The past events no longer haunted the church, as the new generation of Archangels brought life into the church.
Father Jacques, often worried about the curse, but none of the Archangels showed any signs of the curse for now. The Archangels were allowed to grow and prosper to their heightened potential.
Due to their immense power, they were put through rigorous training. They practiced spells, battled with each other in the church's courtyard, and ran laps out into the forest. Out of the 50 Archangels born, only, four children stood out, with bold and distinguished personalities. They somewhat bared a resemblance with the four cardinal virtues. Sarin was serene and happy, and Margaret, her sister, was, brash, aggressive with bouts of courage.
Meredith was a wise one, intelligent, and quick-witted, with wisdom, and Cecilia, believed in the law. She believed in what is just and right.
Though out of all of the four, Sarin, was a blessed child, always excelling at tasks, others struggle to do. Always leaving those, behind in her tracks, prospering to new heights.
She was even able to manifest a brand new power, the others couldn't. During training, one day, large amounts of paradis magic leaked out of Sarin's body, causing some sort of bow to appear in her hand. It was golden, with smooth curves, and was covered in flowers. The bow's appearance was thought to be a manifestation of Sarin's soul.
Due to its immense power, Sarin accidentally shot an arrow from the bow and it nearly decimated the church, causing the members of the church to use magic to repair it.
The other 3 were now expected to manifest such a thing, as they had special expectations set on them. The four were trained rigorously, in the church's courtyard, and were separated from the other children. Even now the children, are being trained, early before breakfast.
"Alright children, we have gone over the Eyes of Gyas many times over. Before we move on, I must make sure everybody is on the same page"
Jacques closed his eyes and opened them revealing his orange glare.
Margaret flicked her wavy blonde hair and honed in on her sister Sarin. Her green eyes hot with anger. They turned orange, without Margaret even noticing.
"This is exactly why we're going over this lesson again. If you don't concentrate, or allow your emotions to take over, your Gyas will go off, like a light switch.
"Because of that.......we can smell your disdain from your sister a mile away......Margaret..."
Margaret coughed loudly and turned back towards Jacques. Sarin felt uneasy, twirling, her bountiful, thick brown curls into her fingers, she glanced at her sister with her sad blue eyes and looked away.
"Now, if you lose focus, you can always say the spell, so your Gyas will automatically turn on, but before we get there, what is the Eyes of Gyas?" Jacques said
"The Eyes of Gyas, allow the user to see the color of a person's soul. White, are the paradis users, Black are the devils, white and black are humans, and a dead or a corrupted soul is purple" Said Meredith.
She effortlessly said it. Her mid-length, black cornrows, complimented her smooth brown skin, she had gold beads at the end of her head that clanked when she moved.
Jacques applauded her, answer. "Take note of that please, I do not want to keep repeating myself"
"Now let's say the chant together shall we "j'appelle mes yeux". All four closed their eyes, and all four, had blaring orange eyes, flawlessly.
"Perfect, out of the rest of the Archangels, only you four have been able to manifest the Gyas eyes!" Jacques, said pleased with his pupils
"Now tell me what you see" He questioned them.
Cecilia, a girl with olive-toned skin, brown eyes, and lengthy hair rolled into a large bun, spoke. "I see there are five figures, with white souls".
The rest confirmed everyone in front of them, were figures with white souls.
"Good now for the uncomfortable part, keep the Gyas eyes on, while gathering paradis, into your fist". Jacques rose his hand into a fist, instantly gathering wispy light magic into it.
"This is called Enyra, you gather paradis magic into your fist, the more you gather the more powerful it is, though, be careful not to overdo, it"
Everyone but Sarin, was sweaty profusely, from having to keep the Gyas on and gather paradis into their bodies.
"Now, when you're in combat, you can use some of the paradis around your fist to accelerate your speed, so you can punch your target," Jacques said making a punching motion with his fist, effortlessly.
"Jacques!" Frederick came into the courtyard and interrupted the training session.
"Lord Jacques, you're briefly needed in the chapel" Frederick's face appeared concerned, and Jacques nodded.
"Keep practicing girls I will be right back" Jacques left with Fredrick. As they chatted the girls, tried to gather paradis into their palms, but it sparked and then lit out.
Sarin stared, at the immense ball of light coming off of her, palms.
"Why must we learn all of this.......if there is a treaty? Are we preparing for war? Sarin mouthed off too loud.
"Are you stupid or something?" Margaret, harshly commented back to her sister, while she literally twitched, focusing too hard. Her, Gyas turned off and she muffled in frustration, stomping her feet.
"No matter what devils, are at the bottom of the totem pole, it's up to us, to eventually rid them of this earth. That is our ultimate mission don't forget that." Cecilia, said, who was able to create a tiny ball of light.
"Have any of you.......actually met a Fyona? I mean are they really devils, or are they-" Sarin said trailing off.
"Sarin!!!" Meredith looked at Sarin with a mix of concern and disgust.
"Never say such a thing, again Sarin......"
Meredith continued, "Fyona's ARE devils, who have terrorized the humans for 1,000s of years. Their parasites, that disguise themselves as humans, it's why we have the eyes of Gyas."
"They hide, among us, slaughter us, and suck our blood until we're nothing but an empty husk........Not to mention, the Blood Kings, are the most degenerate, wicked ban of the earth........."
Margaret cut Meredith, from speaking to Sarin further. "Don't even try to explain it to her again, she may be the strongest, among us but she is the weakest link.
"What a waste......" Margaret sighed.
