There she was, standing valiantly within the swirling dust of war. His little sister had become battle born, a bringer of destruction and fire. Their times as children were long gone, and in the moment Raxseis stood in he found it hard to grasp onto the better times between them. All he could see was the ferocity and need for vengeance in her piercing gaze. It cut him deeper than any sword ever could, and for a split second, the King let his pride go and thought back to all he had done to damage the sweet and nieve girl she had once been.
The dragons once held captive, began to rally behind their chain breaker. Each and every one now focused eerily upon the dragon fear that had come to run through their suppressor's veins. They could smell it, taste and feel it thrumming through every beat his heart made. Together, their resilience had come to beat the man, and now it was time to see his reign put to an end. Raxseis watched on as his sister and aunt began to fight back to back in a shower of blood and bone. To him, her pregnancy was no impairment, despite the large size of her belly. Adalaya had come to fight as well as men forged in the acts of battle. Her face was covered with blood, her armored gown had come to transform into an entirely new pattern of fabric sown in the acts of war. The steel of her gown seemed to reflect the ruby pigments of her enemies. The tar like satin wrapped around her curves like a rushing river turning a bend, allowing its dark hue to become splattered in the treasures of war. One after the other Raxseis watched as his men fell to the blade of his beloved. For several long moments, silence fell over the battlefield, and he came to accept the fact, that now, she was aiming to strike him down.
Like a coward, he turned upon heel and ran. His feet did not manage to carry him far, within an instant he now stared down the pulsating eyes of the Keeper. His white fur gleamed under the sun, its coat of strands littered with ruby tears. His flews came to ripple as he bared his fangs and slowly stepped closer. The white hound's body shadowed his own, and suddenly he felt smaller than he ever had. The cold kiss of steel rushed over the back of his neck, cooling the heat of his exhaustion upon his flesh. He jumped, startled that somehow someone had at last caught up with him. He looked over his shoulder and took his first close sight of his long lost lover. The edge of the blade traveled around to his throat before at last, it left him. The pair locked eyes, one set filled with regret, the other with satisfaction.
He couldn't find the proper words, again his pride came to rear its ugly head, preventing him from bending the knee and surrendering. A dark and sadistic grin came to paint itself over the delicate features of the woman. No words were shared, none needed to be. Her expression showed the King all he needed to know. Their love had been lost and his sister, what was left of her, was forever gone to him. She faded away leaving him to the mercy of he who protected all.
Through the smoke and dust, she went calling for Incendartu in a language even Raxseis could not understand. He could feel the cool, damp touch of fur running over his figure, the hound was circling him. His heart began to beat out into the thin flesh of his chest, and only then did he fear death. It washed over him in the most sorrowful of ways. "Please, spare my life so that I may correct my wrongs." The Keeper came to face him again, this time, it spoke. "I do not hold the right to sever your cord of life, for you judgment rests in the hands of you sister." Finally, the sounds of war came to flood into his ears once more. He could hear the song of clashing steel and feel the heat of dragon fire at his back. The wails of pain and death joined the ballad, making him accept the fact he had lost.
The hound trotted off into the bloodbath aiding his allies in the final closing of the battle. Raxseis stood alone, in the center of a field he had once been chosen to rule over, and now all that was left was ash and death. His long awaited coronation had become one of misery, leaving him to be crowned the King of bereavement.
Incendartu followed behind his mistress, watching as she stood silently watching his fires burn. With one motion of her hand, his head came to lower. Offering her one of his horns, the dragon lifted her from the ground and turned his neck to set her atop him. She made herself comfortable, her hand washing over the steel that protected her belly. "This my child is my gift to you." Incendartu lifted from the soft soil beneath his feet and began to circle the Keep of Morgeideign. With one pulsating call every dragon that held the ability to fly followed his lead. Their jaws spread open and shot streams of fire toward the stone and brick. Nearly eighty dragons came to bring the castle and its surroundings into the dirt, their fire and toxins melting the rock and brick as if snow to the sun. The heat permeated for miles around, causing all within the circumference to sweat and flee from the wave of destructive heat.
The Princess watched on as her birthplace rapidly began to crumble beneath her power, at that moment, it was she who felt like a ruler. The castle and all who held the misfortune of finding refuge within it sank into a crater in the ground.Their bones and memories erased from history for all eternity. Exsidious had managed to crawl away from the carnage. His thigh had suffered a damaging blow from an arrow that had come to graze him. He looked up and watched his sister who had seemed to have gone mad with power. The world he knew had come to an end, and now, Adalaya sat the creator of the new order. He scanned the area frantically, praying his brother would come into view. His prayers were answered as he saw Raxseis running from the raging inferno. "Brother!" He called, his voice straining to reach its highest pitch. Raxseis made his way over, his hands falling onto his brother's shoulders. "We have to get out of here! We have to run Exsidious all has been lost!" He pulled him to standing and aided his limping gate into the cover of the nearby forest.
Hours passed like days, and when the moon came to shine, Adalaya and her warriors had left. In her wake, the Princess had left her mark in death and retribution. The flames had come to calm, but the sky remained black with soot and the aftermath of war. The titan like dragons who had come to aid her had vanished. In the frenzy, no one had even seen the direction they had come to take in their leave. The Keeper was long gone, he had left just as he had come, in a flash of sound and brilliance. All that was left now was a leveled kingdom with no subjects or survivors. The brothers huddled together, unsure why they had been left alive. Raxseis came to ponder the thought that Adalaya wanted them to live with this. Live with the fact they were the last of their line, with no way of resurrecting their once great house. All she had done, to the innocent and the guilty had been a way of proving a point. As he sat cowering in the tree's the King of nothing had come to heed her point and her promise.
