Rick walked along the Dallas streets. It was nearing three in the morning and he was growing rather tired. Of course, that didn't stop him from trying to enjoy some whiskey that night.557Please respect copyright.PENANAPH8O9KgUO9
Rick sat down on a bench near a bus stop and pulled out the bottle of whiskey that he had just spent the last of his money on. It would be a quite a few days before he would he would see his next cut from Spooner, but it was definitely worth it.
Rick took a large drink from his whiskey and took a look around. What a calm and peaceful night it was. The perfect night to just sit down, relax and have a good drink. Rick wished he could enjoy these nights more often. Sadly, business called more often than he wanted.
After laying back and closing his eyes for about a minute, he heard a sound of footsteps. He opened his eyes and sat up.
Spooner stood in front of him, grinning largely. Rick groaned to himself. Five minutes of peace were indeed a rarity.
"Did I wake you up?" Spooner asked.
Rick took a deep breath.
"Nah," he said. "I wasn't asleep."
"Well, that's good. Because I got some business to take care of right now and I was looking for somebody to come along with me. You know, to back me up in case things turn ugly."
Rick rubbed his eyebrow. "I really don't think you need anybody to back you up. Honestly, I feel sorry for anybody that even tries to mess with you."
"That may be true. But that doesn't mean I'm invincible. It's always good to be on the safe side. Come on."
Rick sighed and stood up.
"Where to?" He asked, taking another drink from his whiskey.
"You'll see."
"You're not going to tell me where your going?"
"Let's just say I got a little surprise for you and the rest of the guys."
"What kind of surprise?"
"You'll see."
Rick said nothing else. It was obvious that Spooner wasn't going to tell him anything else, so there was no point in asking him about any more details about this particular errand that they were running. Though, he was now very curious about what it was. He was actually really looking forward to seeing what it was. Spooner had given "surprises" many times in the past and he had never been one to disappoint.
Rick and Spooner walked down the streets, constantly watching to make sure there were no police cars around. They knew that things wouldn't turn out pretty if the cops ever spotted them.
After walking for about twenty minutes, Rick and Spooner arrived at a very old and shoddy apartment complex. They continued walking until they reached apartment number 14 on the second floor. A giant grin suddenly appeared on Spooner's face.
"This should be the right place," Spooner said. He then knocked on the door.
After about a minute, a man answered the door. He was short, chubby, and had a brown goatee. He also smelled like he hadn't showered in months.
"Can I help you?" The man asked in a slightly agitated tone of voice.557Please respect copyright.PENANACQDUl1ID4b
"Are you Big Green?" Spooner asked.
"No, I'm Carl. What do you want?"
"Well, we would like to speak to Big Green."
"He's busy at the moment. Come back later."
Carl was just about to close the door, but immediately stopped when Spooner pulled back his jacket sleeve. Carl's eyes widened in shock.
"You ever seen this before?" Spooner asked, grinning.
"Umm...uhh...," Carl stammered. "I'll...I'll get him."
Carl then walked away from the door.
"Hold it," Rick said, throwing his empty whiskey bottle to the ground. "This is actually where Big Green lives?"
"Yep," Spooner said.
"The Big Green?!"
"The Big Green."
