So this is great, we have lots of mentors, but no one to mentor!
Anyone have any genius ideas on how to get new members?

I've reached out to a few people via PM, telling them we could all use help writing no matter what skill level we are and directed them here. I think we should actively seek out people and message them, letting them know there is this service available and soliciting it as what it is, a way to help improve your writing through the use of a mentor.

I think sending individual messages to the people who pop up on the introductions page of the Find Your Writing Buddies would be a good idea

That's a good idea. It's just a shame there isn't a function where you can message everyone that are something like in this case joining say since December

This society is to help new writers with both their stories and the website.

It is open to both new and old Pens, and I'm hoping to do a buddy system where more experienced authors will mentor the new ones. I will need quite a few members for this though.

Here is some basics
see the yellow bar? look at the left side.
The envlope looking thing is messages
the ! is notifications
The quill tip (the shapy thing) is your publications
the notebook is bookmarks or stories you have tagged to read later.

Now the center That is the penana hub. press on it.
that is where you find stories contests groups and writers. the catgories are in the top left corner.

The right side. That little circle with a picture in it is the quick way to your account. the one that says "hub" next to it is your stream it is full of your followers status update contest entries and other things like that the button with society next to it leads to your groups.


Quickest way join mentoring group.
Go to my account (sar-low Press on my icon in messages)
Press the Socities tab
Scroll down
(It is in the bottom right hand corner of the page)
Press on it
press the "Join society" button

I am new to writing.  I have figured out the website pretty quickly, but could always use help.  I I have spent a short lifetime listening to and reading stories.  Now, I'm ready to unleash my own.  For better or worse.  Any help would be appreciated.
