"Happy Halloween, mister!"
Seeing off a group of children, Tyson gave yet another amiable smile when several turned to wave at him again. Once they had gone, the raven's expression flattened once he had left the haunted trail. Glancing at the entrance, he nodded stiffly when one of the officers assisting with the attraction gave him the all clear to take a much needed break. Passing by the outer perimeter of the corn maze, the man came to a halt as one of the hay rides went by.
"Tyson!"
Turning around to be greeted by the smiling brunette waving shyly, Ty walked towards the woman to see her rocking somewhat nervously on the heels of her shoes. Offering a smile, though he was sure she could not detect it, the man approached before fixing the black witch hat nestled on the head of wavy brown hair. Tilting her head up just a bit, the man then set about adjusting the red and black lace collar before straightening the matching choker on her neck. Taking a step back to see that her dress was in order and finally her shoes, he slipped his hands in his back pockets after noticing the holster strapped to her leg.
"Scarlet, dear, did you wander from your post?" he asked after catching a glimpse of the dark lensed glasses from beneath the brim of her hat.
"No, no," she said quietly as she fingered the frills of her costume. "Alexis is nearby."
Looking around, red eyes spotted the other female officer leaving a concession stand. Seeing the red and black striped bandana covering the green streaks in her hair, an amused smile creased the man's face as he spotted the black patch covering one of the woman's green eyes. A cream colored shirt adorned with thin, black ribbon on the sleeves adorned her upper half. An equally dark corset led down to the tattered red and black striped petticoat that was long enough to stop at the back of her knees but rose high enough in the front to show the pair of dark shorts. A short cutlass decked in red sash hung at her side while a holster was strapped just above the folds of her black boots.
"I take it that you both are on break?" Tyson asked once Alexis eased a can of soda into the other's hand. Dark eyes then watched as their quieter teammate signed a message. "You both are working the pumpkin carving competition?" The woman signed again. "Oh, you were working the contest." Alexis nodded once before drinking the bottle of water she had gotten for herself. "So where are you headed now?"
"Most of the children activities are just about done," Scarlet said once she was finished with her beverage, "so Alexis and I were instructed to make sure that there wasn't any one that was left behind or separated before we began tonight's rounds."
"So we do have duty…" Alexis signed, earning a scowl from the man. "No, I didn't think we'd actually have to work tonight." Red eyes narrowed somewhat as the woman gave another message. "It's not wrong to take a day off. We work every day after all," Tyson muttered.
"You say it as if you don't enjoy your job," Scarlet chimed.
"I never said I didn't enjoy my job. It's just…never mind." The officer then looked about. "Have any of you seen Evren?" The green-eyed woman signed something. "Wait, he's where?"
"I do believe he was tasked with running the automatons and lighting for the haunted house," the brunette said as she adjusted the hat that was just a tad big on her.
Red eyes then went towards the woman that was talking with her hands. "He was tasked with electronics in general?" She nodded. "Where is he then?"
"I think he's in the barn watching the surveillance cameras at the moment."
"Has he even taken a break?" Scarlet shrugged before Ty noticed the silent member signing something. "Well, why hasn't he?" He watched her hands before raising an eyebrow. "Weren't there supposed to be generators?" he questioned, feeling his eye twitch subtly as both females shrugged. "Fine, whatever. I'll see you both back at the station."
"Alright."
"Alexis, be sure to stay with Scarlet." She signed her reply. "I know you're not a seeing eye dog but-" Green eyes narrowed as she cut him off. "Alright! Damn, woman! Sorry, ok?" Massaging the side of his head as the green gaze flattened, red eyes focused on the brunette rocking slowly on the heels of her shoes. "Scarlet, try not to stray from Alexis, alright?"
"I'll be ok."
"You know your eyes aren't suited for-"
"I know, Ty! Go find Evren already. That's what you were going to do, right?"
"Alright, alright." Pulling a small, handheld radio from his pocket, Ty gestured towards the object before heading on his way. "Contact us if anything pressing occurs."
The man then slipped the communicator back into his pocket before heading to one of the concession stands to purchase a drink. After that had been completed, he made his way past the haunted trail, notifying the lower ranking officer that he was going to extend his break for just a bit longer. He then began to search for the barn. He hadn't actually seen the thing during his time there. If anything, he hadn't seen the white-haired officer all day either.
Evren had left the station before everyone else.
Knowing how he was, Tyson wouldn't have been surprised if he found his teammate dressed in their work attire or at least civilian clothes.
He really wasn't a seasonal kind of guy which was too bad since the taller man was itching to get a photo or something to tease him with later on down the road.
╤╩ Happy Halloween ╩╤
Panning his gaze over a series of images, mismatched eyes slowly averted themselves from the annoyingly bright screens. Massaging the side of his head for a moment, the officer got to his feet before walking away from his work space to stretch his limbs.
He had been there long before his team had arrived.
Hell, he had been there longer than some of the workers themselves.
Tasked with ensuring there would be no glitches in the systems, no potential shortages in the wiring, the man was more than just a little tired. His eyes hurt from staring at blinking lights and obnoxiously bright screens, just to make sure that the robotics of every attraction or ride was up to par.
Tired would be an understatement by this point.
"Yo, Princess, where are you?"
You have got to be joking me… Hearing the idiotic pet name once more, Evren contemplated on hiding before tensing as the raven shouted the name again. "Tyson," he said steadily yet loud enough to be heard, "I'm over here."
Making his way over to the lit area of the barn, Tyson slowed his pace to a crawl as he eased towards the officer that was typing away at a keyboard. Smiling as the man didn't seem to acknowledge him, the raven spun the chair around before taking a step back as mismatched eyes stared up at him from an even paler yet dirtied and seemingly withered face. Noting the dark blackish rings under his eyes, Tyson lowered his hands after looking at the somewhat dirty hair that no longer resembled snow white tresses. Tilting his head a bit to see what appeared to be an infected bite mark on the side of the man's neck, the taller male took a step closer before circling around the other who had averted his gaze in favor watching a screen showing one of the halls of the haunted house.
