So the first day dawns upon us all. Here's the prompt: "It’s time for you and Writer’s Block to part ways. Write a letter breaking up with Writer’s Block, starting out with, “Dear Writer’s Block, it’s not you, it’s me …” " 602Please respect copyright.PENANAMGpj3PQ44F

It’s not you, it’s me. God, that’s the most cliché thing I’ve ever said. Er – discard that entire phrase, if you please. I lost my eraser, so this is my only shot at this. Don’t hold it against me. Look, I’m writing this to you because this needs to stop. Us, I mean. Oh, that sounds mean. Ugh, I didn’t intend for it to come out like that. Yeesh, this letter isn’t off to a good start. Or middle. I doubt the end will be any better.602Please respect copyright.PENANA3CWqLpyaxQ

A-Anyway, you’ve been stopping me from doing what I want to do. I know you dislike Writing with a passion, but I just can’t have you stopping me from it anymore. I love Writing. There! I said it! You can’t stop me! We’ve been a bad relationship from the get-go. You said you could make me happy, that I didn’t have to write at all, that “people would understand.” Well, you were wrong. I can’t tell you how many people message me asking if I’m alright, if I’ve had enough sleep, and when the next chapter for Minecraft is coming out because I swear people love that one. But none of love it more than I.602Please respect copyright.PENANA13G6RxN7gS

You can’t stop the story from ending. It’s kind of a system, get it? A story systematically has a beginning, middle, and an end. The first two can come easily enough, but the middle usually starts to slug everything down. You say “There’s no way we can string this all together! What could you even do to tie this up nicely?” but you know what? It doesn’t have to end like that. Who ever said that my stories needed a happy ending? Ohh, not-so-dear Writer’s Block, nobody ever said that. There are no specifications on that little bit. Why did you think I killed the main character? Wha- no it wasn’t because I had run out of ideas! You and I both know that I planned that since the start.602Please respect copyright.PENANAlUnC13PFm1

Ugh, look, you got me all fired up. Like I said in the intro, we’re through. I can’t do this anymore. Writer’s Block, let us split our ways. Go in opposite directions. Stop playing Marco-Polo. Whatever you want to call it, I need to breathe. So leave, good Block, and never come back.602Please respect copyright.PENANA5BCaLc8okN
