified silence, spirit broken.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAiRVvNfXpUh
The entity, still smiling, now turned to the remaining nine. "What's next? We'll see..." Another man was forced forward. With a screech of metal, the wheel stopped. The image that locked into place was simple yet horrifying: a dissolving figure, their body slowly being eaten away by a pool of bubbling acid. The man's face drained of colour, a choked sob escaping his throat.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAxzwd4mYDMh
The floor beneath him dissolved with a hiss, replaced by a shallow pool of the same viscous green liquid depicted on the wheel. It bubbled and hissed, sending off a noxious vapour that stung the survivor's nostrils. Fear turned to panic. He scrambled backwards, but the entity's unseen hand seemed to restrain him.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAWExe9WxNjS
A scream ripped from his throat as his foot touched the edge of the pool. The acid sizzled, the flesh on his foot dissolving instantly, leaving behind a raw, exposed bone that would have pleased the hounds immensely. He screamed again, a sound that echoed through the chamber. Desperation fueled him. He lunged for the edge of the chamber, clawing at the seemingly featureless white wall. But it was no use. He was trapped.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAMALPP87EzH
Slowly, and agonisingly, the acid crept up his legs. Each new contact brought a fresh wave of excruciating pain, his screams morphing into whimpers of despair. The remaining survivors huddled together, their faces pale and drawn, forced to witness the agonising spectacle.
30Please respect copyright.PENANA6bztmPV6pU
The acid ate through the man's flesh with methodical cruelty. Muscles dissolved, bones bleached and softened. His screams subsided, replaced by a horrifying gurgling sound as his internal organs began to liquefy. Finally, with a sickening squelch, the man's body collapsed entirely. All that remained was a wisp of smoke rising from the bubbling green pool, a chilling testament to the horrifying power of the entity's oddly... thrilling game. Eight left. Eight to die. Eight more turns of fun.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAIa3vzvdoch
"Ah, four more to perish. How lovely!" The spotlight swivelled, bathing four unfortunate men in its harsh glare. Panic flickered across their faces as a monstrous metal contraption materialised from the floor. It resembled a giant helmet, its smooth, reflective surface devoid of any openings. Cold dread washed over the men as four metallic tentacles snaked out, each tipped with a wicked barb. With inhuman speed, the tentacles shot forward, wrapping around the men's heads and burrowing the barbs deep into their flesh. Their screams, filled with terror and confusion, echoed through the chamber. But those screams were short-lived. As if on cue, the metal helmet hummed to life. Glowing glyphs flickered across its surface, and a sickly green light emanated from within.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAFxfo09Uk8z
The men's bodies went rigid, their screams replaced by choked gasps. Their eyes, wide with a horrifying realisation, stared vacantly into the distance. Inside the helmet, a sickening mental tug-of-war unfolded. Flashes of faces, places, and experiences flickered in the minds of the men, only to be ripped away just as quickly. Their identities, their sense of self, were being devoured by an unseen force. Moments stretched into an eternity. The glowing glyphs pulsed faster, the green light intensifying. The men's bodies twitched, their faces contorting in silent screams. Then, with a sickening pop, the green light vanished, and the helmet deactivated.
30Please respect copyright.PENANA1sp5QDNjti
A few minutes passed, a horrifying parody of waiting, and the whimpering people's heads promptly exploded in a grotesque display of gore. How... wonderful. The entity then turned toward the remaining four. The wheel spun with a malevolent glee, and as it came to a stop, the entity chuckled, a sound like nails scraping down a chalkboard. "And now for...Instant Decimation! My Favourite!"
30Please respect copyright.PENANAS9rHimc0R3
Before the survivors could even comprehend the entity's pronouncement, the ground beneath them erupted in a blinding flash of white-hot light. The chamber floor dissolved, replaced by a bottomless pit of churning energy. A primal scream ripped from their throats, cut short the moment their bodies made contact with the energy field. There was no time for pain, no time for fear. In a single, horrifying instant, the survivors disintegrated. Flesh, bone, and even the very essence of their existence were ripped apart, devoured by the energy field.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAHY3PLhuZ3K
The chamber stood empty, a sterile tomb for the unfortunate souls who dared to defy the entity's cruel games.
30Please respect copyright.PENANAKTMSfYJf3a
The entity, satisfied and slightly disappointed – the thrill of the hunt was always better with more participants – walked out, footsteps resonating loudly in the oppressive silence. It exited the castle, and proceeded deeper into the unknown. The wind howled around the desolate structure, the only witness to the carnage within. The castle, bathed in the pale moonlight, stood as a monument to cruelty, a promise of torment for any unfortunate soul who dared to disobey it.

Outside the Vouisol Base Castle
Hezago took an annoyed breath, adjusting his tophat as his suit’s tailcoats flowed in the wind, bloodstained. The four he had sent to tie their fellow survivor had failed to actually start burning him. Looking piteously at the dishevelled man that was loosely tied to a stake, he frowned. He had places to be. And so, without a second thought, he set the man on fire, and promptly walked away. Entering the train, he looked up at the still rising sun, wondering how this civil war would conclude. However it did, it didn't affect him. He started the train, and with that, he was off.

Hey! Welcome to the Borealisis list of fun facts!
Did you know?
Mt. Vicassida is the most deadly mountain known to the Galaxian Commonwealth of Borealia! The mountain occasionally collapses and then promptly rebuilds itself, which, as you can tell, caused chaos. It is believed that the mountain's instability is a result of the seismic activity triggered by the brutality of Borealis's civil war.
Have a lovely day!
