To be thrown in such a tumultuous world in tumultuous times was the fate of the Esper-bearer. It was, at this time, the weight the Blackwood family had to carry. Bastard of a peasant girl and one of the princelings of Aventyne, Vyncent Blackwood, set off from his homeland to rid himself of this curse.
Across the sea, rumors tell of an exorciser as old as the dirt the first men have tread. Once he meets him, Vyncent hopes his family's blood to be cleansed of the essence of Espers, but with it, the extinction of all magic from this realm.
Note on Chronology
Blackwood is told through the point-of-view of characters who may or may not be miles apart from each other. Chapters may cover a day, a few hours, or even several months; a day covered in one chapter may be within a week of a preceding chapter. Things may have also simultaneously occurred between multiple chapters. Because of this, the narrative is not sequential for the most part.Map of the Known World

When the sun falls beneath the trees and cityscapes, how safe do you feel? Is all there is to fear are malefactors that lurk in the darkest corners of the city, between the buildings? Or maybe the animals in the wild, looking for a meal that you hope you won't become?
Be glad that is all you have to fear! For there have been many a dark night where the very blood and flesh was the desire of an unstoppable curse on humanity. But brave heroes throughout centuries did not falter before the queen of the manananggal, a creature of legend, the Leathern Queen of the Night.
On one of the Islas de San Pedrois where she sleeps, once again defeated by demon slayers, whose songs will go unsung for no one knew their names, and buried in salt and ash and impaled with three stingray lances, in an unknown tomb.
For centuries she has stayed dormant, but her awakening is near.

Wes Tenley is a humble man that scapes whatever he can to support both his wife, Rose, and his infant daughter, Margarette. He is one of several cotters in a village named Harshel that sits near the western coast of the great country of Villaden. One day, a mysterious beggar is taken prisoner, and, to earn a few more copper reeds to buy a little extra food to celebrate his wife's birthday, he takes an offer to guard this man overnight. The dark secrets that this prisoner holds changes not only the life of Wes, but the lives of those living in Villaden.
This story is inspired on a dream I had. I woke up at 4 AM and was unable to go back to sleep, so I just built this story around it.
An intelligence agency is investigating strange events that have been occurring in different parts of the country. People go missing. In the rare instances they do return or are found, they come back either in a stupor, or violent and deranged. When questioned, they also seem to mention a "prince," of whom they will either greatly fear or admire profusely.
The story starts off with three agents sneaking in a mansion owned by a person of interest. It is on this night some kind of major event was to happen, according to what the agency could gather.
A collection of short stories.
These are short stories are done in a third person POV. A single character is followed and their story is told. The genres of the stories within may vary. I find that I have a lot of inspirations to make stories, just sitting on the bus, on a train, or while I'm not falling asleep in bed. When I'm not looking for writing a large piece, but I really want to write or have an inspiration for something small, I'll place it here in this collection as a short story.
I wrote this short story two years ago for an assignment in my college English class. This is one of the first short stories I have written.
At the time, I was playing fantasy video games and reading George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire, series, so when I got this assignment, I thought, "Hey, I'll just write a fantasy story or something."
It is a fantasy inspiredby medieval Europe. There are some aspects of feudalism I guess you could say, concerning the setting. I'm not sure if this has to be said, but of course, it may not be exactly accurate to real life history, but it is a fantasy world made by my imagination, so inspiredis the big word here.
The story follows a knight who is caught between doing what is right and what his loyalty compels him to do.
Choose a character that died in one of your stories or a character that you have not written of yet but want to test out.
Your character will wake up in an unknown dark warehouse with only the bare essentials. All of the contestant's characters will be separated into different warehouses in this old abandoned town. It's up to you to guide them into meeting up with the other contestants to figure out where they are and how to leave. If your character has powers then those powers have to be taken back throughout the story.
The direction of the story, twists, and turns, all depend on your creativity and teamwork with the other participating writers. I hope this will give birth to new friendships and renewed creativity.
