Claire was sitting in the cafe that was located on the tenth floor of Kincaid Enterprises. She was sitting near the window eating a chicken salad. She was on her laptop looking for apartments on Apartments.com in Chelsea. She had narrowed her search to there or Greenwich Village. She would love to live in Soho or Tribeca, but they were way out of her price range.
"Can I join you?" she heard Kimmie say.
Claire looked up and smiled and said, "Of course." Pointing to the chair across from her. From what little time she has spent with her. Claire was beginning to like her. She was so different than anyone else she knew. She was hoping that they could become friends.
"Wow," Kimmie said in between bites of her avocado salad. "You really take your job seriously."
Claire looked at her laptop and laughingly said, "Oh, this isn't work-related. I'm looking for an apartment. I'm currently living in a hotel."
Kimmie looked at Claire curiously and asked, "Why?" If you don't mind me asking?"
Claire looked out towards the window and sighed. Closing her eyes at the memory of Ty and that bitch. "My fiancé cheated on me and he wiped out my bank account."
"OMG!" Kimmie exclaimed. "My sister had the exact same thing happen to her about a year and a half ago. Some asshole named, Ty Huntington."
Claire whipped her back towards Kimmie and asked, "Did you say Ty Huntington?"
"Yeah. Why?" Kimmie asked questionably. "Do you know him?"
Claire chuckled and shook her head in disbelief. "Asshole," she mumbled. "Yes, he is the one who cheated on me." She didn't know whether to laugh or cry. She looked at Kimmie and asked, "Just out of curiosity? Was it the wedding planner?"
"Yeah. How did...? Oh shit! don't tell me!" Kimmie said covering her mouth.
All Claire could do was nod her head in agreement. She felt like crying but then felt the urge to start laughing. How could I have been so stupid? Of course, he had done this before. She covered her mouth trying to hold the laugh that was trying to break free. She also felt the sting of tears threatening to fall.
Kimmie said in disbelief, "My sister is so going to flip out when I tell her. It took her forever to trust again. He was so controlling and never let her do anything. She gave up all her friends."
Claire for a brief second thought about Blaine. I trust him. There is nobody I trust more than, Blaine. She wanted to tell him but she didn't know if she should. She looked at Kimmie as the tears fell. "Tell her. He did the same to me. She is not alone."
Kimmie reached her hand across the table and laid it on top of Claire's. "Maybe you both should have been wedding planners," she said. This time they both cracked up laughing.

Claire was sitting out on the balcony of her hotel suite. She was drinking a glass of white wine. She came back here straight after work. She snuck out while Blaine was still in a meeting. She didn't want to see him. She knew if she did she would want to tell him about Ty. She didn't even know if he would want to hear about it. After he had said nothing could happen until she was over Ty. She wanted to be alone anyway. She needed time to process everything. Learning the man you thought you were going to spend the rest of your life with. Had a history of cheating on women and draining their bank accounts. Was emotionally draining.
She heard someone knock on the door. Her heart leaped out of her chest when she answered it. "Blaine?" she asked. "What are you doing here?" She wanted to throw her arms around him. She wanted to kiss him. He was so sexy standing there in his gray pinstriped suit. His black dress shirt and black tie.
"Can I come?" he asked in his usual business-like manner.
"Of course," Claire said standing back to let him in.
"Is everything alright," Claire?" he asked once he was inside. "I waited for you. I was hoping I could take you to dinner." He noticed she was wearing glasses. "I didn't know you wore glasses," he said.
Claire forgot she had even put them on. She pulled them off feeling very self-conscious in front of Blaine. "Yeah," she said sitting them down. "I've had them since I was a kid. When I turned fourteen I got contacts."
He walked over and touched her cheek. "You're still beautiful," he said.
Claire blushed at his comment. She pulled the white cardigan she was wearing over her black tank top and matching leggings. She had pulled her hair back in a ponytail "I'm sorry I didn't wait for you," she said awkwardly. "I just needed to be alone." She wanted to tell him. She wanted to throw her arms around him and bury her face in his chest.
Blaine knew something was wrong. He hadn't seen her all afternoon. She always popped her head in just to say hi. He lifted her chin when she averted his gaze. "What is it, Claire? What's wrong?"
"Nothing," she said. She was terrible at lying. "I just needed some time alone. That's all."