Observing the tattered and dirtied shirt, Tyson's smiled when he noticed another bite along the man's side. Creeping closer to it, he poked at the wound before pulling his hand back to have a thin and sticky red trail of what could've been saliva or blood. Poking at the bite again, Ty tilted his head in a curious matter since the wound felt strangely warm, as if it had just been inflicted. Glancing up to see the tight line of the man's jaw, Tyson stood to give the man a kiss to the cheek prior to wiping away the fake blood he got on his mouth.
"I didn't expect you to dress up, Princess," he chuckled, earning yet another scowl from his teammate. "It suits you."
"Believe me when I say that I wasn't going to dress up," Evren chided. "It's stupid and childish but the Director already had it picked out. He insisted that I wore it."
"Insisted, huh?" Evren continued to type along the keys before having his head tilted back towards the raven. "I like it," he said as he traced the pad of his thumb over the man's cheek. He then pulled his hand back as some of the skin peeled back with a small sickening sound. "Went all out, didn't he, Princess?"
"Stop calling me that stupid name," the other groused as he swatted the hand away. Glaring at the man, he then focused on the task he had been working on. "If all you did was come to see my costume, you can leave now."
"And here I came to give you a break," Tyson said, feigning hurt as he popped the cap of the bottle he brought along with him. "Go on and relax a little."
"There's too much to be done for me to relax. Unlike some people, I actually try to complete my work without shirking my responsibilities."
"Uh-huh…."
Taking a long drink as the other continued to berate him; Tyson turned the man's head in his direction before cutting him off with a kiss. Watching the other's oddly-colored eyes widened, Ty pulled away a few moments after hearing his zombie of a partner swallow what was poured into his mouth. As a light blush darted across the bridge of Evren's nose, the taller of the two offered a smile as well as the bottle.
"…you…" Evren made a face as the other's smile broadened. "…bastard."
"Yeah, yeah." Pulling the other from the stiff chair, Ty dragged the man to the side of the barn housing the bales of hay. "C'mon, take a break already."
"I have work."
"Take a break," he countered as he took a seat.
Seeing how the officer was leaning towards leaving, Ty took another swig from the container before grabbing a hold of Evren's wrist. Pulling him down into his lap before he could get out of reach, Tyson poured the liquid into the other's mouth just as he went to chastise him, yet alone try to electrocute him. Sitting up, he offered a smile as he saw how much darker the blush on the man's face had become. His eyes were also just a tad hazier than they had been some time ago.
Despite his sharp tongue, Evren was a bit of a lightweight.
Tyson had learned that a while ago but it was better not to let his partner have too much.
Hugging the man into him, Ty smiled when he heard the white-haired man mumble under his breath about something pertaining to getting back to work. Loosening his grip a bit when Evren sat up in a huff, Tyson held up his hands before offering the officer the bottle again.
"Thirsty?"
Grimacing at first, Evren looked over his shoulder after the power went out. "Dammit."
"Aren't there generators?"
"They keep going out," he groused as he stormed back towards the computer side.
"Where are they then?" Ty asked as he trudged behind the man that was tottering somewhat.
"On the other side of the bales but they don't seem to work. Don't touch anything. Just go back to your post so I can get back to work."
Rolling his eyes as he walked back to the other side of the barn, Ty shed a bit of light before circling around the bales to see several generators. Eyeing each one momentarily, the man kicked one in the side before stepping back as he heard a hum. Repeating his action when the sound had stopped, Tyson scowled before kicking the thing harder, only stopping when the others emitted a low humming sound. His attention then went upwards as he heard the power cut back on.
"Hey, Princess!" He rounded the hay to see the paler officer already storming over. "Hey, Pr-"
"What did you do?"
"I got the power going again."
"What did you do?" Evren questioned irritably.
"I kicked it."
"You…you kicked it?" The man nodded. "They haven't been working all this time and you're telling me they work now because-"
"I kicked them," Ty finished. "Yeah, I kicked them and they started working."
"Get out."
"What, why?!"
"I have work to do."
"You work too much."
"You don't work enough," Evren countered as he turned away. "Go back to your post."
Scowling as the man started to walk away, Tyson snagged a hold of the other's tattered shirt before pulling him back. Falling back into the bundles of hay, he chuckled when he caught a glimpse of the other's expression. Sitting up, he rolled both of them over the moment Evren hardened his stare.
"Are you still going to go back to work?"
"What do you think?" he questioned before shoving at the man's chest.
Having sharpened nails curl into his shoulders, Evren glared up at the man before tilting his head back a bit as he noticed what appeared to be dog-like ears nestled in the black and gold colored hair. Scowling at the man as he continued to dig his nails into his shoulders, Evren shoved at the man's chest again before pulling it back to see it stained red. Glancing back up as the lights went out yet again, the officer sighed aloud before feeling hot breath fanning across his face then neck.
'At least he brushed his damn teeth…' He was then startled as he felt a tongue run across his neck before slightly sharpened teeth dug their way in where the fake bite had been placed. "Tyson, stop." He winced as the pressure increased. "I'll shock you," he warned.
When the other had yet to relent, Evren pressed a hand to the man's chest though nothing happened. Narrowing his eyes for a moment, he flinched before gasping as the raven bit down harder. After the man sat up, Tyson swept his thumb across his lower lip before raising an eyebrow as Evren's face transitioned several shades darker in the dim light filtering in from the skylights.
"So, what happened to shocking me, Princess?" Having the other shove at his chest, Tyson grabbed hold of both his hands before pinning them to the ground. "What's the matter, hmm?" he asked as he leaned in.
"Ty-" Hearing something sweep along the floor, he tensed considerably before wincing as the man bit into the side of his neck once more. "Ty-!"
Sitting up again, Tyson watched Evren's expression for several seconds before feeling a smile crease his face, showcasing large, sharpened canines. "We're gonna play a game." As the other began to thrash about, he bit down on the officer's neck, emitting a low growl until Evren finally stopped. "Princ-"
"What do you want from me?" he asked shakily.
