Colt Hudson lived a tough life living with his father, mother, Grandpa, and his older brother Lukas. they lived in a farm off Emerald Ranch, real simple life herding sheep riding horses and a whole bunch of other stuff. when Colt was 16 his Father was killed by lawmen, Colt knew his dad had a dark side but never knew it would come to this. a few years later at 19 in 1889 he decided he didnt want to live the farm life anymore with his mother and Lukas always pushing him around. He left not knowing where to go who to trust or what to do, with only 50 dollars to his name Colt went to Blackwater looking for work. After 4 months when he was working at the saloon an older man came in and had a beer. he talked to Colt he told him that he was a member of the Vander Linde gang and that his name was Hosea. After talking to Hosea for an hour he tells Colt that if he were to mentor him into being a gunslinger he can join. Hosea tells Colt to meet him by a campsite a few miles out of Blackwater in the Great Plains. The next day Colt goes out to the campsite and greets Hosea, Hosea hands Colt a carbine repeater and a revolver and tells him to shoot at the bottles he lined up on a fence not too far away. After a week or two of mentoring Colt with the bottles he moves onto hunting animals and such after a month of doing that Colt is accepted into the Van der Linde gang
