Isaiah and I never finished our game of basketball because my ma ran over the ball with her damn car. 

I threw the ball and it bounced off the hoop and landed into my driveway. Right when that happened she backed up on it. 

That old bastard even yelled at me for it, charging at me like a damn cheetah. With all of the cheetah prints on her body, she could be charged with murdering her own kind. 

Isaiah had clear the patches with his ma and moved back in with her. Usually what he wants is what he gets. . . So probably his ma had a break down with his selfish self and kicked him out the house for a few days, I don't blame her, he has a face that you want to punch. 

"Hurry and get your shit together for tomorrow." My ma poked her head into my room, hitting the door frame with her hand. 

"Like I said before, I don't want to go. Your family is crazy."

"Boy I will knock you upside your head." She stared at me for a while then she left.

"Get your ass up! Damn, why am I still waking up a sixteen year old?!" My ma hit me on my leg to wake me up. 

"You choose to wake me up. You can just leave me here."

"Don't get smart with me. Get your tail in the shower."

I took my damn shower and got ready to go. My ma is terrible at singing. . . I warn people that has an AUX cord, to not give it to her! She will play the most ratchetest music ever, then acts like she can sing. 

I know it sounds like I hate my ma, and I do. And she just acts like trash. . . Sleeping with men and stuff. She is getting it in. . . Her. I want to have sex, but here's me, trying to hit on girls, and fails miserably. 

Then my ma said I should stick with guys, and started laughing. Plus she hits me and told me if I did then she knew all along.

"Caleb!" Isaiah came with a basketball in his hand. "Yeah, I'm shooting hoops with the uncle's."

"I didn't even ask dumbass." I responded. "Bet they are calling you stupid over there."

"Nope. They are just laughing, we are having a great time."

"Bitch, they are laughing at you."

"You don't know."

"Hey baller! Get back over here and show your great moves to your aunt!" I saw my uncle yelled for him. 

Isaiah slapped my arm and ran back to them. He is fucking slow. He ain't no 'baller'.

I was by the grill with my uncle along with Isaiah, and Isaiah tried to play it cool by having reasons to hold my hand. 'Of course, I grabbed the chick by the hand and tired to pull her in to give me a kiss. . .' Held my hand then. '. . . Yeah, and for some reason this girl grabbed my hand. . .'

"Hey Caleb, you know how to work a grill?" My uncle asked. 

"No." I responded. 

"A man that doesn't know how to work a grill is a fucking queer. . . Lisa! You better teach this boy how to grill! The hell is wrong you?" He yelled to my ma. 

My ma was washing down a beer knowing that she has to drive us home. "You teach him!"

"Look boy. . ."

"You didn't ask Isaiah if he could." I interrupted him. 

"I know he does, now look, all you have to do. . ." I blocked out all the words as I felt Isaiah's hands touching my ass. He was rocking back and forth and with every swing his hands would touch my butt. 

After my uncle was rambled on, he held up a tray and told me to take it inside the house and to the kitchen. Of course Isaiah followed along. 

As I did that I hugged all my relative and just stayed in the house beside grandma that was watching tv. 

"You boys be good you hear? With our family and all. My children has no respect whatsoever in this house. Cursing and talking mess. You boys be better than that." My grandma gave us a lecture. 

"Okay." We both said at the same time. 

She held onto my hand and we all watched an old boring show that was before my ma's time. And as we heard our other family members fighting and cussing out there my grandma was shaking her hand. 

"Grandma," I started to say, "I need to use the bathroom."

"You don't have to ask me to go."

"Yeah but, your hand."

She started to laugh. "Oh oh, thats right." She let go of my hand and Isaiah got up and went along with me. 

"Why the hell are you following me?" I questioned as we were on the other side of the house where no one went to, only to use the bathroom. 

"Because I wanted to tell you something really important and I finally got a chance to do so."

"What is it?"

"You know since we didn't finish our bet, I was really disappointed that I didn't even have a chance of going out with you. And the fact that I have to beat you in a game to date you, really seems like it's not worth it. Even if I did win, your attitude towards me wouldn't change."

I looked at this fool like he went to college. Why all of a sudden he is talking all smart for? "The fuck?"

"I've been thinking it over for a while now. You should give me props for that."

"So you know how I feel then?"

"Yeah, but I still like you, and I really want you to be the first person I date and hopefully my last."

"You are talking nonsense."

"Whatever." He walked off the other direction and finally disappeared from my site. 

Did it finally got through to him that I didn't want to date him? And why did it take four words for him to understand?! Whatever, I'm not even gay.

As we tried to bless the food, with this idiot cussing in the middle of it and someone already fixing their plate while it was going on, my grandma just quit, knowing that this family is far beyond fixing. 