"I simply wanna play a game with you," Tyson replied before laving his tongue over the bitten area. He then shifted the other's hands into one before tracing a finger down the tattered shirt. "I merely want to see how quiet you can stay. If I'm satisfied, you can have a treat."
Squeezing his eyes shut, Evren cracked one open as the other male chuckled. "This isn't funny."
"I find it comical really." Claret eyes watched the mismatched ones before focusing on the bite mark. "You're still trying to shock me, aren't you?"
"What do you think, you smug bas~"
Seeing how quickly the other sat up due to the sound, Evren wiggled around before stilling as the man licked the newly inflicted wound. Tilting his head away, he grimaced as the man pressed a kiss to it before trailing several along his collarbone. Chewing his lip as they were trailed down his chest to the waistline of his pants, Evren tried getting his hands free as his face continued to flush.
"Just a heads up, if you run, I'll burn this place down and guess who'll be responsible for damage." He released the officer before rolling over to sit down. "Come here." Evren looked at him before looking in the direction of the exit. "I won't chase you," Tyson replied as he held up a small blazing ball. "I'm just saying that it's going to be quite difficult explaining why the barn burned down to D-"
"Ok, ok!" he said as he took a knee in front. "Just-"
Startled by a peck on the lips, Evren lowered his head before being pulled into the other. Having kisses peppered along his face then neck, the man flinched when he was turned around to be sat in the man's lap. He soon began to relax after a while.
As annoying as the kisses were, Evren had grown tolerable of them.
They were just the man's way of showing his affection, whether it was reciprocated or not.
"Evren." Said person tilted his head slightly but didn't do or say much else. "Ah, you're still being quiet I see," Tyson said as he slid his hand along the other's tattered pant leg. "I suppose you would like your treat, huh?"
"I just wanna go back to work," he muttered.
"What was that?" Hearing the officer grumble, Ty bit down on the opposite side of the man's neck, eliciting a small gasp. "I'm guessing you don't want your treat?" Evren bit his lower lip but said nothing. "You can speak as long as it pertains to my question."
"T…treat." Tyson hummed in question. "I want to pick it."
"Ok."
"O-ok?" Ty simply nodded. "Well, I wanna go back to work now."
"Ok."
"…ok?" He sat up when the man released his hold on his midsection. "Ok?"
He made out the nod of the raven's head before seeing the ears nestled on top twitch ever so subtly in the low light. Seeing the silhouette of something bushy swaying to and fro in the shadows, Evren recognized it to be a tail before heading back to his desk.
It was a bit odd how he was released so easily.
He then shook his head.
Tyson had his own work to do but Evren still couldn't believe how easily the man had let him go.
'…not like I was wanting him to keep me there…' Feeling his cheeks burn somewhat, Evren began to storm away before being swept off his feet. Glaring over his shoulder, he peered through the dark prior to spotting the longer appendage moving in an almost wagging fashion. "Tyson, what the f-"
"Did you really think I was going to let you go that easily, Princess?" Tyson asked as he dragged the man back towards the bales of hay.
"You goddamn liar!"
"I didn't lie per say, I just tricked you," he said with mirth. "You know, trick or treat?"
"T…Tricked me?" Feeling his eye as Ty chuckled, Evren swung at him merely to have his fist caught. "Bast-!"
Being caught off by a kiss, the white-haired officer growled under his breath before having himself pulled flush against the taller male. Having a hand slip down the front of his pants, Evren covered his mouth quickly while the raven bit down lightly on the shell of his ear.
"The game we played earlier was much too easy for someone like you. You're usually quiet anyway." Sliding his hand down a bit further, Tyson came to a stop as the man shivered. "You're surprisingly cold down here," he commented offhandedly. "I could warm you up if you want…"
To that, Evren shook his head as he lowered his hand. "N-"
"No reply, huh?" Tyson asked after clamping a hand over the man's mouth. "Very well. Let's play, shall we?"
Feeling the minor warmth, Evren squirmed about before coming to a halt as the raven latched onto his neck. As his leader began to speed up his hand, purposely warming it in the process, Evren chewed his lip harder before letting out a bated breath.
Letting a small moan slip as Tyson lowered his hand, Evren covered his mouth quickly as his partner stopped all movements. Catching dark red eyes creeping into his peripheral, Evren started to squirm about once more though he was somewhat incapacitated what with the way Ty had managed to tangle their legs together.
"Do that again." Shaking his head quickly, Evren flinched when the man returned to his previous activity. "C'mon, let's hear it."
Bowing his head, Evren tensed considerably before covering his mouth as Tyson slowed his hand. Once he came to a complete stop, Evren looked back at the raven to see him watching him. He then noticed the ears twitching ever so faintly before laying back somewhat. Jumping somewhat when Ty tightened his hand around the unwanted problem he had caused.
"T…Ty…" Panting quietly as the raven started to move his hand, Evren wiggled around until Tyson latched down onto his exposed shoulder. "S-stop it already!"
"Excuse me?" Both officers froze. "Hello?" The pair then looked at each other before Tyson held fast as the paler male tried to get away. "Is anyone in here?"
"You might want to answer him," Ty whispered as he continued with what he had been doing before the interruption. His hand then slowed to a crawl momentarily prior to increasing his movements by at least tenfold. "It'd be bad if he found you this way, wouldn't it?"
"Hello?"
"He'd…he'd see you t-too," Evren replied shakily before letting out a gasp.
"Yet you forget one key detail," he replied as he switched between fast and slow. "I really don't care if I get caught with you." Both heard the increase in the sound of footsteps before hearing the white-haired officer being called for again. "You're the one with the oversized ego…"
Throwing a glare over his shoulder, Evren tried to steady his breath as he heard his name once more. "I-I'm here," he stammered as Ty ran his tongue over the bitten shoulder. "W…wh~"
"Sir."
"D-don't come any…any~" Panting harshly, Evren covered his mouth before startling as Ty slid his hand just a tad bit lower. "St…stay b-back."
