Alexis walked through the hall way, staggering slightly but not falling as she bumped into people occasionally.
'Too many things are happening' the voice in her head said.
"And I'm going to fix it" She said to herself, dismissing that had been in her head ever since that night and never since kept quite. Sometimes Alexis wondered what it would look like if it had a body. Since the voice had that wise and cheeky edge to it, it also seemed short tempered at times...Maybe a cranky Asian teenager?
'Whatever, it doesn't seem like I'll find out anytime soon' Alexis thought as she searched the halls aimlessly for Jordan.
'Crap, where in the world is he?' She thought checking her watch. She only had about five minutes to her next class.
"Are you looking for me?" A voice whispered behind Alexis.
'Jordan' she thought turning to meet his gaze.
"Maybe" She said shrugging.
"Really now" He said passing his fingers through his dark glittery hair with way too much hair gel.
"You know, I'm kind of flattered" He said smiling awkwardly.
"It's enough with the chat. How come you can see this?" Alexia said pointing her thumb towards Jordan's face.
"What are you talking about, of course I can..." Jordan was saying as his expression changed.
"See what?" Jordan asked.
"This morning, you went all 'nice tattoo' on me" Alexia said feeling a bit irritated by his act of falsehood.
"I was just flattering you, It seems it worked" Jordan said winking.
"Get of my case" Alexis said as she turned to walk away.
"Hey, isn't that meant to be in reverse..." Jordan was saying as he realised Alexis had already disappeared into the crowd.
"Fine, if that's how it is" Jordan said continuing on his way. But he was actually worried about what just happened. He had felt her aura which was not quite human or demon. And why had she asked him that question so straight forwardly? He should have paid more attention to such signs. For all he knew she could be a stray or part of the cove. His mouth filed with bile just thinking about it.

The last bell went, and the usual stampede that followed left the halls in a horrible mess. Alexis sat at the edge of her locker drawing in her sketch pad. The halls were now empty and quite. Her lose green long sleeved sweater hung lazily around her shoulders. She brushed the out grown bangs from her eyes, but the whole process was always in vain because they came falling right back. Her hand moved with gentle strokes over her sketchpad.
Today had been edgy. She was trying to draw what the voice in her head might look like. She would do the ones of the bitchy Jordan later. The thought made her smile to herself. Jordan looked like a cross section between harry styles and Justin Timberlake if that makes any sense...okay maybe she was going too far.
"Um...gosh I can't remember, what's your name again?" A voice said as a body blocked Alexis' light. Alexis frowned looking up from her work to faded slacks.
"Alexis" She said.
"Alex...what, sorry I didn't quite catch that." Josh said as he squatted beside her. Alexis closed her sketchpad sharply as if under reflex.
"You have no right to invade my privacy" Alex said flatly, anger clear in her voice.
'Humans' the voice said in her head.
"Hey sorry" Josh said raising his hands in defence "I had no idea your art was private, okay?"
"Sorry, and its Alex-is. Alex with an 'is' attached behind it" Alex said still a little pissed. Josh's eyes knitted in question making Alexis a little paranoid.
"What?" Alex asked, her temper rising again.
"Oh sorry...Just...Do you wear contacts?" Josh asked leaning away from her.
"N..." Alexis ways saying as the realization hit her.
'Shit, red eyes' she thought panicking.
"Well err, some...most times" She stammered looking away.
"I still think you look a lot better with your green eyes..." Josh trailed making Alexis give him a suspicious look.
"I mean comparing from today, I...Let's just head for the library" Josh said getting up, on his cheeks an evident blush.

Josh wasn't bad at being a tutor and sometimes Alexis actually forgot she didn't quite like him.
"You're going to regret befriending them" The voice whispered its disapproval.
"I'm not befriending anyone" Alexis said out loud.
"What?" Josh asked.
'Shit' she thought realising her mistake.
"Oh nothing..." Alexis said as the side of her lips curved in a forced smile.
"Is that a smile, the first signs of laughter?" Josh asked in pretend surprise. Alexis rolled her eyes filling the page of the biology textbook.
"So what if I'm smiling?" Alexis asked.
"Well, it's probably because of me" Josh said giving her a toothy grin.
"Vanity" Alexis said continuing with her work. Her comment didn't seem to quite reach Josh considering he was still grinning like an idiot.
'I can't believe she actually smiled' Josh though as a fade shade of pink appeared on his cheeks.
"Um Ally..." Josh was saying as Alexis cut him short.
"It's Alexis" Alexis said not looking up from her work. Josh rolled his eyes.
"Sorry for trying to make the atmosphere friendlier" Josh said scoring a short test he had gave Alexis earlier. The Librarian called to them informing them that he was leaving soon.
"We're almost done" Josh said turning back to face Alexis.
"What did you want to say before?" Alexis asked out of curiosity.
"Nothing serious" Josh said with a tired look on his face. Alexis frowned but didn't question him further.