Isaiah wouldn't get near me or even look at me. Hanging out with our family members that are way younger than him, instead of hanging out with me who is the same age. It doesn't make sense, he's a dog to me. Following me around and, I don't know, make me feel like I am popular for some reason. 

Now I just feel like a jackass with no one to laugh over my shoulder, like all of the bullies with their friends laughing along with them. 

Why would he be upset about me not liking him back? He is acting like a child, be a man and take rejection. There is plenty more guys like me somewhere. . . Everywhere in this damn town. I hate feeling lonely, just him ignoring me like that?! Dammit, why does he have to be dumb?!

It's alright Caleb, you have possibly an acquaintance up your sleeve that actually enjoy hanging around you. School, maybe not. . . On Xbox live. . . No, I'm a fucking hater up there. 

I am freaking out! All I need to eat. . . Just eat your food you little fuck. No, I just need to calm down. . . Yes, just. . . I don't know. 

I admit that I was staring at him, and I saw him walked out the room that everyone was eating in. 

I followed behind and he was heading to the bathroom. Right when he was about to close it, I ran to stop it and slid inside. 

"Wh- what the fuck?" Isaiah said.

"That is what I am suppose to say."

"Get out!"

"Not until you explain."

"Explain what?!"

I kept my back to the door. "Why are you now just avoiding me?! You are suppose to follow me!"

"Why would I follow someone that doesn't want me? I did that so you will notice that I was there and you would probably have feelings for me."

"You make me sound like a loner." I started to get angry and I pushed him.

"You are, your little attitude, no one wants to hang out with you. I can't believe I kept up with it as long as I have, oh thats right, I had feelings for you and I wanted us to date."

"Well that is not going to happen."

"Okay then, now get out, I don't care no more."

". . . No."

"Fine, then you don't care if I force myself on you then?" 

"I. . . I would mind." I got really nervous, but I was against the door not him, I can open it up if I could. 

"Why don't you just leave?! You didn't want me to come near you, and now! You don't want me to be away from you! Figure yourself out!"

"I did!"

"Apparently not if you don't tell me clearly what the hell you want from me."

"I just. . . Want you. . . To be. . . You know."

He grabbed my arm and squeezed it while he pulled me close. "You know, people including you think I am stupid, but to tell you the truth, I'm not. I just act dumb so. . . When I do something wrong or bad, people will just say that I am stupid, and won't give it a second thought."

I just stared at him with eyes wide open.

"So, if I you run out this bathroom with your underwear, around your ankles. . . Do you think our family will give it a second thought? 'Oh these two fagots were fucking.' And they will just think that we were playing around, when we were actually doing it."

"You are scaring me, let go, it hurts." 

He started to laugh, "That is was you are going to say later down the road. So, get out. . . Let me do what I gotta do. . . And I'll talk to my ma about letting me stay over at your house next week. "Hopefully your ma will be like the hoe she is, and leave the house to fuck a dude. . . I'm tired of being nice to you, and getting slandering words being brought back to me. Now, what I want, I get, and if I have to force you to get it I will."

He let go of my arm and I ran out the bathroom. The only person that I know that won't say anything mean to me was my grandma.

"How was the food?" She asked me.

"It was good, but I didn't finish it."

"Boy, no wonder you are skinny, I thought your ma wasn't feeding you, but it's just that you weren't eating."

"Grandma. . ."

"I'm not finished. . . Get a big slice of sweet potato pie, and come back in here and finish it."

I got from the couch and went to the kitchen and Isaiah was right by the pie. "Oh, Caleb, I got the last slice, and I'm going to get a slice of that ass next weekend."

"Your ma said yes?"

"Of course! Then when we are there we can have pizza then watch a movie!" His was showing his dumb side. 

"Hey dude, stop acting like a little gay lord." My uncle came to the kitchen. 

"I'm not, I'm just happy to go to his house."

"Haha! Alright stupid."

"Don't call my son stupid, you are more dumb than he is!" Isaiah ma yelled. 

"He doesn't keep up with bills!"

"You don't either, your baby mama does." Everyone started to laugh. 

"Oh ha. . ."

Isaiah came to my ear. "What movie you wanna watch? In my opinion it should be one to make you relax, so I can slowly take over your body while the movie is still going on. How about you? I think you should go with my pick."

I nudged him away and walked fast to my grandma. "Isaiah got the last slice."

"Jeez, I have to make some more."

"No it's okay." I assisted her. 

"Okay, you keep acting like you are. . . You are a very sweet boy."

"I'll try my very best." I smiled at her and I stayed by her for the rest of the day.

It was really dark when we finally left. "Ma do you know that Isaiah is coming to our house next weekend?" I asked. 

"Yeah, your ass needs to talk to people with your lonely ass."

I kept my mouth shut and just prepared my mind for next weekend, it is going to be hell."
