You grind your teeth. “I did it,” you say, your voice barely above a whisper.
”What?” Lucifer drops Ketch’s body.
You wince as you watch it crumple on the ground. You steel yourself, spinning your sword up in front of you. “I did it. I killed your bitch,” you say, smiling.
“Then you will die bloody,” Lucifer says, ripping Ketch’s sword from his dead hands and stalking towards you.

Like a snake in the grass, Lucifer moves across the battlefield towards you. Dean, Sam, Jess, Benny, Meg, and Rowena are at your side while Crowley swishes his tail behind you; he’s growing increasingly agitated the closer Lucifer gets.
“I need to get to Charlie and Kevin,” Rowena says. “Lucifer has been siphoning my power. I need to reverse it so I can break the curses. Will you help me, Fergus?”
“What?” He breaks his gaze from Lucifer, coming back to himself as he looks down at Rowena.
“Will you help me?”
“Of course, Mother.”
“You need to keep him occupied,” she says, looking to the rest of you.
“He wants me,” you say to her. “I’ve got this,” you continue, flipping up your sword.
Rowena grips Y/N's sword muttering a spell as Lucifer continues toward you. The dead rise and follow him and your heart breaks again as you watch Ketch and Cain join the hoard.
“What the hell?” Dean asks and everyone turns, following his gaze.
“That ain’t good,” Benny says.
“You need to hurry,” Sam says to Rowena. To Dean, he says, “I’m going to check on Dad, then I’ll be back.”
“Go,” Dean growls.
“I’ll take you,” Crowley says.
Releasing your sword Rowena climbs onto Crowley’s back, followed by Sam, then they lift into the sky and fly away; a small part of you wishes you could do the same.
Dean pulls you to him, his kiss rough and urgent, it’s almost enough to make you forget what’s coming. With his forehead pressed to yours, he says, “Keep him busy; don’t let him get too close.” Then he, Benny, and Jess spread out, readying themselves to take on the army of the dead building behind Lucifer.
“Looks like everyone’s leaving you,” Lucifer calls, creeping ever closer to you.
“Oh, honey, I’m sticking around; I want to play too,” Meg says, coming to your side.
You spot Castiel across the battlefield with Gadreel. They’re running, positioning themselves to take on the army from the opposite side. Keep him busy, you think to yourself.
“Then let’s dance,” he says, stopping a hundred feet away.
You and Meg move towards him, signaling to her with your eyes, she nods in understanding. You’ve done this many times before. If you can’t have Dean by your side, Meg is the next best person. Rushing forward, you swing at him and your swords meet in a clash of metal. Meg comes in from the side, but Lucifer catches her face with his fist. She falls back as he swings for you again; parrying his attacks, you mount your own. Your swords slide over each other’s and you’re face to face when he throws up an elbow.
You stumble back, wiping your mouth as the taste of copper swirls over your tongue. The sounds of battle ring out all around you. Lucifer advances, his fist connecting with your cheek, forcing you to drop to one knee.
“Get up, bitch!”
Keep him busy, it’s become your mantra. Give Rowena time. Pushing off the ground with your fist, you swing your sword up just as Lucifer slices down at you with his. Taking advantage of his momentary surprise you punch him in the gut and he stumbles back
Meg is at your side once more, her eye swollen shut and blood running down her chin and neck. You imagine you look much the same. You both lunge, catching Lucifer off guard. Meg swings her sword at his side as you leap and drive yours down. It’s enough to confuse him and her blade catches his side while he blocks your blow. His armor stops the brunt of the attack, but she nicks him and he falls back.
“I should have killed you long ago,” Lucifer spits. “But torturing you was so much fun.”
“Oh? I’d love to see how much fun it can be. What do you say Y/N? Should we let him live?”
“I’m gonna say no, I’d much rather watch him die.”
Meg shrugs. “Sorry, sweetie. Looks like Y/N has it bad for you. No playtime for us.”
The sky is changing again as the moon continues its way across the sky. Fear grips you, what if Rowena can’t break the curse in time?
“Awe, Y/N, I think someone’s going to be getting their wings back soon,” Lucifer says, but he drops to one knee, shaking his head. It’s working; Rowena must be getting her power back. You bring your sword down on him. He blocks it just in time, grabbing your tunic and pulling you close to him.
“No!” Meg shouts.
He looms in front of you, his face filling your vision until something in the sky catches your eye.

