Tilting his head at a slight angle, Ace took a step to the side, allowing the ball to pass. Only the back draft from the red sphere caused some of his hair to ruffle. Other than that, the PDA was fine; a smile on his face as he saw the small gape on the purplette's face.
"Ace!"
Said project looked to the left before stepping to the right to avoid another ball. The object did managed to hit the one behind him, leaving him to be the last person standing on his team. Furrowing his brow at the lack of teammates, the red-streaked raven tossed up the ball playful.
"Ace!" The project looked towards the sidelines. "Focus so you don't get out!" one of his teammates called.
Nodding towards them, Ace went back to his previous activity: tossing the ball up. He listened to the grunts some of his team were giving him before turning his head towards them once more as his ball went high in the air.
"Ace!"
"Yes?" he replied as he avoided another ball, catching his own.
With no other responses, the PDA shrugged his shoulders and went to collect the ball that had bounced off the back wall. Grimacing at the fact no one had yet to hit the raven, the grey-eyed teen turned his attention to his own teammate, holding his hand out for the ball, which was given without hesitation. Taking aim, he threw it at Ace's back, smiling before the other took a step to the side, looking over his shoulder.
An obvious glare from Kaito made Ace chuckle as he kicked up the second ball to balance it on his head. That gesture earned the raven a few laughs from both sides, including the coach himself. As another ball was thrown, the raven stepped to the side before going to retrieve it, the ball on his head never rolling off. Kicking up the second ball, the PDA bounced it on his knee as he eyed two of the three remaining members on the purplette's team.
Smirking inwardly, the raven bounced the ball on his knee high enough to give him time to throw the one in his hand. Since the initial target was focused on the red sphere in the air, the ball thrown connected with her arm and she shot a small glare before giving a smile and hurrying off the court. As the ball came down, the second teammate on Kaito's team took the liberty to throw his own ball while the PDA was focused on the descending red sphere. He gaped as Ace caught the ball, smiling warmly. The still stunned teen hurried off the court and sat next to his cheering teammates.
Still left with the ball on his head, Ace removed it from its perch. Dull red eyes stared back into the slightly irritated grey ones as he began to spin the ball along his fingertip. That action only seem to make the purplette bristle. Placing a hand to his mouth to hide a smile, the raven toss the ball up to catch it in the palm of his hand. He began his play once more, watching the other the whole time until he threw his ball up exceptionally high.
Taking that as an opportunity, Kai threw his ball; the raven didn't look back down. Instead, he removed his hand from his mouth and used it to catch the thrown projectile before allowing the one in the air to balance on his head once more. Tilting his head forward, the ball fell off to bounce on his knee.
"You're out of the game," Ace said with a smile.
"Robert!"
Said person turned to see the smiling face of the PDA.
"Oh, hi," he said, closing his locker. "Um, how was gym?"
Ace's smile broadened, making the smaller of the pair back away until the other began to pout. A pat on the shoulder by another classmate, made the raven look over his shoulder.
"Nice game," he said, smiling. "You should've seen Kaito's face afterwards!"
The PDA smiled as he casually moved his shoulder to rid himself of the other person's touch. "Thank you."
"What did you do to Kaito?" the pinkette asked angrily once the other had walked away. Ace looked elsewhere. "Answer me!" Burgundy slid over towards the pair hidden behind glasses. "Ace-"
"I did nothing," the PDA said, stepping closer to close the distance between the two. He then cupped the other's cheek and leaned in. "I told I would behave…" A smile graced his features as he watched the pinkette's face become dusted faint pink. "Don't you think I've-" He stopped leaning in as soon as his nose brushed against the other's. "-been behaving? I've given you space after all."
"Ace-" Robbie averted his eyes before closing them to avoid the attentive stare. "S-space, please," he squeaked out as he cracked one eye open.
"Right," Ace replied as he backed away. Once Robert opened the other eye, he slid himself across the lockers before sliding his glasses along the bridge of his nose. "You're so cute."
That comment made the pink-haired teen flush furiously before running off to get to class, his head down to hide his blush from the onlookers. Adjusting his own bag, Ace followed behind, picking up his pace until he was caught up to the fleeing student. Having enough of the other's flustered state, the PDA pulled on the back of his gakuran, Rob stopping accordingly to look over his shoulder. Flashing a warm smile, Ace took hold of pinkette's things and began to walk alongside, his attention on what was ahead while hazel eyes gazed at him from rimless spectacles.
"Ace-"
"Yes?"
"What did you do to Kai?" the smaller of the pair asked quietly, not trusting his own voice to sound firm.
"Nothing."
"Ace-"
"I didn't do anything," the red-streaked raven pressed as he gave a sideways glance at the other. "We simply played dodge ball."
