Monday morning was bright. The sun was shining and not a cloud was in its way. A gentle breeze rustled the trees of Vetay High and everything was at peace. Well, everything was peaceful in the other schoolmates' opinions. It was going on eleven forty-five, lunch time in other words, and the pinkette was standing in front of his locker exchanging his books for his next two classes.524Please respect copyright.PENANAginiKn475R
He had walked to his first two classes alone, his head down so no one could see the dejected look he had since last Friday evening. He hadn't seen Kaito and the purplette was never the type to skip class so Robert just assumed he was sick; that or his friend was avoiding him.
Was Kaito even his friend now?
With a sigh, the pink-haired teen closed his locker and headed to the cafeteria. As he walked, his eyes slowly wandered the hallway hoping to find the familiar purple-haired teen standing somewhere. In the end, Rob ended his futile search and opened the door to the cafeteria. It was when he had stopped looking did he run into the missing person.
"I'm sorry," the pinkette said without looking up to see who he had run into.
"It's fine," the other said dully, walking around him. "Just…look up when you walk, ok?"
"K-Kai?" Rob asked as his head shot up. He saw no one in front of him so he turned around. "Kaito…"
Kaito stopped but did not turn around for a moment. When he finally did, his dark grey eyes met up with the hazel ones hidden behind the glasses. Kaito's expression was flat and his eyes were lidded in a way that made him distant, uninterested in communication.524Please respect copyright.PENANAR1WEgWjbBD
Robert flinched involuntarily but took a small step forward. "Hey, um, can we talk for a moment?" A violet eyebrow arched itself. "I mean in private."
"Um, no thanks," Kai said before walking back down the hall. "See ya' around."
"Kaito!"
Some of the chatter coming from the students closest to the door ceased and the pinkette turned to see them staring at him. Some appeared to be amused while others had curiosity painted along their face. Uninterested in being a spectacle, Robert closed the door, though it was rather hard, and walked out through the side door to spend his lunch period in the courtyard.
Crossing the yard, the pink-haired teen took a seat beneath a large oak. For some reason, he had lost his appetite and decided to read a book. Burying his nose into his story, he failed to realize that everyone else had begun to walk over to Rebecca Taiyo.
Said person was the other person in the pinkette's life that seemed to escape him. She stood at least an inch or two taller than him. Her wavy, dark red hair cascaded over her shoulders and her blue, almond-shaped eyes looked around the crowd as she held up fliers.
"Party at my place on Saturday!" she called. "Hey, Kaito!"
The hazel eyes drifted up slowly to see the purplette halt mid stride, part of a slice of pizza still hanging out of his mouth. His grey eyes held a bit of curiosity though a small amount of disinterest as well. As the redhead waved a yellow flier over her head, Kai walked over, pulling the pizza from his mouth.
"What's up?" he asked.
"Party at my place this Saturday," Rebecca said, holding out the flier, "and I want you to come too, 'kay?"
"Oh," the violet-haired teen said, taking the yellow paper, "thanks…I'll try to show up."
She smiled at him before tending to others that were crowded around her. Robert wasn't even interested in the party itself. He was more curious to see the Kaito's reaction. Feeling eyes upon him, Kai looked towards the tree and stared at the pink-haired teen sitting alone with his book.
Not knowing what else to do, Robert waved, only to have the other turn and hurry on his way. Frowning, the one with glasses stood up and collected his things before heading back inside. He'd see Kai in their last class: Chemistry.
As the bell rang, everyone had taken their seat, excluding the purplette that had been held up in his previous class. His brow wrinkled as he had a look around, seeing no other chairs opened. Cursing himself mentally, Kaito walked to the back of the room and took the only available seat next to Robert who was looking out the window.
Per usual, Kai pulled out his notes and rummaged through his bag for a black pen. He clicked his tongue as he faced forward. His grey eyes then drifted to his left to see Robert holding out a pen, his eyes never leaving the window as the teacher began the lecture on how to convert grams into moles and vice versa.
"Take it," the pinkette whispered. "You wouldn't want to miss anything."
Kai turned his head to see the pinkette propping his head up with one hand, his eyes focused on something outside while his other hand set the pen down on the table. The purplette had attempted to say thanks but his mouth wouldn't form the words. After a few moments, Robert had pulled out another writing utensil and began doodling on the table. Kaito tilted his head a bit to see what the other was drawing but the pink-haired teen covered it with his arm. His gaze drifted towards the other pair, simply to watch them shoot back to the front of the classroom.
"Kaito," the one closest to the window whispered, "can we talk after class?"
"Shh…" the purplette said, picking up the pen to write the formula that was on the board.
Hazel eyes narrowed as they stared at the person beside them. "You promised you wouldn't be mad."
