Gaines.
I couldn’t feel. I could barely think. Judging from the radio chatter, they’d sent a patrol car. One look at me, they’d called in an ambulance. Hardly conscious, I could see a blurred sliver of the world. The sky above. Then the paramedics staring down at me. Then the roof of the ambulance. Then darkness.
There’s an odd sensation, only having that fine thread of reality to cling to. It came and went. Like the silver thread could only be seen in a certain light, almost like a spiders silk. When I did manage to hold it, it almost felt like I was dreaming underwater. Memories were vague, like if I didn’t focus on them they just slipped away and I couldn’t retrieve them.222Please respect copyright.PENANAArrpLddD7J
The only ones I found worth focusing on were that of Skylar and Ethan.
“Sky…I’m here,” I wanted to say. But I controlled nothing now, never had I felt so powerless, never had I felt so tired.
All I could do was wait.222Please respect copyright.PENANAfU7Q562XHs
