Blue and I, were sitting in a tree. No, no, not k-i-s-s-i-n-g. We were just sitting and talking. The tree produced purple leaves, and purple berries, and purple bark.
It was satisfying. To sit in the tree with him. He was brilliant. Brilliant. And he loved to talk to me. Always. He just loved it. Which made me wonder why he left.
"Have you ever thought this tree changes more than it should?" He asked me, "Be honest."
"Not in the slightest." And I said it because the tree was purple. And I loved it being purple. All that mattered was the trees color at that time, nothing else seemed to matter to me. Except for Blue. Of course, he topped the tree.
To you it might sound dull. That I would keep my focus on the color of the tree. But believe me, the color didn't last long. Just as he promised it wouldn't.
I was happy. Jittery. Amazed by Blue's want for me. But then Glitter came along. And that want was ruined.
The tree's leaves and berries fell from the tree, and rotted on the ground. The bark slowly peeled off the tree, and from underneath was the bark of sparkled blue. Glittered Blue. Out sprouted new sparkled blue berries and leaves. And my Purple, my dying Purple, had long gone.
He promised it wouldn't last. He'd never broken a promise.
