Taehyung #1
You:
You’re at a BTS concert. You’re here with your best friend, Olivia. You and Olivia are in the front row. You guys got here 30 minutes ago, in your car, a 2020 ford explorer. You have your army bomb, a sign, a black BTS hoodie for if you get cold, black jeans, and a pair of black uggs on. A lot of people were here. A lot of people are here.
You look around you and see thousands of fans. You see lights, you see army bombs already up in the air, you see the moon. It’s only 5:45. “The concert starts in 5 minutes,” Olivia says. You hug her tight. She hugs back. “Y/n, you are 20 now. There is no need to be shy,” Olivia teases you, laughing. “Shut up. I’m not shy,” You say, laughing. You are shy. “Mhm, sure.” Olivia says. You swat at her.
Boom! A big explosion goes off. You look up to the stage and see fireworks coming from it and going high into the sky. You watch as Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, V, Suga, j-hope, and RM come running onto the stage. Fans immediately start screaming. You don’t though. You don’t want to draw attention to yourself. Last time that happened, your mom almost yelled at V. You have a flashback:
You were in the front row and you were screaming. You were screaming and yelling for V. “Your voice is amazing, V! I love you!” You screamed. Your mom was next to you. “Y/n, remember your place. You are only 17,” She said. You heard her but you did not stop screaming. You were waving your army bomb. That is when V actually looked at you. You immediately stopped screaming, jumping, and waving your bomb.
V looked at you like you were everything he’d wanted. At least, that’s what your mom thought. He bent down and handed you a bandana. You took it and looked into his eyes. He smiled and you and you smiled right back as you tied the bandana on your army bomb. He reached out for your hand and held it for about 10 seconds before your mom started yelling. “What do you think you are doing, young man!? Why are you holding her hand!?” Your mom yelled, snatching your hand.
“Ma-ma!” You whine-yelled. V looked hurt that your hand got ripped away. He reached his hand out again with a longing look and you reached back out. “No! Y/n, come on! We’re leaving!” Your mom yelled and started dragging you away from V. His arm still outstretched to you and your’s to him, he sang words that didn’t go with the song the group was singing.
You come out of your flashback to ‘Idol’. You started to sing, dance, and wave your army bomb with the bandana still on it, forgetting the flashback. You sang with Olivia. You hugged her and danced with her. In senior year of high school, you guys took time to learn dance routines from kpop music videos. You guys danced along to the songs and sang.
“I wish that you would love me,” Olivia sang all she knew. “Eojecheoleom dasi i son nohji malgo,” You sang to her. “And every time my heart beats,” She sang to you. “Bal majchwobwa dasi deoneun hemaeiji anhdolog, unmyeong-eul neukkyeo neol neol, unmyeong-eul neukkyeo nal nal nal,” You sang loudly to her, your eyes closed tight. You hear your voice all around. You open your eyes and see Olivia staring at you then staring at whoever was over the railing. Right there, in front of you, was V, off the stage and holding his microphone in your face.
That is why I heard myself. Well, no wonder- Wait! V is right in front of me! You look at him, but he is no longer focused on your face. He is focused on the bandana on your army bomb. “May I?” He asks, softly. You nod and hand him the army bomb, hoping he’ll recognize you. He stares at the bandana, the boys on the stage staring at him and you, the fans going crazy all around you. You watch as he examines the bandana. “Are you…” He says. You nod, knowing he’s asking if you’re the same girl as before. He takes the bandana in his microphone hand and takes one of your hands.
You blush and Olivia stares at you in astonishment. Finally he sings to you the same lyrics he sang years ago. “You’re beautiful as the flower I picked yesterday,” He sings. He wants to see if I remember. I remember you, V. He slowly hands you his microphone, not letting go of your hand. You put the microphone to your lips. “Will you take its place in my heart?” You sing.
Disregarding the fans all around you guys, he effortlessly pulls you over the railing. “Oh, I’ve looked for you everywhere.” He says. “I’m right here with you now, V.” You say. He wraps his arms around and says; “Call me Taehyung.” You nod. “Now that I’ve risked your life,” He jokes. “Looks like I’m gonna need a guard to be by your side.” He says. “Seems like it,” You say.
