Damon POV
I'm still shocked she asked me to stay with her while she showered, I didn't want to leave her but I didn't expect her to want me to stay. Of course, Rikko was very annoying during her shower, constantly telling me to turn around and calling me a pussy when I didn't, as much as I wanted to turn around I couldn't disrespect Raine that way. She was so silent during her shower I felt the need to ask her if she was okay, my poor little wolf took that as me rushing her, my heart ached when she felt bad for taking too long. Could she be any more perfect? Carrying her back to her bed filled me with pride, but also sorrow, sorrow at how light she is, I could carry her with one arm, I will ensure she is fed all the time. Her eyes are so captivating, once Cleo says she needs to get smaller clothes for Raine, I took this as my chance to ask her to let me do what I've been dreaming of since I laid eyes on her.
"Raine, can I kiss you?" I ask, Her eyes widen at my request, confusion and fear pool in her eyes. She doesn't speak, she only nods her head to say yes. I slowly move closer to her lips, when our lips finally meet the tingles I once felt were more like bombs of pure ecstasy coursing through my body. My hands move from my side to cup her face, not wanting to lose contact with her. Raine's hands start to raise my chest, I inch closer so I can help hold her towel in place. I let my tongue slide across her lips asking for entrance, she grants it almost immediately. Passion soars through my veins, My hands move from her face to her waist, pulling her in closer, our bodies touching causes more sparks to erupt. Our tongues dancing in each other's mouths, neither of us making any effort to pull apart, Rikko is howling in my mind. I can feel Raine is starting to need air, I slowly pull away and rest my forehead against hers.
"Raine, I'm so sorry I didn't save you before," I say breathlessly, guilt clouding my happiness as I remember all the pain she has suffered. Raine takes her hands and cups my face.
"Alpha, I mean, Damon, you did not know about me, you saved me before you even knew we were mates, you saved lots of people from Micheal. Please don't ever feel like it is your fault, the only person to blame is that sick bastard" I see the fear pool in her eyes as she remembers Micheal. "Where is he?" She asks, taking her hands from my face.
"After I got him off you, I threw him out the window, however, we have not been able to locate his body. I doubt he would have survived the fall and if he did even with his wolf he will need lots of time to heal. He won't be coming for you Raine, and if he does somehow, I would die before he would hurt you again." I say holding back nothing from her, showing her my true emotions. She deserved the truth, this was her life he was after.
Raine just nods her head in response, as she does Cleo comes through the door holding fresh clothes for Raine to get changed into. Cleo places the folded clothes on the end of her bed and bows.
"Alpha, would you like me to help Miss Connors get dressed?" Cleo asked.
I look at Raine in the eyes then turn my head to Cleo
"Yes," I say bluntly "Raine, I will come back in a little while I just have a couple of things to do okay?" I say holding her hands in mine and holding her gaze intently. Raine nodded her head at me, she looked at the clothes on her bed and then back to me.
"When will you come back?" She asked quietly avoiding eye contact.
"In about 2 hours little wolf, I will take you to a more comfortable room later as well," I say, I already mind linked Lyam and asked him to set up the bedroom next to mine for Raine. "Would you like me to bring your parents in?" I ask, Raine looks up at me, she visibly swallows.
"Do they want to see me?" She asks
"Oh little wolf, of course they want to see you. They have been here everyday to check on you and ask when they can take you home." I replied, truthfully, I just left out the part where I told her parents that this is now her home, with me.
"Oh okay, I would like to see them please." She says shyly
"Of course baby, I will get them now for you." I say, kissing her forehead as I leave, she flinches as I do but relaxes as my lips touch her.
I called Raine's parents over from the waiting area where they sit everyday until they can see her.
"She wants to see you both, I will be back later." I say and open the door for them before leaving to do my work. Lyam mindlinks me moments after I leave.
"Alpha, I need to speak with you urgently. It's about Michael Wingers." His words fill me with rage.
"Meet me in my office now!" I say and sprint my way there.
I make it to my office in around 2 minutes, after sprinting from the hospital to the pack house. walking alone would take me 10 minutes but somehow today I was just fast at running.
"Well yeah I mean you do have an inner wolf jackass" Rikko retorts, I just roll my eyes at him and block him out.
I open my office door to find Lyam already waiting for me.
"What have you got?" I ask, slightly out of breath, placing my hands on my knees as I try to take in more oxygen.
"Okay, first, dude go for a workout. You sound like a guy who smokes 60 a day." Lyam says chuckling thinking he's hilarious, I just shoot him a glare telling him to shut the fuck up.
"Secondly, Micheal wingers is alive"
