Chapter 3
I almost forgot about the breakfast meeting. Everyone looked blue.
"Don't worry guys," Hikari started. "As long as I'm here. None of you will die. I will make sure we become the best friends ever!"
Hopefully, I thought. The photos haunted me all night. How are we supposed to know if they're real or not? How do we know what's out there?-
"Akira," I heard my name. Hikari was looking at me. "Are you okay?"
"I just want all of us to stay together," I said. "But I don't know how."
"Don't worry," She said with a smile. "You already thought of the gathering. Now it's my turn. I'll get in my Ultimate lab to brainstorm ideas."
I smiled.
She turned to the others. "Let's eat!"

I decided to check out the fitness room. Maybe I should work out to pass the time. I started doing some sit ups. Haruto walked in. "Ah. There you are."
"You were looking for me?" I asked him.
"Just felt like getting to know you," He sat down. "I didn't know you like exercising."
"It's really easy." I said.
"And you do it fast too!" He said in surprise. "Did you know you went over 200?"
I froze. "Really?"
"Yeah," He replied. "But you probably did more than that before I stepped in."
"Am I a natural or something?"
"Maybe you're the Ultimate gymnast." He said.
That's right, I thought. My Ultimate is a mystery. A mystery I need to solve.

A few hours later, I spotted Mizu by the hotel looking upset. "Squashed flowers again?"
"It's pointless." He said, his head drooping.
"How about you tell me the types of flowers you discovered?" I asked him as I started picking up the mess.
His head shot up and his eyes lit up. "You really want to know?”
I nodded and he started cleaning up too, explaining about every flower he found and what they're like. It was fairly interesting and he seemed really excited to talk about it.
"Why don't you plant in your room?" I asked him.
"It has no windows." He said.
"It doesn't?"
He shook his head.
"We'll think of something," I assured him. "Just don't try planting anything for now.”
"Okay."

The sky got dark. I headed into my room. I hope Hikari thinks of something. I laid down on my bed, forcing myself to sleep. To sink into the oblivion. But I was still here. Here in this room. In this hotel. In this reality. Everything will be fine. I wanted to believe that. The more I thought about it, the more I started to believe it. Maybe It's because my brain was loopy. Or maybe it was trust. Trust in people I barely know. Seems like the only thing I could do now.