"No one said I was mad."
"Well, why do you keep ignoring me?"
"Harukana, we're in class," Kaito replied, turning the page in his book.
"Kaito-"
"We need to write down these conversions, Rob-"
"Screw the conversions, Kai!"
"Mr. Harukana!" The pinkette's head turned quickly to see the chemistry teacher glaring at him, her foot tapping against the jade linoleum floor. "Is there a problem?"
The pink-haired teen held his breath, his cheeks a bright red as he looked around the room. All eyes were on him while the one beside him just looked ahead, writing down the conversions. Kai only stopped to turn the page, his eyes sparing a brief glance to the one to his left.
"Write the formulas," the purplette said, "and be quiet. You're causing a scene, Haru-"
"Mrs. Tarris, may I be excused?" the pinkette asked.
"Whatever for?" the teacher asked, her foot still tapping.
"I-I have a headache," Robert said. The woman arched a thin brown brow. "And I…feel queasy."
"Fine," Mrs. Tarris said, walking over to her desk to write the flushed teen a hall pass. "Your homework is the discussion questions on page 345 through 349."
The pink-haired teen nodded as he collected his things and received the slip. He gave his apology to the woman before hurrying out of the class. The infirmary was the last place he was headed. Sneaking past the front office, the pinkette hurried out the front door and ran off campus. When he left his Chem. Class, he didn't actually feel sick but as he got closer and closer to his house, Robert began to feel nauseas. And by the time he had reached his door, he was slightly out of breath, sweat making his pink hair cling to his forehead.
'I probably should've eaten lunch,' he thought as he rummaged through his pockets.
Finding his key, the teen unlocked his door and slipped inside, dropping his bag on the hardwood floor. The house was empty since he had not seen his mother's car out front and Skylar wouldn't have been home for a few more hours.
With nothing else to do, the pinkette took a seat by the front door. He removed his glasses and massaged his temples before sliding the frames back on his face. His stomach growled and seemed to fill the entire lower floor with sound. Groaning, the teen stood back up and removed his shoes before walking past the living room. His attention fell upon a tall box at the center and he walked over to it, forgetting his moment of hunger as he saw a paper attached the box taller than he.
The package belongs to Robert Harukana.
'I guess it came when mom was home.'
We ask that if you are not said person, you do not remove the seal along the package.
'Privacy. How thoughtful,' the teen thought to himself.
Robert eyed the large box as he circled it. He stopped as he noticed a small tag along the top half. Being short, he had to stand up his toes to catch a glance.

The brunette scientist strolled into the lab, his hands in his pockets as he came across the green-haired scientist resting his head on a desk; a small computer worked on an algorithm pertaining to the blueprints of the last PDA experiment.
"What's with you, Jay?" Kay asked, staring down at the zombie-like scientist. "You've been awfully quiet today."
"Hmphf," the other replied as he paused the computer program. "It's nothing."
"Sure," the brunette said, pulling the algorithm up onto the wall to wall computer screen before walking over to said object. "Anyway, did you find what was wrong with Version 1?"
"Eh," the greenette muttered with a shrug. "Nanites maybe…"
Eyes the color of amethyst looked away from the wall-sized computer to look at the nonchalant partner who had just sat at the desk, his green hair covering part of his face.
"Jay, we need to talk," Kay said, his arms folded along his chest now.
"Whatever it was, I didn't do it…this time," the blue-eyed scientist said, mumbling the last part. "Imma' take a nap now."
"A-a nap? It's almost two thirty in the afternoon!" He received a yawn as his answer. "Jay!"
"Keep it down, would you?" Jay asked.
The brunette eyed him warily before walking over to the now sleepy partner. The greenette's face was buried in the material of his jacket and the one known as Kay felt his eye twitch ever so slightly as he heard what sounded like a small snore.
"Jay!" the violet-eyed man shouted. "Wake up, you dunce!"
The green-haired man turned his head and resumed his current activity, ignoring the ominous aura emanating off his brown-haired associate.
"No problem has been detected in Version 1's blueprints."
Kay looked towards the computer.
"Shall I run the algorithm again?"
"Sure," the brunette replied, looking back towards the sleeping man. "Jay…what's with you?"
Mumbling something incoherently, Jay pulled out a piece of paper and held it out to the brunette. Once the other had taken the slip, the greenette resumed his nap, snoring a bit louder so his partner would take the hint to leave him alone.
Looking over the paper, Kay narrowed his eyes from either sheer irritation or was it slight surprise.
"You're joking, right?"
The green-haired man snored again and the brunette set the paper down, scratching his head as he went back to the computer.
On the paper was four simple words:
I don't do Mondays.
