Damon POV
"Damon, you've been sitting here for 2 days. You need to sleep, shower and eat. When she wakes up we will call you" Lyam said rubbing his face, He also looks exhausted.
"No I need to be here the moment she opens her eyes. I can't leave her, she's my mate Lyam I need her, she's suffered too long without someone to love her and take care of her" Sorrow and guilt comes in waves as I speak
I reach out and hold onto her hand just to feel the sparks, her scent is so sweet just being near her makes my wolf purr
"Didn't realise you changed species Rikko, you're purring like a kitten" I link to my wolf.
"Shut up prick, you can't talk you haven't left her side since we found her" Rikko snapped back
I'm suddenly snapped from my thoughts when I hear my name being called
"Alpha?"
I turn around to see the pack doctor standing in the doorway
"Yes doctor?"
"Alpha, I need to run some more tests on Raine, just to check that her wolf is coping and if she needs any help healing. This isn't going to be pleasant to watch" The doctor tells me this avoiding all possible eye contact. I'm not that scary, am I?
" Doctor I do not wish to be rude or anything" I say while standing up, as I stand the doctor takes a step back which causes him to stand in the hallway of the small hospital. "However the only way I will leave Raine is if I'm either dead or dragged out by my feet, whatever you have to do, you will need to do it while I am in this room holding onto my mate"
The doctor responded with a simple nod of his head and ushered the nurses to come and help him with his tests. He started off by putting wolfsbane under Raines nose to see if there was any response from her or her wolf. He held the wolfsbane there for a couple minutes before a very loud growl erupted from Raine, her eyes pure black as she looked around the room smelling for the danger. As quick as she sat up she was laying back down with her eyes now closed, no movement other than her chest rising and falling as she breathed.
The doctor carried on with his testing for the next hour, cutting her arm to see if she would heal, covering her face to see if her wolf would kick in with the fight response. She passed all tests except for the healing, with that the doctor injected her with a serum to give her wolf the hormones and boost needed to heal Raine. I won't lie, I had to close my eyes at the injection, the needle was bloody huge! I honestly thought it was just going to go in one side and come out the other.
"Okay Alpha, Raine should start healing and waking up within the next day or two. As a doctor I recommend using the ensuite shower and eating, you must stay strong and healthy if you wish Raine to be."
"Sounds like the doctor grew some balls" Rikko scoffed in my head, I rolled my eyes at Rikko's words. "Yes doctor I will, thank you." I say politely
I took the doctor's advice and go shower. I asked Lyam to grab me some food so I wouldn't have to leave Raine, thankfully he didn't get me any nasty shit food. A massive double decker cheese burger and fries.
Halfway through eating my burger and I'm deciding if I should have an army bed brought down (folding bed) when all of a sudden Raine shoots up in the bed gasping for air
"What the fuck?!"
