When we got home after our big adventure for the day, Mitch and I sat on the couch in the living room while Ashlie read in her room.
"So what was the surprise?" I asked.
"You're not actually related to your family, Cherry," Mitch said, "You were adopted when you were five months old. Your biological parents had you and your twin brother, but died while you were still young. Your twin brother, Grayson, was adopted into the Charleston family, while you were adopted into the Steele family."
"So why is my dad so overprotective of me?" I asked.
"All three families were close," Mitch said, "But you were an Omega, while your twin was an Alpha. Your adoptive father wanted to protect you from the dangers of the world, but since you went a little wild in high school and got pregnant, only to become a recluse later due to the trauma you got from being with that man. He was very concerned and just wanted what was best for you. You're not very good at decision making and can be very reckless."
"Of course," I said, "But I feel like I've changed since meeting you. I'm not really happy that you investigated me and my family, but I guess it's better that I know than not know." Mitch frowned.
"I was told this when I had everything with Ashlie investigated," Mitch said, "I didn't exactly want to know it, but now I know it, I feel like you should too. I was given a picture of your bio parents if you want to see them." I took a deep breath, thinking about whether or not I actually wanted to see them. It's not like I actually knew them or anything about them.
"Sure," I said. Mitch took out his phone and showed me a picture of a family. The parents were two men holding twin babies who looked like newborns, one of the men had black hair and green eyes, the other man had brown hair and blue eyes, and both babies had black hair and had their eyes closed.
