"Robert Harukana," said person's mother called from downstairs. "Wake up before you're late for school!"
Sitting up, Robbie stretched before rubbing his eyes. He then slid on his glasses that had been placed on the nightstand.
'Nightstand…?' the pinkette thought, scratching his head. He had no recollection of removing his glasses but he shrugged it off as he got out of bed. Hazel eyes then scanned the room for the raven of last night. "Ace?"
"Hurry up, Robbie~!" Skylar called from the door.
"Alright, alright," Rob murmured, walking across the room as he trIed to piece together everything that had happened the day before. He then came to a conclusion: Everything that had happened was a dream. "That seems about right."
"Robert, hurry up," the teen's mother called again. "You're friend is down here waiting!"
'My friend?' That was enough to get the pinkette to shake of his morning sleepiness to come down the stairs. "My friend?" he asked once he had reached the kitchen.
His mother looked over her shoulder, nodding. "Yes, he's in the living room."
Robbie noticed the woman's white coat and groaned. "Again?" he asked. "When did you come home last night?"
"I got in around midnight," she replied, placing a glass of grape juice on the kitchen counter.
"You've been home, what, seven hours?" Robert asked, sliding his glasses up the bridge of his nose. "And you're off to work again? I thought you had Tuesdays off!"
"Watch your tone," his mother replied, "and yes, I usually do have Tuesdays off but there was a bit of an accident at work."
"An accident?" the pink-haired teen asked, walking over to the fridge. "What happened?"
"Oh, nothing really," she said as she tried to figure out how to explain it. "It's just a little misunderstanding really. One of the scientist got a bit antsy and shocked a coworker." She shook her head, her red hair falling out of place. "Anyway, they're short-handed in that department so I will be covering for a bit until everything is worked out."
"Shocked?" Robert pressed, his eyebrow raised in question.
"Don't ask," she replied, pulling her hair into a loose bun. "Anyway, your friend should still be in the living room." She pressed a kiss to her son's forehead before adding, "And your juice is on the table."
"Yeah…see you later," he mumbled, walking over to the counter to get the glass after his mom walked out. The smaller redhead then came bounding in and snatched up the glass before the elder got the chance. "Skylar…that is mine!"
"Too slow!" the seven year old laughed before downing the liquid. "Gotta' move faster than that!"
"You little brat."
"Mom!" Skylar screeched. "Robbie's picking on me!"
"Rob, leave your brother alone!" she called from the door.
"I didn't even do anything!" the pinkette shouted, glaring at the grinning redhead. "You're dead," he murmured as he walked over to his little brother.
The small child continued to smile until he heard the front door close and that's when his smile turned into a wide-eyed stare as his older smirked. The eldest of the two picked up his pace as the youngest backed off.
"Um…"
"Who are you going to call now, Skylar?" Robert asked all too happily for his brother's liking. The small child backed into the living room, his brother still walking towards. "Who are you going to call?"
"Ace!" the redhead shouted before turning and running behind the couch.
"Yeah, right," the pinkette said, rolling his eyes as he made his way around the couch. He grabbed his brother by the back of his sleeping shirt and hoisted him up. "Stop being a brat, got that?" Skylar poked out his bottom lip. "That's not going to work!"
"Ace!" the small child whined .
"Yes?"
Robert slowly looked over his shoulder and released the wiggling boy as he stared at the raven from last night. The PDA tilted his head slightly to the side but soon smiled as the small redhead ran over, clinging to his black pant leg.
"Ah, what's wrong, Skylar?" Ace asked, looking down at the small, hazel-eyed child at his side. "Was Robbie being mean?" Said child looked up at him and nodded, his bottom lip poking out once more. "Tell you what, you go in the kitchen and eat up, kay? He won't mess with you anymore."
"Ok," Skylar said prior to running back into the kitchen.
Once he was gone, Ace turned his attention back on the pink-haired teen that was looking confused as ever. Making his way over, the PDA stood before him and leaned down at bit, watching as Robbie furrowed his brow.
"What…you…why are you still here?" Rob asked after carefully choosing his words.
The raven merely smiled and leaned in close enough to make the other's face match the color of his hair.
"You let your brother get to you too much."
"Huh?"
"Tell you what," Ace said. "Head upstairs, wash up and get dressed. By the time you return, Skylar will be gone and you will have breakfast on the table."
