I awoke in a dark room, on a couch with my hand healed and a black shirt on. "One day." I rose and spun around to see the Vampire who bit me, behind the couch. "Usually it takes a week for a Human to become a Vampire... But you... It took you a matter of seconds for your wings and teeth to form, along with your heart to stop. It took ten hours for your tattoo to appear, and exactly twenty four hours for you to wake. Before I bit you, I searched for your mind for thirty min-"
"You searched for my mind?! Why?!" He put up his hands, "It's how Vampires find the right Human to bite. When we find the human, they'll more than likely cause the most random injury-that makes no sense and draws blood-to themselves. Anyways, it took me thirty minutes to find you. It's suppose to take me one minute or less." I raised a brow at him, "Okay. What's the point of telling me this?"
"I'm trying to figure out what's going on-"
"You could just talk to your Queen instead." His brows furrowed and he crossed his arms. "One, she's our queen, not just mine. Two, she'd probably dismiss this as nothing. Three, you're a fledgling, you need to know everything about how long it took you to become a Vamp. If you don't, you'll get pushed around by other Vampires for not knowing. Don't ask why, some Vampires are just assholes. Sho-" I put up a hand, "Before you continue... Where am I? Who are you? How do I know you're not one of the Rogue Vampires?"
The Rogue Vampires, are Vampires that don't follow the law, were casted out of Kruthian, and kill humans for fun. "You're in an apartment I bought for you, which is near Mythic High School. You'll begin going there tomorrow morning. I'm Zachaeus Church. Zach for short. I train Fledglings that have special abilities. See this," He pointed at the inside of his wrist, showing a small red full moon. "Rogues don't have this. It disappears once they become a Rouge. Only Kruthian, or lone law-abiding Vampires have it. Are you done interrupting me?" I shrugged, "Maybe. Please continue."
He sighed heavily, "Show me your tattoo." Right... All Vampires have a unique tattoo that symbolizes a power, or what they're job is as a Kruthian Vampire. I looked at my arms, but there were no tattoos. Then my legs, and again nothing. I pulled up the new shirt to look at my belly, and found an intricate tattoo. It looked like a large Celtic knot, with tattoos that looked like spikes or thorns on my sides. 505Please respect copyright.PENANA3uBhupMuPT

"Crap."
"What," I asked, quickly pulling down my shirt. "It's nothing... Just don't show that tattoo to anyone, unless I say it's okay." He then walked to a fridge, opened it, and pulled out a bottle of what seemed to be blood. Zach tossed it and I easily caught it. "Why am I not allowed to-"
"Drink it." I sighed and opened the bottle. The scent of sweet blood filled my nose, making my mouth water. I chugged it down, content with the flavor. It was odd to love the taste of blood, yet I was fine with it. "Mmm. O- is exquisite." I gasped putting a hand to my mouth. Did I seriously just say the blood type? How did I know right off the bat?! Zach chuckled, grabbing another bottle. "It's common for Vampires to know the blood type without being told... But not many Fledglings know this one. Here," He tossed the bottle, and again I caught it. I opened it up, then gulped down the now slightly tangy blood. I knew what it was. "A... AB-?" He nodded.
"I'm impressed... For now. Your room is down the hall. The closet is filled with clothing, and the fridge is full of blood and various fruits. If you don't like the fruit, let me know. Your parents dropped off your things, and I put it all in the Hallway Closet. Tomorrow, you'll see many Werewolves. Don't show any kindness to them. If you do, there will be punishment." He walked towards a door and opened it, letting in sun light. "Why can we not be kind?"
"Because it's a sign of disloyalty. The school is on Mary Lane. Will you need help finding it?" I shook my head, "No. I've been on Mary Lane before." He nodded, "Good. School starts at 8. You should be there at 7:30, to recieve your schedule. I'll see you later." Then he walked out, leaving me in the dark.
I then got up, and found a body mirror in my room. I didn't look that different. My long black hair was the same, but now my hazel eyes had a gold shimmer to them. My new black bat-like wings were folded neatly. I easily spread them, noticing that I had about an eight foot wingspan. I felt and looked stronger, but also looked extremely pale. The small thought of being stronger made me smile, revealing my glinting canines.
A Vampire... Forever. "I should probably contact the family and Keith," I said to myself. I then looked around, finding my phone in the Hall Closet. Without hesitating, I called my parents. Soon they answered. "Mom? Dad?"
"What do you want?" It was my dad... "I tried to escape."
"You didn't try hard enough, Helena Vitiae. Don't call again, freak!" Then he hanged up, and I began to cry. Freak. Vitiae. He used that last name. He called me a freak. Freak didn't bother me that much, but the last name I had when I was in an Orphanage... That meant I was no longer part of the Jones family. Once again, I have no parents.
Sadly, I don't remember my biological parents. I was told that, when I was ten, we were in a car accident, and they died. I can't remember anything the day of and before the accident. Not. One. Bit. I now have nothing... Unless-
I then quickly called Keith. "Hey."
"Hey, Keith."
"So you're a-- Vampire?
"Yeah."
"Then... Helena- I- I'm sorry. But I- I can't be with a Vampire." I began to sob, "Babe, don't do this! Please don't leave me!"
"Hel, one day I'm going to die. I'll grow old, and you'll still be looking like a 18 year old girl. I wanted to grow old with you... I can't do that with a Vampire. You'll find someone else. Good bye."
"Keith! Please-" Then he hanged up.