"Are you ok?"
"F-fine."
"Sir?"
Hearing the footsteps get closer, Evren reached back to grab his partner before freezing as sharp nails began to dig into his skin. "F…Fine. 'm fine…" he managed after several seconds. "What do you need?"
"Um, the power in the other attractions had shut down unexpectedly but we were getting ready to close anyway."
"…ok?"
"Oh, uh…well, you're free, sir," the worker replied as he stepped closer.
"Stay where you are," he ordered. "If operations have been completed, let the teardown commence."
"Would you like some help for in here?"
"N~"
"Sir?"
"N-no. I can handle everything in here. Just close the door on the way out please."
"Ok, but-"
"G-go~!"
After the doors shut, Evren threw his head back before feeling a laugh rumble against his back.
"You did rather well," Tyson said before pressing a kiss to the side of the man's neck. "Good j-"
"Why…?" The one with red eyes hummed. "Why do you hate me?" he murmured.
"Huh?"
"Why do you hate me?!" Evren shouted as he hunched his shoulders. "W-why?!"
"Hate?" Nuzzling the man as he flinched, Ty offered a smile. "I don't hate you, Princess," he said as he trailed his hand lower and lower still. "Let me show you how much I like you."
Feeling something warm prodding at his backside, Evren tensed up before lashing out at the officer. "Tyson don't!" Clawing at the bales of hay, Evren squeezed his eyes shut. "T-Tyson!"
"Relax a little," he replied once he managed to get a finger in. He then set out on the second one. "Princess, it won't hurt if you relax."
"B-bast…"
"See? That's not so bad, is it?"
"T-Ty!" Clawing at the ground, he squeezed his eyes shut as the fingers separated steadily. "T..T…"
Hearing the man mewl, Tyson pressed a kiss against his temple. "Ev-"
"S…I-I…"
Tyson tilted his head to see that the man's face was flushed. "You what?"
"Pull-" He cringed at his hitch in breath as the raven withdrew his fingers slowly. "Ty~"
Said person hummed at the moan he received as he pushed the two digits back in. "What was that?"
"I…I won't-"
"Won't what?"
"W-won't…" Biting his tongue hard enough to bleed, Evren then glared at the man. "I won't forgive you for this."
"W-what?"
"I won't forgive you!" he shouted before another moan slipped free. "I won't…"
"Prince-"
"I won't!"
Watching the ears flatten, Evren did his best to stifle the latest sounds once Tyson removed his fingers altogether. Feeling arms encircle his waist, he clawed at the ground before being pulled flush against the other male once more. Being nuzzled, the paler man tried to sit up.
"Evren." Aforementioned stiffened before looking over his shoulder. "Forgive me." Mismatched eyes averted themselves. "Evren." He bowed his head. "Evren!"
"I won't, Tyson!" Shoving at his chest, Evren continued until Tyson seized both of his hands. "Let go, Tyson!" Said person held tighter. "Let g-!" Fingers combed through pale tresses before Evren broke the kiss that had initially cut him off. "Let-" The raven let him go before untangling their legs. "Get away from me."
"Ev-"
"Get away from me!"
╤╩ Happy Halloween ╩╤
Staring at his hands, Evren grimaced before finishing up in the barn. He hadn't been able to get the power back with the generators yet alone on his own.
"He could've at least stayed to help me…"
"Get away from me!"
Collecting his bag as he left the barn, he looked about the darkened area before holding up a hand to shed a bit of light.
Nothing came out of course, leaving the officer to sigh heavily as he trudged back to the front of lot. Presuming that everyone else had already left, the man began to walk towards the main road before coming to a halt as he caught the sound of footsteps. Looking around slowly, he shifted the bag on his shoulder before walking again.
He was just hearing things since he had been working nonstop all day. The continuous power outages were draining as well. If anything, he accounted that for the sudden shortage of his own power.
Sleep just sounded like a good idea.
'Not now.'
His body ached from lifting just about everything himself and he was starting to feel the pain of it trying to ease its way into his muscles. Again, rest would have to wait since it was at least a forty-five minute walk to reach the appointed rendezvous point of pickup anyhow.
He wished he had brought a squad car then again; the police department probably needed them more for their nightly patrols.
There had been some trouble earlier that month pertaining to several drug rings popping up yet the police had yet to find their whereabouts. Even more, the Director had asked the task officers themselves not to interfere with a lowly task as such. However, a lowly case such as a drug cartel did not seem to pique Evren's attention at all.
However, neglect of even the lowliest cases could potentially cause trouble for even the highest of ranks.
'Why is this rendezvous point so damn far away?' he mused before slowing his pace as he heard the sound of an oncoming vehicle.
Looking over his shoulder to see what appeared to be a limousine slowing down, Evren moved out of the way before taking a step back as the vehicle came to a halt alongside him. Staring at his reflection for a moment, the officer raised an eyebrow as the dark tinted window rolled down.
"Why, hello there."
"Good evening," he replied with a slight bow of the head.
"Do you need a ride?"
"I'm capable of walking, thanks."
"It's quite late out."
"That's alright," Evren said as he continued to walk. "I enjoy walking at night."
"As nice as that may be, we must insist that you get in."
Glancing at the passenger momentarily, Evren nodded slowly. "Very well. Thank you for your hospitality."
Once inside, the officer focused on the back of the seat in front of him before slowly looking about to see several men lounging in their seat before focusing on the man that had invited him into the vehicle in the first place.
"How are you to-"
"Spare me the formalities please." As the other passengers shifted in their seats, Evren placed his hands in his lap as the initial passenger offered a smile. "What is it that you want?"
"Deductive as ever," he said as he lit a cigar. "Care for one?"
"No," Evren said, "I prefer to keep my lungs, thanks."
"As to be expected from Polaris' best of the best."
"In regards to your compliments, I'm too tired to guess who you or what you want so spare me the pleasantries and tell me why I'm really here."
"Straightforward as well."
"What-?"
