(Ace Katsuro)
I walked into ForahNews. Just as I thought. Kasumi was sitting at the main desk. Dark blue walls with white neon lights.Kasumi was sitting in the chair, one leg over the other. She was surprised by my appearance. “You’re here…does that mean…” . Before I could say anything, she attempted one of those unsettling smiles again. She was clearly amused. “Ace, you have no idea how excited I am to see you.”
I took a step back. “I’m only here to ask a few things. That’s it.”
She frowned. “And you came for me to talk about this?”
“You’re the only council member alive-Astrid seems like a bodyguard to you,” I pointed out. “You basically run this show.”
“Thank you-”
“I just think that you know more about my case.”
Silence.
Laughter erupted from her lips. “Ahahahaha, Ace of course I know about your case. As you said, I was a member of the council. Since I was part of that, I was permitted to see the files regarding your case.”
“But you also used me as bait to take down the border to let your squad enter,” I explained. “And finished off with killing the rest of the council members, excluding Astrid.”
Her hand rested against her cheek. She nodded as though she was recalling the events. She finally said, “Yeah, I suppose I did that. But what’s wrong with it? I mean, it’s not like anything flawed, and no I don’t care about morals.”
“There’s something wrong…with my case.” If my gut feeling is correct, I might be able to find a new truth. If she is willing to tell me, that is. I need this truth to be revealed. So she won’t let me feel that guilt again.
“Is that so?” She asked. “What’s wrong with your case? You killed your parents, you admitted to killing them, so there should be nothing wrong with that.”
I tried sliding that comment aside. “That’s not it! It doesn’t make any sense!”
Another silence.
She lifted her head from her hand, before proceeding to roll her eyes. “Elaborate.”
“When you were using me as bait, you had to capture me and forced me to feel angry, grief, and fear,” I began.
“The negatives, yes.” She replied flatly.
“And then it happened,” I continued. “I couldn’t exactly control it. My only motive in that state was to destroy out of hatred. But back then with my case… I felt nothing. In fact, I wasn’t angry to begin with. See how that doesn’t make any sense?”
She stood up from the desk and began pacing around. The sound of dull footsteps echoed throughout the room. “Of course…you weren’t the one who was angry,” She spun toward me. “I was!”
What did that mean? I thought, taking another step back. I have to take caution. “What?”
She began walking toward me. “I hide things too. We’re not that different.”
“I’m not like you,” I immediately replied. “You’re just a human.”
“Is that so?” She whipped out a knife and sliced her skin on her arm. Black liquid dripped onto the floor. “Our bloods are unique, you and I.”
I recoiled in disgust. “Ew, is that tar?”
“It’s blood, trust me,” She said. “I am a creature too, technically, and I have an ability too.”
“Wh-What?”
“I have the power of control,” She explained, looking at her hand. “I can go through anyone’s body if they’re within my range. Of course, I’m not telling you what the range is about. Anyway, I can control anyone, as long as I know what they look like. I wanted revenge on Amelia, but she wasn’t that strong. I mean, she was just a mere human, right? However, she showed me a photo of someone else,” She was tapping her nail against her temple. “And with that photo in mind, I was able to control someone that could create a bloody mess in a short amount of time.”Someone to control…I thought in horror. Someone to create a bloody mess. The pieces were connecting. Then, I felt my blood begin to boil. I glared. “You…” I lunged at her but she leaped back and ran to the storage room. I could feel the presence of my wings, so that would give me an advantage. I want her to die. She caused everything. I hurried to the storage room, which was around the corner. I smashed my fist into the walls. It crumbled down. I then swung my first at the shelves, which tumbled down. She finally revealed herself. She was holding a chain. I threw a punch but missed. She dodged again, and climbed onto the still stable shelf. I struck at the shelf, making her fall onto the floor. She staggered out of the room. I shot hot lasers at her once I found her in a room with a lot of cameras. She swerved her body to dodge them. I lunged at her again which knocked her back. I scratched her across the face, making black liquid leak out of her skin. She laughed. “Getting feisty, huh?” Before thrusting the sharp knife into my stomach. She immediately pulled it back. She then kicked me and I fell back onto the floor. The doors opened. Her teammates were here.
“Tie him up.” Kasumi ordered.
How did they get here? I thought, glancing around. It doesn’t matter. I’ll kill them all. Before they attempted to tie me, I scratched them, and beat them up before delivering them to the storage. Finally.

I was back with Kasumi, breathing heavily. She tried throwing things nearby. Papers, pens, a laptop, but I dodged through all of them. I leaped to her again and this time I pinned her down. I grasped her neck to keep her in place. I was providing her with a huge grin. A grin that would make her regret everything. Time to die. Her face showed fear for just a second, as I lifted my other arm to send off a final blow.
That’s when I heard a familiar voice, “Ace, stop!”
