Chapter 4- Love Of Full Moon
Betty comes marching into the back yard, with a tray of goodies. "Hey you youngsters, It's dark now.” "Here is a slice of apple pie." "I thought I'll let you both have a piece now, so you don't have to wait until the festival." Betty handed Rob a plate and Susan a plate. She then put pieces of pie on each plate, with the pie spatula.
She then hands them a glass of milk each. "Just came out of the oven." "It's nice and warm." "Enjoy kids," Betty said, as she turned to go back into the house. Betty turns on the patio lights, that's beautiful decorated white angel lights that surround the whole patio. Rob and Susan are still sitting down on the chairs, in the middle of the patio. "Oh, my gods!!!" "This is yummy, your mom is a great cook and baker." "She is the best pie maker in town," Susan said. Rob stares very hard at the nightly view above the dark mountains. "Wow... a full moon is out and I love the stars."
"I remember as a child, me and my brother would lay on the grass on our back, to see if we could see a shooting star." "Plus the sky seemed so much bigger, that we felt like we were floating up." "We felt this way, every time we laid on our backs in the grass, while spreading our arms and legs wide." "We then felt free and relaxed," Rob said. Susan giggles, "ha….ha..ha." "What is so funny?" Rob said. "Rob Davis into the Stars and the Moon, Scenery and all?" 123Please respect copyright.PENANA3T9a3b7d65
"Wow... wouldn't have ever imagined," Susan said. "Well Sue, Smarty Pants, For your info, it just shows you that people change." "I'm not the same immature heartbreaker jock that I was in high school." "Get to know the guy that I am today and you won't ever look back." "I promise you that Sue."
Rob gets up out of his chair, turning to Susan, as he puts his hand out. "Madame, will you join me in laying in the grass, like I did when I was a child?" Susan looked at Rob with a smirk on her face and then she laughed. "I know it's silly Sue." "Ok, I'm not the crazy jock anymore." "I guess I still do have that kid in me, who still loves to lay in the grass and watch the stars."
'Susan stood up, holding his hand, as Rob led the way off the patio, into the green grass. "So let's lay on the grass, but first take a deep breath, and just let go," Rob said.
"So lay down on your back, and spread your arms like you are stretching on the grass, and then your legs too." 123Please respect copyright.PENANAxrdSMoKdfD
Rob and Susan both laid on their backs on the grass, side by side, as their arms and legs spread out, as they looked straight into the glittery dark sky, opening their hearts, letting go of their worries, going into peace. "How are you feeling Sue?" "Wow... "This is..." "This is very beautiful." "I noticed a difference in this, then sitting up watching the stars." "It's like the sky seems way bigger, and I feel like I'm floating up," Susan said. "See I told you," Rob said. "So Rob, Is there a special someone in your life now?" "I was with someone back in New York but our future plans didn't connect."
She didn't want to get married." "Yes, I did propose to her." "It turns out that she wasn't the one." Susan looked at Rob. "I'm so sorry," Susan said.
"No, it's a lesson learned for me." "I learned that it's important to know what the person is about and what they want in a relationship, before going further with that someone," Rob said.
Rob and Susan are still laying on the grass. Rob looks at Susan, turning his head towards her, as he touches Susan's hand. Susan felt so safe and comfortable around Rob. Rob has proved himself tonight, that he is a changed man. Susan doesn't see the mean jock from high school. Rob pulls her gently by her hand towards him.
They're both now very close to each other, and their foreheads are touching. Susan is looking into Rob's eyes, as Rob holds her in his arms, they both are still laying on the grass.
The reflection of the bright moon shines on Rob's strong features. Susan couldn't help but get lost in this shining night and Armor, as she felt like Cinderella. 123Please respect copyright.PENANAGcBufDt5Lb
"You are still so beautiful," Rob said, as he slowly tried to kiss Susan.
Susan turns her face away from Rob, she then sits up really fast, looking at her watch. "OH MY GODS, IT'S MIDNIGHT!!" Susan gets up really fast and rushes to the patio. She grabs the dishes and glasses, as she walks fast into the house. She runs into the kitchen. Rob walks fast behind her, into the kitchen. Susan’s back is facing him. She is washing the pie plates and glasses in the sink. "Susan I didn't mean..." Rob said as he saw Betty coming around the corner. Betty walked into the kitcthin.
"Mom, we didn't mean to wake you." "Rob is just leaving and I need to go home." "I have so much to do thos week." "Between getting ready for the festival and teaching classes," Susan said as she rushed out of the house. Betty looked at Susan with a confused look. Rob stood there in the kitchen with an ark-ward look. Betty follows Susan outside. "Slow down baby, you didn't wake me at all."
"I was just in my room readyng a book." "I was going to go out there, to see if you both were ok." "But I see that you both still have some unresolved issues from the past still," Betty said. "Mom, I wish you could have gone back out there." "I would have been saved by the bell," Susan said as she got into her truck. She turns the key, and then she backs out of her mom’s driveway. Susan rolls down her trunk window. "Mom, I love you."123Please respect copyright.PENANAJ4Adlr01vZ
"I'll be back tomorrow, so we can prepare everything for the festival." "Good night, kisses." Susan then drives away.
Betty is standing in front of her house, waving at Susan from afar, as Susan drives farther up the street. Rob walks out of Betty's house. "I now see how it feels to be turned down, years later." "I guess karma caught up with me now," Rob said to himself quietly.
"Well...Betty, thanks for a good day but unfortunately the end got spoiled," Rob said with a very sad look on his face.
"Dear, why don't we go back in and talk about it, over a cup of coffee," Betty said. "No thank you, But thanks for offering and thanks for the meal." "By the way, I loved the pie too." "I need to just sleep." "Thanks for the meal and the dessert," Rob said. Rob then walks to his car that's parked by the sidewalk, in front of Betty's house. "You don't have far to go right?" Betty asked.
Rob turned around, as he opened his car door. "No, my folks are just a few blocks from here." "Was planning on getting a hotel room but I decided to just only stay tonight with them." "Tomorrow, I'll rent a room in the hotel suite, at the Arts District." Rob waves at Betty. "Good night dear," Betty said. "Good night Betty," Rob said. 123Please respect copyright.PENANAk2bTflyZP8
