As the pinkette sat at his desk to do his homework, he listened to the laughing redhead the PDA was keeping busy downstairs. Ace was weird, that being used as an understatement, but Robert was grateful that he was around to keep Skylar occupied long enough for him to start his History paper. It was a lot harder to do when every time he tried to concentrate, his thoughts would drift back to the questions the purplette had drilled him with.
He liked Kai. 347Please respect copyright.PENANAAO8nQBC7Lu
Yes, he liked him a lot but as of late, the grey-eyed teen was starting to get on his nerves. The call they had had been cut short as soon as the hazel-eyed teen tensed. When he looked back at the red-streaked raven to ask why he had hung up, Ace merely stated that the pinkette was starting to stress out. On that note, the PDA had assured him that he would be left with a free evening; that being that Ace would keep Sky occupied as well as complete any chores as well as cooking dinner. All of which the raven had completed in record time, leaving Robert in his current situation now.
His pencil tapped rhythmically along the desk surface while stared down at his rough draft that had only his name and date written on it. He had yet to even come up with an introduction and seeing how it was already half past nine, the pinkette stood to go take a shower, hoping that in doing so, some kind of idea would pop into his head.
Collecting his clothes, Rob went off to shower, all the while of thinking how to get through school the next day. It was when he heard his bedroom door close did he cut his shower short. Stepping out of the tub, he dried himself off quickly and threw on a pair of boxers before poking his head out to see the PDA typing away at the keyboard.
"Ah, how was your shower?"
"What?"
The raven turned slightly to allow dull burgundy eyes to see Robert peeking out from the bathroom.
"I asked you how your shower went," Ace replied, flashing a warm smile as the teen stepped into the room with his uniform in his arms.
"Oh, it was fine, I guess," Robert replied as he stared at the one seated. "Um, what are you doing?"
"Your history work of course," the PDA responded as he went back to typing, his eyes following the hazel-eyed teen carefully. "Apparently the call with Mr. Neroma was quite a taxing one so feel free to relax a bit."
"Ok…?" the teen said removing his glasses to wipe the water off his face. When he slid them back on, the pinkette realized that raven was staring at him pensively. "What?"
"You're dressed in only boxers," Ace said, smiling as he saw the next question along the other's face. "Before, you actually had shorts on. Are you more comfortable with my presence now?"
The pinkette's face flushed bright red as he pulled the blanket off his bed and wrapped it around him, hiding away his small frame.
"Get out!"
"I don't know why you're so embarrassed," the raven chuckled, turning his attention back to the monitor, "but at any rate, you're cute flustered like that."
"S-stop saying weird things like that!" Robert shouted, staring out the window as the PDA looked back at him. "Just st-"
"But you are cute."
The pinkette felt a tremble run down his back. That voice didn't sound like it had belonged to the PDA. 347Please respect copyright.PENANAKYDJgHxhXA
No, that voice sounded like the purplette.
"W-what?"
"I said that you are cute." The hazel-eyed teen glanced at the desk to see the red-streaked raven working diligently. "Cute and nice," Ace added in Kaito's voice as he glanced back at Robbie, a smile on his face.
"Don't do that," Rob ordered halfheartedly as he looked back out the window.
"You like him," the PDA said, pecking at the keys.
That statement made the other hide his face in the comforter he had wrapped himself in. Seeing that, Ace saved the work he had already done and set the computer on standby. Rising from his seat, he strolled over to the teen hiding away.
Not being able to see the other's face, the PDA frowned and tugged on the blanket, earning him a grunt from the one hiding. Tapping a finger along his chin, Ace cleared his throat.
"Won't you come out so I can see your face?" he asked in the voice that was not his own. "Come out, Robbie."
The raven was happy, and somewhat disappointed, as the pinkette responded accordingly to the request given. Robbie's face flushed all the way to the tips of his ears as he stared at the dull red eyes staring back at him. The smile that was along the PDA's face had slowly started to drop into a frown before he pulled the other into a hug. He held tight enough to keep from being pushed off but not tight enough to suffocate the teenager.
"Why do you like him?" Ace asked quietly in his own voice. "I-I don't get it. What is it about him that you like so much?"
He felt the pinkette wiggle around and that only made him hold the teen a bit tighter.
"L-let go, Ace!" Robert ordered, wiggling to get free as the blanket began to smother him. "You're g-gonna' crush m-me!"
Complying with the demand in his own little way, Ace released the hazel-eyed teen but gave him a small push so he fell on the bed. Once Robert was down, the black-haired project leaned in, listening as the other's breath hitched ever so slightly.
"Robert, it's not fair," he whispered as he continued to ease forward. "Do you like him because you seem him every day at school?"
"I-I…"
At a loss for words, Rob turned his head. He shuddered at the feeling of Ace turning his head towards him once more to see those dark and sad, eyes staring at him in what he guessed to be a 'puppy-dog' look.
"It's not fair," Ace murmured, pulling the other into a surprise hug. "Why won't you give me as much attention as you give him, hmm?" He nuzzled Robert, feeling him go tense at the contact. "You know, he isn't going to like you-"
Rob pushed him away before the PDA even got the chance to finish his sentence. His face, that had once been flushed from embarrassment, was now red from anger. Hazel eyes narrowed to give the raven a cold glare as he sat there on the floor in a mixture of confusion and hurt though there was something else the pinkette could not quite place.
It really didn't matter though.
"You have a lot of nerve!" Robert hissed as the raven went to say something. "Don't you say another word!"