In the morn, I awoke to having a great thirst for blood. I quickly went to my closet, got dressed in a white long sleeve, jeans, and sneakers, realizing that the shirts were enchanted so I could fly without restriction. After putting my hair up in a bun, I packed three bottles of O- into my school bag and grabbed my ear buds. I put them in my ears, played Don't Cry by Emarosa, and left for school.
The sun was beginning to rise, warming up the cool Autumn breeze. Most of the trees in Atlanta have lost their leaves, meaning that winter was just around the corner.505Please respect copyright.PENANACXsDjlowmU

People slowly began filling the streets, wearing coats and long sleeves. Most were other teens, likely heading to Mythic High. I noticed that the Werewolves and Vampires avoided eachother, sticking to their own groups, while Fae would interact with other Fae, Vamps, and Werewolves.
Don't show any kindness to them. That was going to be difficult. When I was human, I was always kind to Vampires, Werewolves, Fae, and Fairies whenever I saw one. But now I'm not allowed to be kind to Werewolves because it's a 'sign of disloyalty'. What the hell happened between Vamps and Wolves for them to hate eachother so much?
"It's because of a War that happened nine years ago. You don't know about it?" I looked up, pulled out an earbud and saw a blue haired, green eyed Vampire, flying above me. He landed and began walking beside me, way taller than my short 5'8 self. "I've heard that there was a war then, but I know nothing about it. Wait... How did you-"
He nodded, taking off a red pirate coat, revealing that he wore a black T under it. "I can read minds. It was a complete accident reading yours... Sorry. So you must be the new Fledgling?" I blinked, "The new Fledgling?" Again he nodded, "Yesterday, the whole school found out that one new Fledgling will be arriving. What was the name again... Helena?" I sighed, great I'm already known by everyone. "I prefer Hel." He stopped walking and put out his hand, "Name's Lucian Trez." I shook his hand with a smile, "Helena... But you already know that." We then continued walking and he asked, "No last name?" I shrugged, silent.
"Family threw you out?" I nodded, again staying silent. "Oof. That's never fun. Sorry that happened to ya." Once more, I shrugged. I really didn't like talking about this.
At that moment we arrived at the large school, and Zach walked up to us. "Hel, Lucian." Lucian gave a nod, "Zach. Hel, I'll see you later." Then he walked into the school. Zach pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to me. "You'll be in room 122 with Mr. Adamson most of the day. At noon is lunch in the cafeteria or outside, and at two is specialty training in room 205 with me and Mrs. Bening. If you need help finding your class, ask a teacher. We wear all black, and a name tag, thus an easy find. You have twenty five minutes till class, you can head there now or you can explore the school."

I nodded with a smile, "Thank you for letting me know." Then I walked into the school, not at all feeling ready for the day.
