HOW TO DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN A RESISTANCE:
- Begin by asking for what you want from the government so they can’t say you weren’t clear about what you wanted. For example Gandhi was clear with the British after the shootings/massacre occurred that they (the Indians) were tired of them and that they could no longer co exist that the British needed to set India free.
- Have a leader who is the face of this movement and who will express their opinions no matter what. For example Gandhi continued to express his sentiments throughout the whole time despite multiple disagreements with both the British and the Hindus. Another example would be Khomeini even after he was exiled he continued speaking and writing out against the shah which provoked the Iranians to continue their fight.
-Use no violence either non-cooperation or civil disobedience this should show them that you also have power and this can create a certain picture for outsiders. For example Gandhi used non cooperation when he and his followers marched the Indian sea to harvest salt so they wouldn’t have to but form the overpriced British salt. In addition to that in Iran the secret police and the brutality that they used on civilians further increased the tensions and chaos that civilians felt for the shah or in the instance when they blamed the shah for the when fire was opened and when they were killed.
- Continue speaking up and continue having rallies that spark people’s interest in the movement. For example In India they continued with the meetings despite the violence, Gandhi included and reassured Muslims to fight with Hindus agains one enemy.
- Manifest your hatred and frustration for your government clearly. Intimidate the government without actually doing something to physically harm them. For example when many of the protesters would burn the shahs face/ pictures of him and said that they wanted him dead this crated fear and intimidated the Shah.
- Lastly show the government that there is no other option that they must leave and that nothing Is going to change the minds of the people.

CHALLENGES YOU WILL FACE AND SOLUTIONS177Please respect copyright.PENANAcu2uGxcTjf
- There will be rivalry between people that have a common goal like Hindus and Muslims during the Indian revolution but they were able to solve this by compromising with each other and showing that they have equal power and one enemy in common.

- There will be deaths and violence prepare yourself for this and just keep going find motivation in all the lives that we’re hurt as an incentive to keep going
- The people in power won’t want to listen or change what they’ve been doing for years so persist and persist until you can’t
