Angel and Raeven were mesmerized by the last person who entered the assembly hall. The girl was beautiful and she looked familiar to Raeven.
"That's the famous model's daughter."
"The what?" Angel was confused.
Raeven let out a dry laugh, "don't you know her mother? She's so famous for her catwalk. Well, she has retired and opened a modeling agency now. " She said nonchalantly. Angel felt troubled talking to her, with her tone and the way she talks made you think she was easy to get bored with anything.
"I pay little attention to that kind of thing. I mean, I know that things are best left as they are. I don't gossip. I have much better things to do than be a gossipmonger." She said matter-of-factly. As if she will spend most of her time glossing over magazines and knowing the ins and outs of fashion. Just like typical rich girls do.
Raeven looked at her and said, "you should know these things as well. It would be basic information. I’m sure your family knows her. I mean, all the rich families in this city."
"I sure do not know such a thing. I mean, why would I need to learn that in the first place?"
Now she caught Raeven's full attention, "geez, you're boring, aren't you?" It was sarcastic, and Angel was taken aback, but she was not offended. "In this world, you need to know such a simple thing just like this one. Especially in our circle, there are different people that we associate with every day. Some people are honest, and some who were fake, those people who wanted to get close to us either to take advantage of us or to get the best shot to destroy us." She continued.
Raeven was guilty of talking like a crazy girl right now. She looks at the innocent girl beside her. She bit her blood-red plump lips. "I'm not scaring you, okay? I know that you know that in this world nothing is pure and people without motives. Like the fact that you are the only daughter of the famous department store First Choice. Just that information was enough for you to attract attention.
Angel was surprised. "So, you knew..." It was notable to mention that she was not a party person, whenever her parents threw parties she stayed away from attention and let her brother enjoy the attention instead. So few know what she looks like.
Raeven snorts, "When I heard your name. As if nobody knows your store, duh."
Angel cannot help but let out a soft laugh, "you're childish, that I know of. "
"Geez, you know how to twist my words..." She said and looked in the front with indifference visible in her eyes. Raeven realized that she was being familiar with her, but looking on the positive side, it was the feeling that she can get used to. With her, she can be herself. It was unthinkable and the fact that it only took a mere couple of minutes to break the barriers.
As for Angel, knowing herself, she was all for making friends and how she can be of any help to them. Well, that is her nature.
Raeven was mesmerized by how Angel's honest self brought her walls of indifference down. How she was looking forward to their everyday encounter from this day forward.
'Say, Angel, what class section are you in?" Raeven asked while they were walking out of the assembly hall. The welcome ceremony was over.
"Uhm, I'm 1-A. How about you?"
Raeven's eyes cannot hide her smile, "oh, my, we're in the same class. I think this is fate..."
Angel can't help but laugh at her. For Raeven, it was one of those days where you want to be with someone and appreciate life.
"Well, I guess, we need to do our best to be in the privileged class."
And with just that, things become better for someone like Raeven who doesn't trust easily.