"You may call me Lucian if you wish." Mismatched eyes stayed expressionless as ever. "Of course, you probably have no real concern for my name. You probably don't give a shit about someone such as myself really."
'That much is true…'
"But I would like to make a man such as yourself an offer."
"I'm listening." The officer then straightened as a case was presented. "You seem like a reasonable man."
"The compliments are becoming quite insincere, sir. Knock it off already," Evren said. "Just tell me what you want so I can return to my duties."
"Very well. You see, I am a man of business."
'You don't say…' Looking around to see the other passengers shifting somewhat uncomfortably, mismatched eyes settled on the case that was being unlocked. "Keep that closed." His gaze then panned upwards. "That's dirty money, isn't it?"
"Dirty money?"
"It was earned through illegal means," Evren said in annoyance. "In other words, it's drug money. You're part of the drug cartel, aren't you, Lucian?"
The man sitting across from him merely dropped a bit of ash into the tray. "You pieced that altogether, huh?" The officer merely blinked. "A shrewd, young man such as yourself would do well to have a side job. I'm sure you make enough as an officer but wouldn't it be nice to have something to fall-"
"No."
"No?"
"No as in I decline your offer," he clarified.
"Many of your lower ranking colleagues have taken the proposition."
"That's because they're greedy and ignorant."
"There are benefits to being greedy."
"Why would I want to be part of some lowly syndicate?"
"So you're saying you won't join my business?"
"Business?"
He nodded. "But of course." Evren scoffed. "I take that as a no?"
The officer looked towards the man sitting to his left. "Exactly."
"I must ask you to reconsider," Lucian said as he exhaled a cloud of smoke.
"My answer remains the same. Now, I'm perfectly fine with walking so stop."
Sighing, the man snuffed out the last of his cigar. "Well, this is a shame really."
"Yeah, well, sorry but I try not to associate with lowlifes."
He then made a reach for the man before stopping as one of the other passengers pulled a gun. Hitting their hand up as the trigger was pulled; Evren elbowed the man in the side before knocking away a second gun to the side, causing the shot to shatter the back window.
Punching the man in the face, the officer paused when he felt something cold pressing to the side of his head. He placed a hand on the wielder's face at the same time.
"You disappoint me," Lucian said as he lowered the hand that had been smashed against his face. "I'm not entirely sure on what you planned to do by doing something like that but you're outnumbered and obviously outgunned."
Lowering his hand as the other two weapons were pointed at him, Evren stiffened somewhat. "I suppose it's a bit late on taking you up on that offer, huh?"
"Yeah," Lucian replied as he lit another cigar. Dark eyes then watched as one of the other passengers struck the officer in the side of the head with the butt of the gun prior to watching the officer fall over to the side. "Just a bit too late."
╤╩ Happy Halloween ╩╤
Coming around slowly, Evren peered out into the darkness before sitting up. Flinching at the sharp pain in the side of his head, he cursed under his breath before feeling the tight rope bounding his arms to his sides. As blood began to seep into one eye, he squeezed it shut before spotting a weak, red glow coming towards him. Steeling himself as it continued to come closer, he stiffened until he made out the even darker red eyes looking down at him in the otherwise dark room.
"Tyson?" The other remained quiet. "What are you doing here?" The officer merely blinked. "Never mind that, just get me out of this."
"Can't do that."
"Can't do that?" The raven gave a one-shouldered shrug. "Tyson, I don't have time to play with you!"
"Unfortunately, he's not playing." The red glow gave way to an almost blinding light. Cracking his eyes open in time to see Tyson lighting the man's cigar, Evren clenched his jaw. "Hello, again."
"Tyson, untie me."
"Can't do that, Princess," the raven replied as he slid his hands into his pockets. "You see, Lucian here had made me quite the proposition some time ago. He said if I joined him, not only could I control a quarter of the city, all of which I could choose, but he said he could get me what I wanted."
"He can't do any of that, you idiot!"
Tyson took a knee, his wolf tail wagging ever so slightly. "I don't know, Princess. I kinda have what I want tied up in front of me like a present." He then tapped a finger against the small gash above the officer's eye. "It was nice of them to bring you here. Then again, I did have to tell them where to find you. However, I wish they didn't have to be so rough on you."
"…told them where…you son of a bit-" Evren jumped at him only to have a hand shove him back. "You told them where to find me?!"
"Don't be so surprised. It's a bit unbecoming of you in this situation." Red eyes flattened. "You tend to be more composed in situations like this."
"How could you?!"
"I can say that it wasn't for the money. By all means, that definitely isn't the reason for me doing this, Princess." The taller of the two then walked in circle around the one bound. "You see, I did it because I hate to see a position of power go to waste on someone such as you."
"Bastard…"
"This coming from the guy that thinks he's above everyone. The guy that thinks everyone should bend over backwards for him because he seems to be the boss's favorite. The guy that thinks he's out of everyone's league." Evren scowled. "And you call me the bastard?" Tyson asked disdainfully before chuckling. "Take a look at yourself, dear, Evren. Your disposition is the reason you're even in this goddamn mess and you have no one to blame but yourself for it."
"Ty…" Watching his teammate for a moment, Evren bowed his head soon after. "…Tyson, I'm sorry."
"Too late for an apology, Evren. I already made my choice."
"Ty-!"
"Shall we get going?"
Tyson simply nodded before walking away with Lucian and the rest of his gang. "You hang tight, officer."
"Tyson!"
Having the only door out close and lock, Evren tried getting to his feet but stumbled somewhat as everything spun. As soon as he managed to stand, the lights went out, leaving the man alone in the dark. Waiting for the world to stop spinning, he slowly looked around as he heard something moving. Taking a step back, he froze when he bumped into something but did not manage to threaten whoever it was due to the hand clamping itself over his mouth.
His struggling stopped when he realized the person wouldn't let go but he was still anxious of them.