"D-dodge ball?" Rob asked. "You didn't hurt him did you?"
A flash of hurt lit up the burgundy eyes before they diverted themselves to a locker. "I didn't hurt him," Ace murmured, shifting his bag to the other shoulder. "I…I didn't even hit him with the ball, Robert." He then held out the pinkette's books. "Anyway, I'll see you in Chemistry class."
"Ace…" Robert trailed off as the raven walked away, being accompanied by the redhead known as Rebecca.
With his head lowered on the desk, Rob cursed himself quietly as he sat in Chemistry class. He had not seen Ace as he left his class and he did not see him in the halls. The thought of the PDA leaving the school sunk in and made him grimace. He hadn't meant to hurt the raven's feelings, despite how odd he found them.
A chair being pulled out caught his attention and he raised his head, thinking it was Ace, only to get a peek of Kaito setting his things along the table. As smoky eyes glanced over to meet the hazel ones, the pinkette lowered his head quickly, holding back a quiet sigh.
"He didn't hurt you did he?"
"What?" Kai asked, pulling out a pen.
"Ace," Rob replied, sitting up slowly. "He didn't hurt you, right?"
The purplette turned his attention to the distraught pinkette and arched an eyebrow. He contemplated on lying. A smile began to work its way on his smile until he saw Robbie glance at him again, a worried look apparent from behind the glasses. Despite everything that had happened, from the sidewalk incident to the front schoolyard, he simply gave a smile. He couldn't bring himself to lie to the other when he was in such a state…or truly ever really.
"Of course he didn't," the purplette responded, cracking open his text book. "He…simply beat me in dodge ball."
"Dodge ball?"
"Yes…" Kai replied as his hand tightened along the breakable pen. "Dodge…ball."
"Oh…"
The eyes behind spectacles dropped back to the black surface of the table as one hand shifted to reach for supplies.
"Are you alright?"
"Yes," Robbie replied, bringing up his textbook as well as paper and a pencil.
The purplette went to address the other before turning his head towards the door as he heard whispers pertaining to the gym match he had two classes ago. He bristled at the mentioning of the name "Ace" and squeezed his pen tighter.
'Such a show off!' he proclaimed in his mind, resenting the other's existence as soon as he had first met him. 'At least he isn't h-'
The thought came to an abrupt end as the red-streaked project entered just as the bell began to ring. Dull red eyes drifted around the room to find a seat, all of which were being pointed out by classmates wanting to sit with him. Ignoring those seats, Ace made his way to the back to sit at the table adjacent to Robbie and friend.
"You're in my seat," the raven said as he pulled out his book, glancing at the purplette and the seat he had allegedly taken.
"I was here first," the purplette growled out as he shot a look of contempt towards the other.
"I didn't ask you that," Ace said, pulling out a pencil. "Switch with me."
"Like hell," Kaito spat, giving a full blown glare at the PDA, who was casually flipping through a notebook.
"I said to switch with me," the raven ordered quietly, giving the same amount of animosity towards the other.
Both stared in deadlock until the class door closed, signaling that the class was now starting. Amongst the sounds of notes being jot down as the teacher spoke, grey eyes glanced to see the PDA sitting with his things along the desk, pencil unmoving.
Quirking a brow, Kai leaned to the side to catch the raven's unfocused gaze. That soon ended as the other blinked, allowing his gaze to focus on the nosey purplette that had been staring.
"See something you like?" he asked quietly, yet derisively. A smirk ghosted onto his face as the other flinched, sitting upright once more. "Better."
Sitting crisscrossed in the grass amongst a throng of chattering students, Ace waited patiently for the pinkette to step out of the front doors. He did all he could to ignore the incessant questions of where he came from and how he was liking the school. It amazed him how fast his status as a student spread around, especially in beating the alleged athlete known as Kaito Neroma.
Rummaging through his bag, the PDA dropped his gaze to his lap to begin working on the homework that had been given in his math class. As he began to mark down the answers, he stopped as a shadow fell over him; a light fragrance passing drifting in the air signaled that it was not the pinkette as he looked up. Blue eyes looked down, a timid smile on the owner's face.
"Rebecca?" The girl held in a small squeal. "Can I help you with something?"
"Um…what are you doing?" the redhead asked, promptly taking a seat beside the raven.
"Math homework," the PDA replied dully. The girl tilted her head to see the work, or lack of, as the other went back to working. "Can I help you with something?"
"I…um…"
Ace turned his attention to the girl, watching her face flush slightly. Tilting his head to the side, the red-streaked project tapped his chin thoughtfully before leaning in a bit closer to the girl, hearing her breath hitch, everyone else around them going still.