Dean’s POV
Benny and I fall easily into our long-practiced maneuvers as the first wave hits. I cut off the head of a man I just ran through an hour ago. Dirt, blood, and decay invade my nose and the wolf inside me howls to be let free. I’m happily surprised at how quickly Jess falls into rhythm with us. I do my best to keep an eye on Y/N as she battles Lucifer. She’s a well-trained fighter but that doesn’t stop me from worrying about her.
The dead keep coming, but I notice the still-living soldiers shaking their heads as if waking from a dream.
“Cas!” I shout. He looks over at me and I gesture to the soldiers, my father’s soldiers. He understands immediately, giving me a quick nod before running over to them.
Just then I hear Meg shout, “No!”
I look over and Lucifer has Y/N in his grip. “No!” I start running when a shadow passes overhead.
I watch as Crowley swoops low over the battlefield and Sam leaps off, landing in a roll then stopping on his knees. He’s up and running towards Y/N and Lucifer and the wolf inside me rages with jealousy. I shove it down as another dead
soldier swings his blade.

“Sammy. Coming to join our little party?” Lucifer asks, tilting his head toward him.
“It’s over Lucifer. You don’t really think you can win?”
“Oh, but I always win.” Lucifer lets go of you and begins circling Sam.
“I’d like to test that theory,” Sam says, and he swings his blade.
The clash of metal joins the din of the battle as you struggle to get to your feet.
The pain of the change has been threatening since the moon passed the sun; a reminder that the curse has not yet been broken and it’s trying to work on you.
“That was close,” Meg says.
“Yes, it was, but we have to keep him fighting. There’s no way to kill him yet. Not until Rowena is at full power.”
“Then let’s make it interesting,” Meg says, arching her brow.
“I missed you,” you laugh.
“I missed you too.”
At that moment Sam cries out as Lucifer catches his arm and is moving to strike.
“No!” you scream. It’s enough to make Lucifer turn his head. “Did you forget who killed your whore?” you taunt as you run towards him. Leaping and kicking out at him, he stumbles back briefly but charges you again. Sam is able to recover and you smile just before Lucifer’s blade nicks your arm. You meet him blow for blow, countering his attacks and mounting your own, neither of you giving an inch. Sam tries to attack, but Lucifer blocks him. Meg circles like a cat waiting for her chance to strike. But after his brief distraction with Sam, Lucifer’s focus is only on you.

Suddenly pain shoots through you. Curling into yourself and dropping to the ground you feel the change coming. Looking up to the sky, the moon has cleared the sun. A tear slips down the side of your face.
Lucifer looms over you, “Didn’t get me in time did you, little Falcon?” Lifting his sword he continues, “It was a valiant effort.” Stabbing down, his sword cuts through your belly, a sickening squelch emphasizing his last word.
“No! Y/N!” You hear Dean cry out in the distance.
Tears are streaming down your face now, pooling in the shells of your ears, as the sting grows into deep throbbing pain. Coughing, thick bubbles of blood spurt out of your mouth.
More pain comes, white-hot spreading over your palm and you almost drop your sword. But, catching yourself, you hold fast and lift it, only to find it glowing. Lucifer kneels down just as you bring it up. With your last bit of strength, you stab him through the heart. His mocking smile turns to shock as he realizes what’s happened. A short laugh escapes you, followed by intense pain, then everything is obscured by a bright white blast and the world ceases to exist.

Dean’s POV
“No! Y/N!” I’m running, slicing my blade through anything in my path. My vision is tunneled, all I see is Y/N splayed out on the ground and Lucifer’s sword going through her. My heart clenches, tears stinging my eyes, as I run faster.
Lucifer’s moving into a crouch over her when she brings up her glowing blade, pushing it through his chest. An explosion of bright white light bursts outward. I shade my eyes but keep running and when I look up again, Lucifer is gone. The reddened sky shifts back to light blue as I skid across the ground, pulling Y/N into my lap.
“Y/N?” I shake her gently. “Y/N?” She’s not waking up and I choke back the fear rising up my throat.
Sam and Meg kneel down next to me as I cradle her in my lap. I don’t know how long I sit there, but the next time I’m aware of anything besides Y/N, I’m surrounded by the entire group.
Rowena gently takes my hand. “May I, dear?” I nod, unable to speak and she takes Y/N into her lap. “Hand me her sword.” Meg passes it to Rowena and she lays it over Y/N as she murmurs a spell.
Sitting back, I watch, hoping and praying that she’ll be ok. I’m ready to tear myself apart if it means she’ll live. Y/N’s sword begins to glow again as Rowena continues the spell. The minutes stretch, until it feels like I’ve been sitting here for months, then Y/N’s chest begins to rise and fall.
I cup her face in my hands, watching as her eyes flutter open. They go wide, darting back and forth, as she takes in deep breaths. Her eyes find mine and she calms, our gaze never breaking as her shock finally fades away.
“Dean?”
“Yeah, I’m here Y/N. You’re ok.”
“Is he dead?”
“He’s dead.”
“Good.” Her eyes flutter closed again.
“Y/N?” My heart hammers in my chest.
“She’ll be ok, dear.”
“What happened?”
“She’s just going to need some time to rest.”