"Something's wrong. I can see it in your eyes," he said not letting go of her chin.
She didn't want to lie to him. But she didn't know if she should tell him. She stood in front of where she left the French door open. She took a long deep shuddered sigh. She closed her eyes as she said, "I was talking to Kimmie at lunch. I found out something about Ty." She turned to look back at him folding her arms across her chest. "I didn't want to bother you. That's all."
Blaine clenched his jaw. Damn. He knew why Claire didn't come to him. Because he told her he wanted him out of her system. "Claire," he said.
"I'm sorry, Blaine," she said as the tears began to fall. "I shouldn't have said anything. I didn't mean. Please don't be mad," she cried.
Blaine was angry with himself. He should have never told her that. All it did was push her away. He probably should be happy about that but he wasn't. He closed the distance between them and pulled her into his arms. He let out a sigh of relief when she slid her arms inside his unbuttoned blazer. And buried her face in his neck. "I should have never told you that, Claire," he said softly. "I was just trying to keep it professional. Forgive me for saying that."
Claire pulled back from him slightly and smiled. "Of course I forgive you," she said. She played with his tie. "I wanted to tell you. Honest."
"I want you to come to me with anything, Claire. I care about you," he said reaching behind her pulling her hair down. Playing with a strand in between his fingers.
"I care about you too," Claire whispered. She desperately wanted him to kiss her.
Blaine knew he shouldn't do what he was about to do. But he couldn't stand seeing those beautiful chestnut eyes so sad. He placed his hand under her chin placing a gentle kiss on her lips. Letting them linger, he could still the wine on them. He moved his hands up to her cheeks bringing her face closer to his. "I can't stop thinking about you, Claire," he said, his voice barely a whisper.
Claire didn't want Blaine to leave. She didn't care if they did anything or not. She wanted him next to her. She didn't even care if she told him about Ty. The fact that he was there was good enough for her. She slid her arms up around his neck and asked, "Can you stay? Please. We don't have to do anything. I just want you here. That's all." She held his neck tighter.
Blaine pulled her back running his thumb along her bottom lip. "Is that what you really want?"
"Yes," Claire softly bringing her hand up to his cheek.
Blaine brought her hand that was on his cheek to his lips. "Okay," he said. He pulled her by that hand and led her to the sofa. "Tell me all about what Kimmie said."

Claire watched Blaine as he slept. She had gotten up to use the bathroom. Those three glasses of wine kicked in. He looked so gentle while he slept. And not the powerful businessman she knew he could be. He was sleeping on his back with one arm outstretched towards her pillow. She ran her fingers through his medium brown hair. She swore every time he stood in the sunlight it looked like he had flecks of gold. She was beginning to realize just how much she cared about him. Even though he was the only person she had that she could talk to. If she did have other people to talk to she would still run to him. He didn't make her feel shy or awkward like Ty did. He thought she was beautiful with her glasses on. Ty never once told her, she was beautiful in them. He always said they made her look too smart.
He is so damn sexy. Claire thought as she ran her manicured finger down Blaine's abs. He was sleeping in his briefs. She stopped where the blankets covered his waist. He was 5'11 and built but not overly muscular. She carefully pulled the blankets down. She wanted to see him. I wondered how he would feel inside my mouth. What it would feel like against my tongue. She thought as she skimmed her finger along the top of the waistband of his briefs. She wanted to slip her fingers inside. She wanted to touch him again. She thought about the night at her door. When he cumed on her hand. She felt herself getting wet at the thought of him cuming inside her. Blaine's wasn't big, but he wasn't small either. He was perfect. She couldn't resist it any longer. She lightly traced her index finger down the length of his cotton-covered dick. She gasped when she heard.
"Claire."
"I just..." She stammered stopping at this tip. "I..." She felt herself blushing. She buried her face in her hands.
Blaine raised up and pulled Claire's hands down so he could look at her. "Hey," he said softly pulling her to him. "Don't be embarrassed."
She pulled away from him and buried her face under her pillow. "I am so sorry," she cried. She couldn't look him in the eye. She was horrified. "I was watching you sleep. And... And..."
Blaine removed the pillow from Claire's head leaned over and whispered, "I watched you sleep the night we met."
Claire turned and looked at him and asked, "Really? Wait you didn't?"
Blaine laughed as he pulled her to him. "No. I was a perfect gentleman," he said. He leaned back against the headboard pulling Claire onto his lap. "Even though I wanted to."
