Chapter 27(Kage Hikaru)
Hisoka wanted us to leave the library and hang around the hotel. Kenji and Isamu helped out with locking dangerous rooms, like the furnace room. They also removed all dangerous items out of the dining hall. And I haven’t seen Akira since she said she needed the bathroom. Knowing her, she probably went to the library and noticed nobody was there, so she’d head to the hotel. Even so, I had a weird feeling inside of me. Surely I would cross paths with her then? Unless she was still in the bathroom. I walked out of the hotel and to the library. I check upstairs. No one was there. Then maybe she is at the hotel, and I just didn’t see her. I headed back, with the worry slightly off my mind.
“Hey Kage.” Kenji said.
“Hi Kenji,” I replied. “Did you need something?”
“I was just wondering where Akira is,” He said. “I mean, this hotel is pretty big, so I guess it would make sense that I didn’t see her yet. But with the places locked, it should be easier to find her, right?”
“Yeah, I was thinking that,” I agreed. “Did anyone else see her?”
“Everyone is wondering, you know,” Kenji replied. “Isamu is looking all over the hotel.”
Just then, we heard a scream. “Ahhhhh!”
“It came from one of the bathrooms!” Hisoka cried. We rushed to the main hall, where the bathrooms were.
“Everyone, over here!” We heard Isamu cry.
It was just behind the girl’s bathroom.
Hisoka slowly opened the door.
Akira was lying down with blood everywhere. The sink was overfilled with water and blood, and there was my name spray painted on the wall. I immediately rushed over to her. “Akira!”
“D-Don’t touch it,” Hisoka warned. “You don’t want blood on yourself.”
“Who cares?” Kenji asked. “She’s badly injured.”

“A body has been discovered!” Monokuma announced.
No, I thought. This…isn’t real.
“We promised this would never happen!” Isamu cried. “Why Akira?”
“We have to investigate,” Hisoka said. “We have to find out who killed her.”
“This is horrible.” Kenji said.
“Well, there’s one thing I know for sure,” Isamu started. “There’s an asshole among you guys.”
“Wha-why aren’t you including yourself?” Kenji asked. “You’re a suspect too, you know!”
“What the heck?” Isamu asked back. “I didn’t do it!”
“But you don’t actually have proof for that, right?” Hisoka asked.
“Do you wanna go?!”
“Stop fighting,” I said. “Just stop.”
“Y-You’re right,” Hisoka agreed. “We have to investigate, right?”
Kenji let out an annoyed sigh. “Another trial?”
Just then, Monokuma appeared. “Yes, another trial!”
“Ah-!”
“But of course, you can’t investigate without the handy dandy Monokuma file!” He handed it to us.
Victim was Akira Yasu. She had a head injury, scratches on her arm, and a bruised left wrist.
Who did this? I thought. How could someone do this? She was so nice, and caring. She didn’t even get to know her talent. I let out a shaky breath.
“Okay, Isamu. Can you examine the corpse? I’ll check the surroundings. Kenji and Hisoka, check her dorm and the other rooms.”
Kenji and Hisoka left the bathroom, while Isamu and I stayed.
Isamu kneeled down to Akira’s body and examined it. I decided to check my name sprayed on the wall. Did she do this? If so, why?
Next, I checked the blood on the floor. It looks like drag marks. Dragging the body is probably a possibility. There was some blood on the wall. As if there was some kind of struggle. A smiley face mask was on the floor, covered in blood. Was the killer wearing this? The sink was overfilled with blood and water. Did the struggle start here?
“Isamu, what did you find?” I asked her.
“Her head was bashed real bad,” She replied. “It’s true that there’s a bruise on her right wrist, and scratches on her arm. There also happened to be spray paint on her fingers on top of the blood.”
On top of the blood, I thought. That must be important.
“That’s it from here,” I said. “We should go find the others.”

“There was nothing in her room.” Kenji said.
“Yeah, but it looked very colorful.” Hisoka said.
I flushed. “Th-Then that’s it? This is it?”
“Time’s up!” The announcement said. We listened to the rest of it.

It was silent in the elevator. I blink away tears that were rising, and lifted my head. Kazuya’s portrait had chains in the form of an X and Akira’s frame was up too. Her face was straight, and an X was applied.
We all stood in our spots, awaiting for the class trial to begin.
