Name: Alicia Regina Idalia Ackerknecht (Aria)
Nationality: German
Class: Ascendant
Alicia’s a classic example of playing in spite of her class, not in tandem with it. Despite being a Support class, she woke up and chose violence, working as something of a player bounty hunter. As her class is by no means conducive to this, she utilizes numerous equipment pieces instead, such as syringes, poison lipstick, and of course her razor-tipped ribbons.
Her ability is BETRAY THE SON OF MAN WITH A KISS, allowing her to steal abilities or skills from any player or NPC her lips touch. However, she can only hold about two for any length of time without causing mental strain. In the short-term however, she can hold far more than that. This is a key way in which she hunts and defeats her foes, getting in close than taking their strongest powers from them, breaking their strategies and killing them with their own abilities.
Class-wise, the Ascendant is a Martial-themed support class, which allows the player to give commands to their team, granting them long-term stat boosts. Commanding an attack amps damage, commanding them to survive grants regeneration, commanding a charge buffs their speed, etc. She can even remove those buffs later for one-time effects, either high-power abilities or even taking manual control of her allies. However, Alicia as she is now doesn’t have any allies to use these powers on, unfortunately.
Alicia’s character arc is one I’m particularly attached to, so I can’t go into too much detail, but I will say she and her dad have a great father-daughter relationship, which isn’t much seen in media these days. In fact, it was him that brought their family into the nouveau-riche, primarily for her sake, through entrepreneurship and clever investing. Every story has “that rich character” for plot purposes, even mainstream stories like The Avengers, but I wanted to take the Ackernecht family in a different direction than the norm, having them recently acquire their wealth through clever dealings, as opposed to the usual family fortune.
When Nor drew Alicia, she had one theme in mind; R I B B O N S. I’m not really sure why things ended up that way, but I think the result turned out quite nicely. I also love her belt of test-tubes filled with various toxins. Alicia’s by all accounts a classic femme fatale, but taken in a more fantasy/video game direction than the usual spandex spy kind. Either way, I’d advise not getting too close.