"You wanted to touch me?" she asked coyly. Running her fingers down his chest.
"Yes. I still do," he said seriously.
"Where?" Claire asked. She suddenly wanted Blaine's hands on her.
"Claire."
"Where, Blaine? Where do you want to touch me?" she asked raising the t-shirt she was wearing up over her head. Throwing it down on the floor. Blaine touching her was all she wanted. She needed his hands on her.
"Claire," Blaine warned.
"Where, damn it?" Claire said bringing his hand to her lacy-covered crotch. "Here?" Slipping one of his fingers inside.
Blain felt how wet she was for him. "Yes, Claire. I want to touch you there. I want to touch you everywhere," he said roughly. As much as he wanted to bury his fingers deep inside her and make her cum. He knew she was upset about him. "Claire," she said as he pulled his fingers out of her bikini.
"Touch me, Blaine," she pleaded. "I need you to touch me," she begged.
"Claire, I promise when the time is right I will touch you," Blaine soothingly.
Claire got off of Blaine and stood with her back facing him. She folded her arms across her chest. "No, you won't. You don't want me either. Ty didn't want me. Nobody wants me," she sobbed.
Blaine realized this new information about Ty was sending Claire over the edge. "Claire," he said slowly getting off the bed. "I do want you. It's taking all the strength I have not to make love to you."
Claire turned to look at him. Her eyes filled with tears. "Then why won't you?"
It was taking all the strength Blaine had not to say fuck it. And burying himself deep inside her and fuck her senseless. He pulled Claire to him. He slid his hands down her ass stopping at the entrance to her pussy. "I want to slide my fingers so deep inside you," he whispered hoarsely. "You're still getting over him, Claire."
Claire shook her vigorously. "No! No!" she yelled. "I want you, Blaine." She flicked her tongue across his nipple. "I don't want him," she cried.
Blaine inhaled sharply at the feel of Claire's tongue on his flesh. Shit. He thought. He didn't know how much more he could take. Before he lost all sense of reason. Her perfect tiny breast was too damn tantalizing. And knowing how wet she was for him. "Claire, you're upset."
"No!," Claire yelled slamming her fist into his chest. "I am so sick and tired of men telling me how I feel!" she screamed. "You're just like him!" she screamed at him pointing her finger. "You have no idea how I feel. How I... How I..." All the hurt and humiliation came crashing to the surface. Claire could hold back the tears even if she wanted to. She wanted to run and hide. She didn't want Blaine to see her like this. She turned her back towards him and whispered, "I think you should leave."
Blaine wasn't leaving her like this. He couldn't even if he wanted to. He walked up behind her and turned her towards him. He pulled her into his arms and said, "I'm not going anywhere." He held onto her tighter when she tried to break free.
Claire slowly slid her arms up around Blaine's neck. "I hate this," she cried into his neck. "I feel so stupid. Everyone told me he was bad news. I didn't listen. Now I don't know what to do anymore." She held onto Blaine tighter. "I'm so scared Blaine."
"Shh. I know. He never deserved you," he said. That need to protect her was surfacing.
"I don't want you to go," Claire sobbed.
"I'm not leaving," Blaine said as he swept her up in his arms. He laid her down and climbed in beside her. He pulled her to him and let her cry. He stroked her back and whispered soothing words. He kissed the top of her head when her sobs became little sniffles.
Claire finally pulled herself together. She looked up at Blaine shyly. "I'm sorry," she said quietly. "I guess it finally hit me."
Blaine kissed her forehead. "There's nothing to apologize for," he said soothingly. He kissed her nose. "So damn beautiful," he said as he brought his lips to hers. He was tired of fighting wanting to kiss her. He took his time exploring her soft lips. He slipped his tongue inside when Claire gave him access to her awaiting tongue. Taking his time exploring her mouth.
Claire sighed when Blaine kissed her. His kiss was so different than Ty's. He was so gentle yet so passionate. She slid her fingers into his hair deepening the kiss. She wanted Blaine but she knew she needed to get over Ty. "I want us," she said when Blaine broke the kiss. "I know I have to get over Ty. I just need to know you will always be there."
"I want us, too," Blaine said. He didn't care anymore if she was his employee. He wanted to be with her. To always be her protector. "I will always be there," he promised.
