Creating minor characters

Okay so I had this idea of a girl that makes a deal with a demon which opens a world of the supernatural. She is forced into a school where everyone has a spirit guide that protects them. And she’s currently trying to play off that her “demon” Fred is a spirit guide. Now the problem I’m having is creating a spirit guide for other characters and ranking them.

Sorry if this doesn’t make sense but that’s where I’m at

Think of names, then figure out one or two personality traits for each, that makes it easier

@Mae, I vote for this.
If you have an artsy character maybe you could do a dripping guide or one made of wood to represent paint and brushes?

The quiet one who likes the library could have a paperish body or a candle wax head for the old times reading by candlelight