Something sharp pressing against his back made him flinch, however, he then felt the oppressive ropes loosen then fall away completely. Stepping away from the stranger, he rubbed his wrists before looking behind him. Holding a hand out in front of him, he scowled when no light was produced before taking a tentative step forward. He heard nothing from the other but managed to catch the faint sound of something moving above him. It faintly resembled footsteps along a rafter but it was gone soon after. His attention then went towards the far wall as he caught the faint sound of a lock being undone.
Hurrying towards it, he pulled it open slowly and poked his head out to see a covered truck go by. Ducking back inside as a group went by; Evren came out in time to cover the mouth of the last one before pulling him back inside. He emerged shortly after with a gun and cellphone. Following after the group he had seen, he looked about in between hiding behind crates and such before coming to a halt as he heard what sounded like Lucian.
Sneaking around the corner, gun at low ready, Evren eased himself along the wall before taking a knee behind a couple of crates as he heard approaching footsteps. Holding his breath, he poked his head out after several moments to see Tyson following alongside Lucian. Gritting his teeth, he snagged a man passing by before knocking him out. Easing himself around another corner, he backpedalled quickly to avoid running headfirst into a forklift transporting several unmarked crates. Noticing several of the men to be officers in the lower departments, Evren scowled as he slowly began making his way towards them.
A distant boom then had him taking a step back before he hid in the shadows of several bins.
The mismatched gaze then darted towards the source of a phone ringing.
"Hello?" It was Lucian. "What do you mean it fucking exploded?" He then looked towards the red-eyed wolf eyeing him curiously. "Excuse me for a moment."
"Take your time," Ty replied as he slipped his hands into his back pocket.
"Slow down," the older man said as he walked towards the white-haired man hidden away. "What do you mean a pirate destroyed the warehouse?"
'Pir…Alexis.'
"Where were the guards?" Evren barely made out the speech from the other. "What do you mean they're all knocked out? Well, where did the scratches come from?!"
'Definitely Alexis…' he mused.
"What do you mean you can't find-hold on." The man switched over to take another call. "What is- what do you mean a witch?!"
"Sir." Lucian looked towards the raven. "Is there a problem?"
"Fix this." He hung up before massaging the side of his head. "Tyson…"
"Sir?"
"It would seem that your friends have located a couple of my warehouses."
"What? That's no good. They weren't even supposed to be on duty tonight."
"I see…I want you all to go investigate," he said before grabbing the officer by the arm. "Not you, Tyson. I want you to stay here."
"Very well," he replied as he offered a smile, seeing off several of the workers. He then made his way back over. "Can I help y-"
"You told them, didn't you?"
"Pardon?"
"You told them about the warehouses' whereabouts, didn't you?"
"What makes you think that I would do that?" Tyson groused. "I already said I'm tired of following the white-haired bastard's orders, which also means I don't want anything to do with his underlings either. If anything, you can question those pitiful henchmen of yours. Perhaps even those lower ranking officers you were so quick to hire, Lucian." Seeing an eyebrow raised, Ty averted his gaze soon after. "Sorry about th-"
"Boss!"
Said person turned around to see two men out of breath. "What is it now?"
"Th-Th…off..off…"
Ty raised an eyebrow. "Off…officer?" Both men nodded quickly. "You mean Evren?" One nodded while the other rubbed the back of his neck nervously. "What about him?"
"He…he…"
"He's…?"
"Gone."
"What do you mean gone?!" Lucian snapped. "Better yet, why are you two standing here while he's running around some-"
"Sir." Dark eyes shifted towards the raven that was rocking on his heels. "You shouldn't stress yourself out over Evren." Ruby-colored eyes looked about the room slowly before locking gazes with the mismatched pair for a brief moment. "He isn't one to actually run away. He likes to assess things. Find weaknesses, that sort of thing."
"So he's still around?"
"But of course."
Lucian then turned his attention to the two other men. "You idiots go gather up as-"
"That won't be necessary," Ty said. "He should still be a bit indisposed right now so he really shouldn't be a handful."
"Ty-"
"Just go check out the damages the other two managed to do. The longer you stay here, the more assets you lose. And, if I understand this whole crime concept, you're losing a lot of money, aren't you, Lucian?"
"One of you go get the car." One of the men ran off to retrieve the vehicle. "Tyson, I'm leaving this up to you then. I want him caught and beaten. Near death will be fine but I want you to send the message not to screw around with my things."
"Very well," the raven replied giddily as he bowed at the waist . He then straightened once the man had gone. "You can come out now, Princess." Turning, he offered a knowing smile as he stared down the barrel of a gun. "Why, hello there, Prin-"
"Shut the hell up." Ty merely continued to smile as he lowered the other's weapon slowly. "You knew where I was the entire time, didn't you?" Evren questioned irritably as he raised the weapon again.
"Of course I did, Princ-"
"Enough of that idiotic name!"
Red eyes slowly shifted elsewhere before the man shoved the gun aside in favor of swinging at the officer. "Well, I like it better than 'Dead man'."
Lowering his weapon to keep it out of reach, Evren backed into a crate before ducking to avoid a punch. Looking up after feeling something fall into his hair, he watched as Tyson pulled a smoldering hand from the wooden box he had nearly shattered.
Seeing how the crate was smoking before noticing the small embers starting to eat away at the box. Hearing a chuckle, Evren kicked the other in the stomach before swinging his leg beneath the other's.
"That was rather sneaky, Princess…" Ty said as he hopped to his feet all too naturally. Flexing his fingers slowly, he glanced at the bit of char on his knuckles before catching a punch that had been thrown. "My, my, you're not wasting any time," he teased before striking his opponent in the stomach. "Get up."
Pulling air into his lungs, Evren held his abdomen before getting back to his feet. Wiping the corner of his mouth, he took a step back before dodging another swing. Sliding back from a kick he blocked, he dropped his arms before catching a fist to the face. Lifting his gaze as he heard a chuckle, Evren glanced at his hand before clenching it into a fist. Ducking under a kick, he grabbed a hold of the man's leg before swinging him into one of the forklifts stationed nearby.
"You goddamn bastard…" Stalking towards the raven, Evren grabbed the man by the hair prior to yanking his head back. "I'll see to it that you don't even get a trial."
