Once, there was a man named Murphy. He lived in a beautiful old mansion right in the middle of a quaint little town. His yard was amazing. It had lush, green trees, a full lawn, flowers all year round, and a spark of creativity in the air. Murphy had everything anyone could ever want, yet he was a mean, crabby old man. The kids in the town would come to his yard every day after school to climb the trees, smell the flowers, play games, and get some fresh air. The older kids would usually stand in the shade and talk, sharing the latest trends and gossip. The middle aged kids would run around, play tag and pick flowers for their parents. The younger kids would ride around on their trikes and scooters, having a blast. But Murphy hated them. He hated their grubby, sticky hands. He hated their modern clothes, and spunky attitudes. So every day when the kids would come over, he would chase them away, screaming and yelling until his lungs were sore. On bad days, he would pour compost or trash on the lawn so it was no longer fun. Yet the kids just kept coming back. One night, while Murphy was asleep, the kids snuck out of their beds, out of their houses, and into the night. They went to Murphy's yard and resumed their play, all the while throwing rocks at Murphy's windows. One kid mistook the kitchen window for Murphy's bedroom window, waking him up. He came out with his leftovers in hand, and sprinkled the slimy veggies and dry meat on the lawn. He began to yell at the kids, until they got scared and ran off. Murphy went back inside, only to be met by a stabbing pain in his chest. A few moments later, he lay dead on the floor.204Please respect copyright.PENANAg7uszYMZ0G

Annette did not want to move. She would miss her friends, and especially that little boy who lived next door to her. Her parents had insisted on moving to this dumb little town called Murphysville. Apparently, It had been named after some old guy who had died like, forever ago. Anyway, Annette did not give a flying fart about Murphysville. Her parents had promised to take her to the first toy store they saw and allow her 20 bucks to spend on whatever she wanted. It was 1950, so 20 bucks was like a fortune. Her dad parked their red station wagon outside a toy store with a sign that read "Toys". How original. They went in, and Annette instantly fell in love with a doll on the front stand. She had long, glossy black hair, brown eyes, and olive toned skin, just like Annette. She wore a beautiful white lace dress, white socks, and black dress shoes. She was 30 bucks instead of 20, but she begged her parents, and they gave in. She named the doll Mary, and took her to the big mansion they would live at for the next 20 years at least. It had a big sign out front reading "Murphy House". Ugh! Everything was about Murphy here. 204Please respect copyright.PENANAbx7rkkYAYN
Murphy was not a playful ghost. He did not play pranks or cruel jokes on people. But when he saw the doll, he could not resist. He entered through her chest, and posessed her. Little did he know, once he went in, he could never come out.204Please respect copyright.PENANAV19IOUfUa1
Annette noticed. She noticed the doll's eyes glowing. She noticed the doll's strange positions across the room from where she was supposed to be. But Annette did not care. Annette loved her even more. She knew, though, that if her parents found out, they would try to get rid of Mary. Annette could not have that happen. She kept Mary until she was 80, then died a peaceful death.204Please respect copyright.PENANA3fms02t2ek

Reagan was pumped. She was moving from Washington to Murphysville. Before she left, she looked it up and read about the history. It was so interesting! She was only 15, but she wanted to be a history teacher one day, so had decided to learn as much about the place as possible. Before she even knew it, her parents had stopped the car. Reagan jumped out, and dashed upstairs to her new room. Sitting in a chair was a beautiful china doll. Her eyes glinted red. Reagan suddenly lost interest in her new home. She brought the doll downstairs to show her parents. They gasped, put the doll in a steel box, and threw her out into the ocean far, far away, where no one would ever find it. They then moved back to Washington. Duh.204Please respect copyright.PENANA9XjbfQwvcQ

Grace and her cousin Maddie walked as far as they could in the ocean before they could not touch the ground. Maddie stepped on something hard. "Ow!" She bent down and picked it up. It was a china doll, with black hair, brown eyes, and olive skin.204Please respect copyright.PENANApUuw6p4FxY
