She woke up and the first thing she saw was brick walls, torches and bars. Her mind instinctively told her she's in a dungeon. The corridor infront of the bars seemed empty and dark, even with the torches dimly-lighting most parts. And the flame? It was floating.58Please respect copyright.PENANAUNDykC0opS
She blinked several times. Yes. Floating. The flame floated on the torches.
She wanted to shout for help, to know where she was because for all she knew she could be in hell but she held herself. First, what if her captors was not human? If they wasn't she probably will ended up as dinner and she destroys her only chance to escape by alerting them that she's awake.
She hoped her father was here. And everything flooded back into her minds like a wave of tsunami. She was confined in some-dungeon and her father was dead. If only she could perfected her father time machine. If only she was a genius. Either way, Elena knew she was too late.
She took a deep breath and tried to stop her tears from falling. Perhaps if she do as her father had said, she could fix things and maybe everything goes back to normal?
"Okay... r-relax."
She stood up and walked to the bars. The corridor that passed through her cell and the corridor infront was desolated with no beings in sight. She was glad for that. She tinkered what would her father do in this situation. He could think in short amount of time, formulating logical theories and solution for inventions within seconds. She couldn't.
In the end, all she did was to sit on the floor.
She scanned around, wiping her face and eyes when something rang her ears.
Scented smell- something she didn't knew strucked her nostrils and faint footsteps. She hurried toward where she was laid before and pretended to sleep with her back facing the metal bars. Facing brick walls struck her as way too odd. Not something you often do in my world, she thought bitterly.
The footsteps neared and echoed until it reached her. Someone was infront of her cell.
"She still sleeps. Had the other kingdoms notified if their denizens became missing?"
"Yessire. They denied."
"Then she must came from another realm. And she must be eliminated before she wakes because she impose threat to Veloras. Prepare the beheading ceremony, we will held it tonight."
"But sire, the Prince ask for consideration."
"And I said no." The voice of the person sounded harsh, "She had to be eliminated."
"Of course sire." The guard paused a moment before his footsteps echoed throughout the dungeon, becoming faint until it was no more. Silence retreated back into the cell.
The breathing of the person continued, but Elena heard it was uneven. He sighed. "She could destroy everything."
Then his footsteps echoed too and disappeared soon after. Elena remained still, her heartbeat wild. They was human and that was a good new. Of course, that didn't matter anymore because something else dawned on Elena that she thought was way too weird to be coincidence; the breathing of the person and the way they spoke about her all pointed to one thing-
They was afraid of her.
And she counted her lucky star for realizing that because she had found what she was looking for. The source of darkness. They knew she was going to destroy it and would return everything back to normal. And now, she only needed to find a way out and end it once and for all.