"That's so unconst…itutional, P-Princess..." Digging sharpened nails into the top of the officer's hands, Tyson punched Evren in the stomach prior to elbowing him in the chest. Tilting his arm somewhat to elbow the man in the throat, he swept a leg beneath the white-haired male's feet before placing his foot square on the other's heaving torso. Listening to the ragged breaths, Ty removed his foot in favor of pulling his opponent up by the hair. "Do try not to take any of this too personal, dear. I was instructed to beat you within an inch of your l-"
"Y-you…I heard him you idiot…" Wincing as his head was head back even further; Evren brought a hand up, simply to have his hair pulled even harder than previously. "T-Ty, st…op!"
"Just keep in mind this is all your fault, Evren."
Feeling heat coming from the man's hand, Evren struggled about before digging his nails into the other's wrist. When that did nothing, he grabbed hold of the raven's arm but grimaced when he didn't pull back that he had intended.
He still didn't have any power.
His opponent, however, seemed to be a powerhouse.
"T…Tyson!" He received another laugh before thrown to the ground. "Y-you-!"
"You." Both men looked over to see Lucian walking towards them, gun in hand. "That's enough, Tyson."
"Sir, I wasn't expecting you to be back," Tyson said. "If you give me a few minutes, I can finish taking care of-"
"I'll do it myself."
"You have more pressing matters." Red eyes glanced at the somewhat beaten, white-haired man to see him slowly trying to get to his feet. His attention went back to the older male as he heard the sound of the hammer being pulled back. "Sir, let me-"
"I said that I'd do it myself, Tyson."
Evren had ignored the two going back and forth. Inhaling was bad enough, what with how hard the black-haired man elbowed him. The pungent taste of bile still lingered in his mouth but he swallowed his disgust once he had picked up on the sound of a gun.
Going to drag his gaze up to see who exactly pulled the weapon, he flinched subtly from the ringing sound of two shots fired.
He wasn't bleeding; he didn't feel any pain.
He was ok.
Looking up, his face blanched when he saw red eyes looking down at him. "You ok?" Evren nodded stiffly. "Good…"
"Ty-"
One moment the man was standing then the next thing Evren knew was the other kneeling, a hand clasped to his stomach. Seeing Tyson's face pale as he removed his hand, mismatched eyes picked up on the red liquid staining it as well as the few drops starting to patter against the cold floor.
"Ow…"
All you can say is 'ow'?! Watching the man totter before falling onto his side, Evren rolled him onto his back before pressing his hands onto the wound. "What the hell were you thinking you…you damn idiot!"
"He was going to shoot you, Princess… Are you ok?"
Am I? Evren pressed down harder. "Worry about yourself, stupid." He then tapped the other on the cheek. "Open your eyes."
"Stop…pressing down so h-hard," he muttered as his eyes slid open. "Hurts, Princess…"
"I don't care. Keep your eyes open."
"Gonna…gonna r-rest for a bit, 'kay?"
"Ty, stay awake ."
Said person offered a faint smile. "'kay…"
His eyes continued to close. "Wake up!"
"'m awake…"
"Tyson-!"
"Should've known he'd go and do something like this." Dark eyes stared at the officer that was trying to rouse the other. "If you're that worried, you can join him, despite him being so traitorous."
Pressing two fingers against the raven's neck, Evren dropped his hand back to his side. Hearing the gun being cocked again, he bowed his head as he hunched his shoulders.
Smiling at the defeated state, Lucian stepped forward, gun aimed at the man's head. His attention then went to the lights as they began to flicker. Looking around to see other electronics starting to go awry, the older male focused on the white-haired male to see him on his feet. Having his hand knocked aside, Lucian stepped back as the officer attempted to grab the gun. He did manage to fire off a round; however, the bullet only grazed the Evren's cheek.
Glancing at the wound as it began to bleed; he struck the man in the stomach before taking a step back. Kicking the weapon from his hand, Evren then grabbed him by the arm prior to flipping him onto the ground. Watching Lucian roll over to crawl away, he stepped down on the square of his back before flexing a hand slowly.
Observing the small sparks starting to gather, mismatched eyes then focused on the man that was still trying to get away from him. "Why are you still struggling?" He removed his foot in favor of kicking him in the side. "You're not getting away from me, bastard!"
Kicking him into a stack of crates, Evren began to walk over to him as the lights went out. Listening to the man crawl about on the ground, no doubt looking for the weapon he had lost, the officer clenched his hand into a fist before pausing midstride as he thought he heard an additional set of footsteps.
Glancing over his shoulder, he stiffened when strong arms suddenly pulled him back into something solid. Having his head tilted up made several of the outdoor lights shatter. A peck to the cheek had Evren looking over his shoulder though he saw no one standing there.
"Ren, calm down…"
Said person looked over his shoulder again. "T…Tyson?"
"D-dammit…"
Looking in the direction of the voice, Evren pulled away, merely to be snagged then dragged away from the source. "Let g-go!" He clenched his hand tighter, emitting sparks.. "Let g-!"
"Relax…you wanna kill him, don't you?" The officer lowered his head. "…can't…know that."
"But-"
"Even you said it…can't go killing people." The man then focused on the direction of broken glass. "…relax."
Letting his fingers go lax, Evren hung his head before receiving a kiss to the cheek. Hearing two sets of footsteps coming from opposite directions, the paler man looked about before tensing when he heard a rather unexpected scream followed by a string of curse words. Waving his hand, Evren first noticed Lucian lying on the floor with a neat cut running down the side of his face once the lights came on. The scratch took on a green tint which soon started to spread along the man's face, supposedly causing pain what with the way he was thrashing about before he finally went still.
Shifting his gaze just a bit, Evren looked to see his pirate of a teammate staring down at the man, flexing her own fingers ever so subtly. "Alexis." Aforementioned looked towards her leader. "Where's Scarlet?" Green eyes shifted. Following them, Evren found the other woman tending to the raven that was leaning against a stack of crates, her own hands pressed firmly against the man abdomen. "..son?"
