So I really really like this guy. He's in my grade, but taking French and I take Spanish, so we're only in math together. He's one of the tallest kids in the grade and has long black hair. Not shoulder length, ponytail long, but just longer than most boys hair. He's not super athletic, which I'm not either, but does do a YMCA training thing on Fridays after school. He's smart, and we're in the highest math class together. He's extremely mature and polite, which is rare for someone in my grade. We always choose to be partners when we can, and talk all the time. According to my closest friend, he seems genuinely interested when we're having a conversation, and I always catch him staring at me. Honestly, I stare at him too. We hang out during play rehearsals and I always have a fun time when I'm hanging out with him. We text until all hours of the night, sometimes having lighthearted conversations about how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop, but most of the time we have deep, serious conversations about things like what we want to be when we grow up, world events, and just about everything.
The trouble is that we've been friends for about a year, and I'm afraid of ruining that. My friend dated one of her friends for almost 6 months before they broke up, and now they still can't speak to each other without it being awkward. And last year, this boy really liked someone else, who was his friend, and she didn't even nicely tell him no, she completely rejected him, started rumors, and bullied him. He tries to pretend like it never happened, but I can tell it still affects him.
Another issue is my friends. I told my best friend because I tell her everything, and she made me tell another one of our friends, which I don't have a problem with. All my other friends know I like someone, they just don't know who. I'm afraid if I tell them, they'll make a big scene and accidentally tell him. My friend and I are always exchanging looks and she nudges me and stuff when he's around, but my other friend will call across the room for me to go sit next to him and make it pretty obvious that I like him.
The final problem is that I'm hopefully going to a different school next year, which he knows. Surprisingly, he is the most supportive of me, even more so than my closest friend. I'm just afraid if he does ever end up asking me out, we won't be able to maintain a relationship.
I'm pretty sure he likes me, and I've liked him since this summer. We understand each other, and share some of the same interests. I love debating anything and everything with him, even if we're on the same side of the argument, and I thoroughly enjoy his company. I just wish I had a way of knowing whether or not he liked me.
If you've made it through my entire thing, congratulations. This has just been on my mind a lot lately, and I was just texting my crush soooo. Adios!ns188.8.131.52da2