"What?" Robert asked, still not quite comprehending what was happening.
Shaking his head, the PDA stood straight, took the pinkette by the arm and led him towards the stairs, smiling the entire time as the other stared at him in a mixture of confusion and shock. Once at the foot of the stairwell, he pointed upward and watched as the teen headed up the stairs, looking down at him every once in a while.
"Skylar," Ace said once he heard the older brother's door close, "let's get you ready for school."
Robert sat quiet and alone in is first block History class. It was the same as yesterday. Kaito did not meet him in the school courtyard nor did he stop by the locker. The pinkette noticed the purplette in the hall but both turned and looked in the other direction, a brief greeting not even being exchanged.
'It's fine,' the teen thought to himself as he flipped through the chapter pertaining to the Third World War of 2078. 'If he won't talk, it's not the end of the world.' He nodded to himself as he took notes. 'Nope, I can…' His mind drew a blank and that's when he frowned. He did everything with Kai. 'He's isn't going to forgive me…'
"Alright, class," the teacher began, "You all have a paper due on Thursday pertaining to today's chap-"
The intercom interrupted with: "Excuse me but can a Mr. Harukana report to the office please."
Several students turned their attention to the pinkette before the teacher groaned, pointing to the door.
"Harukana, I'm sure you know the way," Mr. Heralds said. "Take your things as well."
"Yes, sir," the teen murmured, collecting his folder and books.
"And Harukana," the man called before the teen walked out. "The paper due on Thursday pertains to today's chapter. Four pages need to be typed up and double space the paragraphs."
The pinkette nodded before walking out. He shifted his book bag several times as he trekked the halls, his eyes focused on the floor. As he trudged by the lockers, he happened to look up to see Kai rummaging through his as if to find something.
"Ugh, where is it?" the purplette grumbled, moving books and papers aside.
"Second block is your math class, right?" the pinkette asked as he continued on his way. He already knew the other wouldn't answer. "If you're looking for the textbook, you usually keep it on the highest shelf in the back."
Dark grey eyes drifted towards the departing pinkette that didn't bother to look back while a hand steadily searched the shelf on top. Once Rob had faded from sight, Kaito pulled out the blue textbook marked Geometry.
"Um, thanks," the violet-haired teen said to no one in particular before closing his locker and heading down the hall in the same direction the hazel-eyed teen had gone.
He only paused when he took notice of a flustered Robert standing in front of the office speaking with an unusually calm person dressed in red and black.
"I simply came to return this," the raven replied, holding out what seemed to be a cell phone. "You had left in such a hurry that you left it on the table. I figured you'd need it."
"How did you even get here?" the pinkette asked impatiently.
"I walked of course."
"How did you even find the school?" Robert asked. "I didn't tell you!"
"Skylar mentioned the name while you were upstairs," the other replied coolly. "GPS did the rest."
"GP-what?" the pinkette practically shouted. The other merely tapped the side of his head. "In your head?" Ace nodded. "Sure, right, whatever."
Frowning slightly, the raven took a step forward and placed one cool finger to the teen's lips. "You'll cause a scene," he said, slowly sliding his gaze over to the purplette he noticed a while ago. "Anyway, since I came all this way-" Dull red eyes focused on the hazel once more. "-I made you lunch."
"You made…me lunch?" Robbie asked quietly, his face a soft pink color from what Kaito could tell. "Ace, why would you-"
"Can't have you bad-tempered from lack of food, right?" Ace said, ruffling the pink strands with a smile.
"Lack of food?"
The pink-haired teen raised a eyebrow in question as the raven nodded. "You didn't eat last night and barely did this morning, even if you were running a bit late. And to think that pizza I made had gone to waste."
"You made that?"
Ace nodded as the bell rang. "Anyway, I'll see you at lunch, 'kay?"
"At lunch?" Robert asked, hiking his brow further.
The PDA beamed. "I got a visitor's pass."
"Visit-what?"
"Off to class with you now," Ace said in a singsong manner as the halls began to crowd. "See you in the courtyard."
Amongst the students, the strange raven disappeared from the pinkette's sight, leaving him baffled as he trekked to his next class. Though Robert couldn't see the PDA, Kaito watched as the odd individual walked down the hall and disappear into what looked like the gym.