"Y…you didn't kill 'im." He cracked a half smile. "Good j-job, Princess…"Garnet eyes then went to the green-eyed woman. "Hey, Alexis, could y…you help me out?"
Looking over his shoulder, Evren moved aside as the green-eyed woman made her way over. She then observed the bullet wounds sustained before licking two fingers. From there, she swiped them across the injury before taking a step back. The raven's grunts soon subsided as the source of pain slowly ebbed away.
Watching as the females went outside, no doubt in calling for back up, Evren made his way over to his remaining teammate. "Tyson."
Said person opened his eyes slowly. "Hey, Princess…"
"…you ok?"
The red gaze studied the other before Ty gave a faint smile. "Will be. Doesn't hurt anymore…"He tilted his head back. "Alexis helped…it's ok."
Hearing footsteps, Evren glanced over his shoulder to see several officers in uniform approaching Lucian. Watching as he was handcuffed and dragged out, the white-haired man stiffened when one of the officers walked over.
"He's-"
"A paramedic will be here shortly."
After the man left, Evren watched as the raven began to drift. "Ty." Dark eyes opened gradually. "You're going to go to prison, you know?"
"Actually, he won't be." Recognizing the voice instantly, the man got to his feet before standing at attention the moment he saw their boss walking towards them. "Tyson, was doing as he should have. Him being shot was unforeseen but also so your capture."
"I…I don't understand."
"This was a case." Hazel-colored eyes then focused on the man holding his stomach. "You can tell him now."
Straightening somewhat, Tyson smiled when he saw the bewilderment on his partner's face. "You don't like drug cases so we didn't tell you about it." Taking a step forward, he placed a hand on the wall to keep from toppling over. "Us being at the event earlier tonight was just a guise to see if me, Alexis or Scarlet were able to bust a transaction. When nothing occurred there, we were forced to go to our backup plan."
"I don't…"
"Tyson had been contacted by Lucian and his party a few weeks ago," the Director said before the blaring sound of sirens began to fill the otherwise quiet area. "He was the perfect candidate and leader for this operation." He then began to walk away. "Once you return to headquarters, you'll be put on quarters. You are not to leave without my say."
Tyson only nodded. "Understood."
Bowing at the waist during the man's departure, Evren stood once more once he caught the somewhat dead look in the red gaze. "Tyson." Said person blinked before looking at him. "You didn't have to save me."
"Sure I did," he said as a pair of medics hurried towards him. "You were powerless and in distress."
Lowering his eyes for a moment, Evren the looked around the warehouse to see other officers investigating the area before confiscating the drugs for evidence. Walking out of the building, he hurried over to the ambulance in time to see Tyson sitting on a stretcher.
"You could've told me this from the start."
"Sorry," he said. "I didn't mean to trick you but it was better that you didn't know until this was all over." Scowling momentarily, Evren leaned in before giving the man a small kiss on the cheek. "What was that for?" Tyson questioned as he touched the side of his face.
"Think of it as a treat for your hard work and successful completion…."
Seeing a blush creep across the man's face after the explanation, Tyson chuckled before hooking his arm around the man's waist, pulling him in close. "As nice as that was, Princess, don't you think it'd be fair for me to choose my treat?" he asked in the other's ear.
"Um…sure, ok…?"
"Well, you're still in costume, right?" His hand slid down just a bit to rest on the officer's ass. "You could moan like a good little zombie as we continue with what we were doing earlier in the barn." Spotting the lewd smile on the officer's face, Evren tried pulling away before finally opting on shocking the man until he let go. "D..dammit, Princess, that hurts…" he groused. "I was shot and you go shocking me!"
Brushing himself off, Evren merely glared at the man. "You were shot and are already thinking about sex, you perverted wolf!" Despite the angry look, Tyson held in a smile as he noticed the blush still on the man's face. He then lay down on the stretcher as one of the medics prepared to load him inside the vehicle. "Hey, bastard?"
"I assume you're talking to me," Ty replied.
"Something's been on mind now that this is over."
"What is it?"
"How is it that you managed to untie me then be back with Lucian so fast? How'd you slip away in the first place?"
"I think you were hit too hard on the head," he replied as he was put in the truck. "I was with Lucian the entire time."
"But-"
Having the door close in his face, Evren watched as the vehicle sped off before hearing squad cars departing. Looking towards the Director's ride, he caught a glimpse of the man watching him before he lose sight of his boss behind a darkly tinted window. After his departure, Evren looked back at the warehouse before noticing the outline of a figure in one of the higher windows.
"Evren, we have to go," Scarlet said, pulling the man from his observations. "The Director wants us all to be examined."
"Uh, right…" he replied once he finally managed to pull his eyes from the high window.
╤╩ Happy Halloween ╩╤
Dark brown eyes watched as squad car pulled away. A small flame from a lighter then lit the area before it died down into a smaller light that burned at the end of cigarette. Grey puffs of smoke then hit the window pane before the person's gaze drifted towards the modern city of Polaris that was just over the ridge.
"CL!"
Tapping the side of his shades, said person exhaled another cloud of smoke. "Sup, Will?"
"Where are you?" she asked heatedly. "You left several hours ago and that was for a pack of cigarettes!"
"Sorry," he replied as he dropped down from the rafters. "Something came up and-"
"Did you run into trouble? Was it the cops? Do you need us to come get you?"
The teen merely shook his head as he pushed open the door, letting light flood the area he was standing in. "Not necessary, Will." He heard loud music thumping in the background. "I was just causing a bit of Halloween mischief I suppose."
"Mischief, huh?" She shook her head as she watched the colored strobe lights flicker before turning her attention to the redhead working a turntable. "Well, just hurry back. "
"Yeah, yeah, I know. See you in a bit," he said, flicking the cigarette away.
Glancing over his shoulder to see the cut pieces of rope, he patted the holster strapped to his leg to make sure his knife was still secure before lighting a second cigarette as he went on his way.