Ace remained in his spot; his mouth clamped shut as he stared at the one on the bed. He bit his lip, staring at the heated expression on the teen's face before dropping his gaze to the floor. He scratched his head a few moments later as he heard the bed creak, signaling that Robert was on the move.
Looking back up, the PDA watched as he slammed the bathroom door shut, hearing it lock behind him. Distraught, Ace picked himself up and set out to straighten up the room, waiting for the other to cool down and come back out.
Coming out of the bathroom, Robert walked into his darkened bedroom and had a look around. The only source of light given off was coming from his monitor, and that was merely a soft green glow. On that note, he took notice on how much tidier his room was from when he had first stormed off. His bed was made. The tiled floor was free of any litter, not that it had much on it anyway. His school bag had been set on the computer chair as well as his work being stacked neatly along the desktop.
Crossing the room, Rob noticed his uniform had been ironed and folded neatly, resting on the top of his dresser as well as a plate of food he had smelt the PDA cooking nearly an hour or two ago. It was still warm and that's when hazel eyes drifted around the room, only to find a peculiar person gone. Turning on the lights, Robbie looked around the room once more to see that Ace really was missing.
'Great…I hurt his feeling but what do I care!' the pinkette thought to himself only to wind up frowning for thinking something so insensitive.
He didn't exactly want to hurt his feelings, as odd as they were, but the PDA had a lot of nerve saying what he did. Wrestling with conflicting thoughts, Rob let out a defeated sigh before leaving his room to search for the missing project.
He, however, did not have to look very far. Ace was sitting, back pressed to the wall while his knees were pulled to his chest, with his head down in a defeated manner. When Rob knelt down in front of him, the PDA didn't stir or say anything to acknowledge the other's arrival.
"Ace." Said project kept his head down. "Hey, c'mon and look up at me already," Robert ordered, shrinking back as he got his wish. "What's wrong with you?" Lifeless eyes blinked at the question. "Hey, Ace?" The pinkette had seen the PDA in that state before. "Hellooo…?" The red eyes blinked again before focusing on the one before them. "Aren't you going to say something?" The raven shook his head slowly. "And why the hell not?"
Ace thought that question over before adjusting himself so that he sat on his knees.
"You told me not to speak," he replied downheartedly. "I was merely following that command."
If the PDA was playing the guilt card, he was doing a pretty damn good job since the pinkette had taken a seat. Neither said anything and both cast their gazes elsewhere whenever the other would look their way.
"Did you do all of that in my room?" Robert finally asked, receiving a nod as his answer. "Use your words."
"Why?" Ace asked. "It's not like you'd pay much heed unless I sounded like Neroma, right?" Robert bristled at that question but was soon reduced to a small shiver as the PDA leaned in. "Why do you like him so much? It's not like he's going to like you as much as I do."
"H-history," Robert found himself responding in a quivering voice.
"So what?" the raven said heatedly. "If that's the case, I want as much-no, more history with you than Kaito has. I want to make new memories with. Better ones." He cupped the pinkette's cheek and leaned in further to speak hardly over a whisper, "It's not fair that he gets to see you every day, Robert."
"I c-can't help that," Robbie replied, pulling away from the cool touch of the PDA's hand. "We do attend the same school, you know."
"I want to attend too," Ace said fiercely. "If I have to go to spend time with you, I shall go to school!"
"Ace-"
"I want to spend time with you."
"Why?" the pinkette asked.
The raven-haired project dropped his hand back at his side. "Robbie…I just want you to like me as much as you that Kaito person." Rob took a deep breath as the PDA focused on him and only him. "Can I attend?"
"No."
"Please?" Ace pressed, still in a hushed tone.
"Why?"
"I already told you why!"
"How do you plan on being enrolled?" Robert asked hotly. "You don't have any parents or relatives!"
He covered his mouth after outburst, expecting for the PDA to become distant yet again. 347Please respect copyright.PENANASMfEkiHelA
When nothing but a blank expression registered on the raven's face, the pinkette let out a sigh.
"No, I don't have any parents or relatives," Ace said calmly. "Enrollment wouldn't really be a problem for me though."
"And why not?" Rob asked. The raven tapped the side of his head. "Right…"
"So, can I enroll at Vetay High with you?"
"I don't know…"
"Please?" the red-streaked project pleaded. "I'll behave. I promise."
Hazel eyes, placed behind rimless glasses, stared back at the determined burgundy ones before looking away.
"You promise, huh?" the pinkette asked skeptically as he glanced at the nodding raven. "Fine."
"You mean it?" Ace asked, leaning forward as he watched the pinkette nod slowly. "Thank you!"
He sprung into a hug attack, taking the smaller, pink-haired teen by surprise. This only resulted in making the raven grin as he felt the one beneath him wiggle around to get free.
"Would you get off of me?" Robbie yelled, trying to get loose. "Let. Go. Of. Me."
"But you've made me so happy!" the PDA laughed, hugging the other tighter. "So happy in fact-" He released the pinkette and gave him small kiss on the forehead. "Thank you so much!"
Rob sat still.
He sat awkwardly still, despite the moving project that was still flailing his arms about, a smile on his happy face. Rob, on the other hand, sat there for a little while longer before pressing a finger to the area the PDA had kissed.
'It was small,' he told himself. 'No need to get worked up over it.'
And with that thought, the pinkette rose to his feet and walked back into his room to eat then go to bed.