"Are you blushing for me?" he asked, cupping her cheek with a smile. "As flattering as that is, I'm not-"
"Ace!"
Dull red eyes flitted towards the sidewalk to see the pinkette staring back at him heatedly. Pulling away from the redheaded girl, the PDA sat up quickly, collecting his things as Robert hurried across the school campus.
"Um…"
Ace looked down at the girl still blushing as he stood up. "I'll see you in class tomorrow," he said, throwing his bag over his shoulder prior to hurrying off to catch up with the departing hazel-eyed teen.
"Ok," she called as she watched him leave the campus and disappear around the corner.
"Hey, Robert!" Ace called, waving at the other as they looked over their shoulder. He picked up the pace as the smaller pinkette hurried away, disappearing around another corner. "Robbie!"
Once at the corner, the PDA looked around and spotted the pink-haired teen leaning against the side of a building, his head down. Furrowing his brow, the raven walked over slowly, doing his best not to alert the other of his presence until he was standing in front of him.
"Why?" Rob murmured, not bothering to raise his head.
"Rob-"
"You know I like her!" Hurt flitted along the pinkette's face until he looked away altogether. "Just leave me alone," he murmured, walking away.
Ace shifted his bag to his other shoulder before following behind the other, closing the distance between them enough to place his arms around the smaller of the pair.
"Robbie," the raven said, nuzzling the other, "why is it that you like her so much?" He felt the pinkette squirm. "She's annoying, you know?" Rob remained quiet, clenching his hands into fists before letting them hang at his sides. "Is it the fact that she wears a skirt?"
"What?"
"Am I going to have to wear a skirt to get you to like me more?" Ace questioned, pulling the other closer. He heard the smaller one stifle a little laugh. "I will if I have to."
"Skirts are for girls."
"So what?" Hazel eyes peeked up to see Ace staring back. "You're a nice person, Robbie." Said person looked away as the taller one nuzzled him again. "I saw the way you were looking at her the first time I noticed her." Ace turned towards the wall, turning Robert around in the process. "I told you not to look at anyone the same way, remember?" the PDA asked, the other flinching at the tone. "It hurts, you know?"
"Ace…" the pinkette murmured, looking up at the one who had pinned him to the wall. 'You're starting to scare me again.'
"Do…you like me Robert?" Ace asked, leaning in to close the already small distance they had between them. He placed a hand on either side of the pinkette's head and studied the small student's face. "Do you?"
"Ace-"
"Yes or no?" the raven pressed, tilting the other's chin up to keep the eye contact.
With no immediate response, the PDA leaned closer until hands pushing at his chest signaled him to halt.
"W-what are you trying to do?" Rob stammered, doing all he could to prevent his cheeks from reddening.
"What do you think?" Ace questioned, brushing the teen's hands away so he continue with what he had been doing. Another push at his chest had him stop and stand straight, mild contempt shining in his eyes. "What now?"
"P-people will s-see," the other stammered, blushing now.
"You say it like I care," the raven said, leaning forward.
"What happened to you behaving?" Rob asked quickly.
"I was behaved at school," Ace replied. "Didn't you hear me when I said I would there?"
"There?"
"As in at school,"` the PDA said, tilting the pinkette's head up again, "and since we're no longer on school grounds…"
A smile appeared on the tan face as the owner watched the smaller blush and squirm to get away. Keeping the teen's head up, Ace gave a chaste kiss to the other, noticing how he stilled considerably afterwards. With no push or indication to stop, the raven allowed himself to stay as he was until the pinkette tilted his head away for air.
Standing upright, the project collected the pinkette's school items and gave a warm smile as he watched Robert try to regain his composure. It took a few moments but soon enough, the teen walked ahead of the PDA. Throwing the Robert's bag over his shoulder, Ace picked up his pace to wrap his arms around the other's smaller waist.302Please respect copyright.PENANAK0FkfG2orx
As expected, Robert didn't do anything and as he peeked back to see what the other was doing, Ace leaned forward to place a kiss to the forehead resting under pink bangs.
"Will I have to wear a skirt in order for you to like me?" Ace asked as they passed by a store front.
"N-no," Robbie stammered in a voice hardly above a squeak, "that's not necessary, Ace."
"Do you think I would good in a skirt?" he asked. "I think I could pull it off."
Robert snorted at the idea of it. "Please don't wear a skirt, Ace."
Giving another kiss to the teen's brow, the PDA walked with his arms still around the other as both continued walking in silence.
Leaning against the building, blue eyes regarded the pair in matching uniforms before allowing a small smile to cross their own face as he brushed aside stray green strands.
"Aw, too bad Kay missed that nice little display."