He puts you next to a guard, hands you the bandana, and climbs back onto the stage. You turned to Olivia and couldn’t find her. Where has she gone? “Olivia?” You yell with cupped hands. “Olivia~!” You yell. You peek up at the stage where V is standing. You feel like he’s singing to you. But right now, you need to find your friend.
How to get away is the question. I have got it! You start to slide away from the guard and go under the railing. After you are far from the guard, you run around looking for Olivia. You find her in a bathroom. “Olivia Munirez, what are you doing here?” You say. “Go away, Y/n.” She says. She’s crying. But why? “Why’re you crying, Olivia?” You say. “Please go away.” She says. “Let me in, Olivia. Unlock it,” You say, pushing at the door. She snatches the door open. “Go away, I said!” She screams.
Your eyes widen in astonishment. “W-why are you yelling at me?” You say. Your eyes fill with pain, hurt, and tears. She doesn’t look at you. “Just leave me alone.” She says. You turn and start to walk away, but then you start full on sprinting back to the concert. When you get there, guards are looking for you. “Come,” one says. You let him drag you back stage. You try not to cry from Olivia.
You get a good view of the concert but you are too hurt to enjoy it anymore. Why was Olivia mad at me? What did I do? I thought we were best friends forever. That was the plan. Is it because we aren’t fourteen anymore? I want to be with Taehyung.
At the end of the concert, cheers go up, everyone is happy and in a good mood. Expect for Olivia, you think. When the boys come off of the stage, they all look at you, in your hoodie. V walks over to you and you try to smile. You fail miserably. He wraps an arm around your waist and with the other he holds your face. You let a single tear fall out.
“What’s wrong?” He asks, wiping your tear away. You reach up your hands and rest them on his shoulders. “I- I don’t know, exactly. My best friend, Olivia, is mad at me and I don’t know why. She won’t talk to me any longer.” You say. He looks into your eyes and smiles. “Listen, you should know that if she wasn’t your friend after whatever happened, she wasn’t your friend before.” He says. “But- That can’t be right,” You say. You sigh and rest your head on his shoulder.
“Taehyung, we’ve promised to be best friends forever. I love her and she loves me, but I think the problem….is you,” You say. “What?” He says, looking down at you. “I don’t know. This all just happened tonight. After we met again.” You say. “ If that is how you feel then go. I’m not gonna force you to stay. After all these years, I’m just glad I got to see you again,” He says and pulls his arms away from you. “Wait, no-” You try. He pushes you away gently. “Just know that I loved you when I first touched your hand,” He says. You try to grab for him but he moves away, walks away towards where the other boys went, and leaves you alone.
You begin to want to cry. You run out of the backstage and to the bathroom where Olivia was. She no longer is. You pull out your phone and try to call her. After her declining your 37 calls, you give up and run to your car. You jump into it and scream. “Why me~!?” You scream. You punch your seat over and over and over, as you cry. You press the button in your car and it starts up. Your phone immediately connects to bluetooth and the last song played comes back on.
“Sleep like a winter bear,” V sings in his song. You cry harder. I had a chance. I ruined it. I had a friendship. I ruined it. I had a life. I ruined it. You drive home after you stop crying enough, as to the point where you can see. As you walk into your house and you look for your pet, you get a Twitter notification. You take out your phone, lazily and look at the post from Big Hit Entertainment’s Twitter.
‘오늘 밤 공연이 끝난 후 태형이 몸이 안 좋다고 말씀 드리게되어 유감입니다. 그는별로 아프지 않지만 다음 주가 아닌 내일 이후에 한국으로 떠날 것입니다. 마지막으로 만나고 싶다면 아미, 토크쇼에 오세요. 좌석이 300 개 더 남았으니 빨리 잡아!’ or ‘After the performance tonight, I am sorry to tell you that Taehyung is not feeling well. He is not very sick, but he will be leaving for Korea after tomorrow, not next week. If you want to meet for the last time, ARMY, come to the talk show. There are 300 more seats left, so grab it!’
You look at the Tweet again. You look at your dog and then look up the talk show they’re going on tomorrow. You buy the absolute last ticket then you get ready for bed. That night you cry yourself to sleep and cuddle up alone again, in the dark.
Again a part two will come, this is too long as well. Enjoy! -Steph