You wake with a start, sunlight slants through the window of the room. Blinking the sleep away, you take in the room; it’s yours or it was yours when you lived in the castle. You look down and see your arms. Your brain is sluggish and it takes you a moment to process. Once you realize that it’s day and you’re still human, you bolt upright.
Your eyes find him immediately, sleeping in the chair by the window, slumped to one side.
“Dean.” Throwing back the covers you leap out of bed.
“Y/N?”
“You’re ok. Is everyone ok?”
“Yes, everyone’s ok.” It’s all he can get out before your lips are on his and your arms are around his neck.
He responds in kind, pulling you into him like you’re the only thing holding him to this world. You keep breaking apart for quick breaths before joining lips once more. You can’t seem to get close enough; too much fabric is in your way.
As if reading your mind Dean starts removing the offending garments as you move back to the bed. The skin on skin, the contact is almost overwhelming as his hands move over your body; as if committing every curve to his memory all over again. You do the same, smoothing your hands over his taut muscles, watching his face as you brush your fingers over his chest.
Soon you’re in his lap straddling him, peppering his cheeks with kisses before he starts kissing every inch of your skin within reach; down your neck to each of your breasts. His hands caress up your legs, over your hips, stomach, and down your back, his fingers leaving trails of fire as they go. He worships your body until you’re quivering from the attention.
Then he rolls so that you’re on your back, settling himself between your thighs, his lips feathering your folds and teasing your entrance with his fingers before pushing through. He slides in setting the rhythm he wants, his thumb teasing your swollen bud, lightly flicking it until you’re grinding against him desperate for more friction.
“My impatient girl,” he says, as you buck your hips.
His tongue swirls around your sensitive bundle, then he sucks it between his lips, flicking it with his tongue as you reflexively close your legs around his head. He smirks against your skin as he plunges his fingers into you faster, curling them up, the pads brushing over your aching ridge.
Your fingers tug his hair and he growls, quickening his tongue and fingers until you’re over the edge coming with the cry of his name. You move quickly, rolling so that you can straddle him again. He looks up at you lacing his fingers with yours, his green eyes searching your face.
“I love you, Y/N.”
“I love you too, Dean.”
“We’ll never be apart again,” he says, looking up at you and capturing your lips with his.
You lower onto him slowly and he fills you inch by glorious inch until he’s fully sheathed. Your movements are unhurried, both of you taking your time to feel and remember every inch of each other. You slowly increase the pace as his hands continue caressing your skin.
The hole that had been occupying your chest these last few years is now full and light; you feel like your need could shatter you from within. Bringing Dean’s face to yours, you kiss him, hungry and soft at the same time, keeping your body low and circling your hips as you increase the pressure on your bud. Sensing the shift, he moves a hand between you, circling your clit until you come undone.
“God, yes, Dean!”
His arms tighten around you, your orgasm pulling him over the edge with you.
“Y/N!” he growls.
Your head drops to his shoulder, breaths heavy as you come down in sated silence. Finally, you lift up looking into his dazzling peridot eyes.
“I love you,” you say, dipping down for a quick kiss.
“I love you too,” he says, running his fingers through your hair.
Dropping back on the bed together, your eyes drink each other in as he brushes your hair back from your face.
“I missed you,” he says, fingers lingering on your cheek.
“I missed you too.”
“Let’s get married.”
“What?” you ask, surprised.
“Well, that’s what we were going to do, before, everything,” he says, looking down.
“Yes.”
He looks back up at you.
“Really?”
“Yes, really.” You laugh at his surprise.
“So, in a month, when we finally emerge from this room, we’ll let everybody
know,” he says, pulling you underneath him.
“I like that plan.” You look up at him, your hand brushing his cheek.
Closing his eyes, he leans into your palm, then he dips down and kisses you again.
