Alexis woke up drenched in sweat. It was the same flash back...no reoccurrence, she'd been having for months.
Alexis clenched her blanket.
'Is it because of me his gone?' She thought, asking herself.
Alexis had been adopted two years ago by Alex's parents and ever since he hadn't left her alone. Alexis shivered. It had scared her when found out about her secret, and even more when he reviled he was the same. Was it possible for humans to conceive demons? She would never know, but her and Alec were truly demons, what else could they call themselves?
She lifted her left palm to her eyes to stare at the faint moon engraved in a thumb in red. No she wasn't a werewolf, but she was a child of the night. No one else could see the tattoo, well apart from others like her of course.
She clenched her hand into a fist, trying to clear her mind of her thoughts. There was no time to think of the past, she had other problems like school. She thought scrambling out of bed.

Alexis walked to school on her own like she always did, she didn't need friends, didn't want to share her problems. Relationships were too complicated to deal with.
Alexis slowed her pace as she got in close reach of the local high school; she had refrained from going to Alec's Prep school, that's how much she had avoided him.
'There's no time to think about that, he's gone' she thought to herself as she walked through the rusty old gates of the school. She walked into the building and through the hallway. No hello's, no discussions, Just how she wanted it.
"Shit!" Alexis gasped hitting the floor.
"Where the hell do you think you're..." Jordan was saying as he got up from Alexis. Sitting up on the floor Jordan looked over at Alexis.
"Are you new here?" He asked completely forgetting what happened. Alexis looked over at him saying nothing. She turned to the floor to and with a sigh began to pick up her books. Jordan watched her kin interest.
"Nice tattoo" Jordan said noticing the faint moon on Alexis thumb as she dusted one of her notes. Alexis turned over to him with a frown.
"Hey, I'm just trying to be friendly" Jordan said raising his hands. Alexis' frown didn't fade as she got up with her books and walked away. Jordan just sat there wondering how he could have missed her in school.
Alexis walked a little faster, her get black waist length hair bouncing with her increased speed. She'd never had time to fix it and probably never will.
'It can't be' she thought to herself.
'But I felt it, I felt his aura' A voice whispered in her head as she reached the biology lab. She took her usual seat at the far end, trying desperately to piece her world back together. Besides it was the same cruddy old seats, and cranky old teachers. She wasn't about let Alec's disappearance and this 'thing' living in her head drive her to her breaking point...
'Again' the voice in her head whispered, mockingly completing het trail of thought.
It's been five years since her parents died and she'd been sent to the orphanage. Her parents had been normal people with just a bit of bad luck. She'd seen weird marks and auras, things people around her couldn't for some reason unknown to her. She had kept the secret from her parents until they died learning all she could about her condition from the local library. Most people referred to her as lucky for surviving such a planned out arson attack with no serious burns. If only they knew what she gave up for it...

The whole house was crumbling around her. A realer waited patiently at the side as her parents burned to death. She stumbled back as the fire got large as it caught the living room sofa.
'Let me consume you, let me save you' A voice whispered around her as the fire got closer.
'Give me your soul, I can save you' he voice continued. The voice had been urging her for about a month prior to the fire.
"No!" Alexis screamed as she began to stamp at the bottom of her long nigh gown that had caught fire.
'I can save you, protect you' the voice continued as her night socks caught fire. It hurt, it really hurt. She starred over at the reaper with tears in her eyes.
"Don't let me die" She mouthed to it.
"There's nothing I can do" The reaper whispered with its mouth unmoving. Like a wind she felt the sharp pain of her roasting flesh as the fire travelled up her ankle.
'Let me protect you, let me save you, let me posses you' the voice said as Alexis struggled to fight the pain. Why did it hurt so badly?
"Do it! Possess me already!" Alexis remembered screaming at the top of her voice before losing consciousness.

"Alexis Blackwood" The biology teacher said calling out Alexis' name from a list again.
"Huh?" Alexis muttered in confusion making the class fall into a silent chuckle.
"You haven't been doing so well so I assigned you a tutor" The teacher said looking her list as she adjusted her glasses.
"Josh will be your tutor" The teacher said gesturing at someone in faded slacks and a red t-shirt. The boy gave Alexis a small wave, his brunette hair giving Alexis the impression of a chipmunk.
"Ridiculous" Alexis said giving him the benefit of a glance before looking back at her books.
"There's something wrong with that girl" Adam said leaning close to josh. There were friends and always stayed close.
"She seems okay" Josh said in-between biting his pen.
"She's weird" Adam said in a matter of fact tone.
"Okay, maybe a little, but who isn't?" Josh whispered back.
Alexis rolled her eyes without looking at the duo. Having kin hearing sense was not exactly fun. She heard dirty secrets, jokes directed at others or at her, and the usual somebody told my friend cousin, who told my friend then me...
But having someone defend her for once was weird, probably unheard of. She couldn't help smiling; it felt good in an odd way.

Alexis packed her books after class, she had to get her sketch pad, and her hands were basically itching to draw.
"Hey" Josh said blocking Alexis' table.
"I don't have your time right now, okay?" She said as she tried to leave through the side only to be blocked by Josh again.
'Bastard' she thought groaning.
Hey no need to be rude, you need help and the teacher said I should give it to you" Josh said grinning "Besides anything with me is fun"
Alexis put on a questioning look.
"I need help but yours, not anyone's okay? This 'weird girl' can pretty much take care of herself" Alexis said as she began to walk away.
"Hey! I'm going to fail if your grades don't improve!" Josh screamed a little frustrated.
"Fail?" She asked feeling a bit guilty.
"Fine, ten minutes in the library after school every day" Alexis said trying to keep the shade of her eyes green.
"Whatever" Josh said, draping his knapsack's strap lazily over his shoulder.
"I guess that settles it" Alexis said leaving the classroom.
Josh rolled his eyes as she vanished into the hallway. That girl was not 'Just a little weird'
