I walked to the building where the Dean's office was located and opened the door. I looked to the wall where the listing of offices and their numbers were, and I took note of where I needed to go. I quickly left the entry way and began to walk in that direction, I noticed the office seamed to be in the middle of the building. It struck me as slightly odd that the Deans office would not look over the campus so he could have an "eye out" so to speak but I shrugged it off and opened the door. I saw his Secretary sitting there and I smiled aa I walked in. When she saw me she spoke. "Hello there what can I do for you today?" "Hello there I am Stephanie White. I am a transfer student and I have some issues with my class courses this coming fall and I was told that I needed to see the Dean." The woman smiled and nodded pushing a button on her phone. A few short moments later I hear a mans voice and I could have sworn it held a very slight almost inaudible accent. "Yes, what is it?" "There is one of the transfer students here to see you. Some issues with class courses." "Aah yes, send her in." I heard this and for the briefest of moments found this rather odd. How would the Dean know I was a woman rather than a man. Perhaps there was some security camera. I quickly scanned the room but saw nothing. I bet he had one of her plants or something on her desk bugged. She motioned for me to enter the room and I walked over to the door smoothed my clothing and quickly tucked stray flyways behind my ears. I felt the cold knob in my hand and I turned it swung open the door and nodded to the man sitting behind the desk as I walked in and closed the door behind myself.
I noticed two other men in the room one seamed to have been rather ill recently. If I were to hazard a guess with my medical training I would say probably Chemo perhaps Cancer recently and with as pale as he was I would say he may be loosing the battle. The other man I will explain later why he was memorable. I looked at the Dean and he motioned for me to sit. I moved to take a seat and sat on the edge of the chair suddenly I felt very self conscious and my nerves were tying my stomach up in nots. The Dean smiled and said, "How can I help you?" I was still nervous and replied while my hands were slightly fidgeting in my lap, "I have received a letter stating that my courses transferred however, I noticed that I have many of the same ones on the list for this fall. I wondered if they did transfer and if they did may I sign up for different ones?" for some reason I did not feel all that easy in this room. I watched the Dean turn tohis computer and type out some information. He was quiet for a while then spoke to me. "Yes I see this is a problem. I have fixed it for you." He stood and walked over to the printer and waited for the paper to be spit out. When he was done he handed it to me. "Is there anything else I may help you with?" He looked at me oddly and I shook my head no and it was then that I noticed there were no windows in his office. I rose and smiled, "Thank you so very much for taking the time to assist me. I am sorry to have interrupted." I turned and was about to leave when the second man in the room stepped in front of me. He stuck out his hand and I looked at it. I had a feeling I should not be here but I took his offered hand and shook it. The touch of his cold leathery skin almost made me visibly shudder. "Nice to meet you Miss..?" "White.. Stephanie White. If you will excuse me I will be going to work now I am a bit late." "Good day then Miss white." I left and when I was almost home It hit me that the Dean knew exactly who I was without asking for my name. This day couldn't possibly get any weirder, I went through out the day and slept briefly again. I woke once again with thoughts of Mr. Parker and Mr. St. Clair on my mind. One cold shower later and I still needed some distraction. It was only two thirty A.M. so I put on my running things and headed out the door grabbing a bottle of water this time. I ran two miles around the area and then when I got back home I stretched outside and walked to the shop to take a look. I noticed some lights on but didn't want to disturb anyone working. I went home and took another shower. I let the warm water pour over my body and instantly was reminded of the dream. I could feel my own face flush with the thought and quickly turned to assessing the things I had to do today. For the life of me I couldn't understand why since I moved here, I was so drawn and attracted to several different people. It was almost as if they were somehow magnetic. I got out of the shower and went to the bedroom pulled out my clothing for the day and quickly put them on, Baking was the answer. It always calmed my nerves and put me back in perspective. I went to the kitchen and baked some chocolate chip cookies. I went down to the book store to drop some off around ten in the morning and was greeted by Lilly. "Hello Stephanie." "Hello Lilly. How are you doing this fine day?" "Well and yourself?" "I am doing great. I fixed my courses for next year and so with that I am doing really good." I handed her a covered plate of cookies. "Really I should look into it. I would like to go was even thinking about the veterinary school but I haven't applied and don't even have a schedule yet." "Oh well we can do that this afternoon If Tina doesn't mind you taking the time to go enroll and all that." I looked to Tina whom had come to stand behind Lilly. Tina smiled at us both and replied. "By all means just take the afternoon off Lilly. Get your schooling settled and then come back tomorrow." I came back after lunch and Lilly and I walked to the campus. We entered the admissions office and asked for an application. We quickly filled out the paperwork and handed it in. I waited for her patiently and encouraged her at every step. I am a firm believer that no one should throw away opportunity. She was informed that she could apply for financial Aid at the financial aid office then come back and find out if she was accepted and pick out her course schedule. I smiled and walked her out the door and over to the Financial Aid office. I explained where we were going and what the buildings were and even handed her a small campus map as we went.
We entered the building and she began to fill out papers and I waited again patiently. It was only two in the afternoon and we waited around for them to do what they could and we found out she was accepted to receive some financial Aid. She would find out the rest of the results in the mail. She began to look excited. I was very happy for her. We walked back to the Admissions building and when we entered the office they smiled and motioned her to come forward. She did so and as she did I got a text. I looked at it and motioned to Lilly that I was going to step outside for a moment. She nodded and went back to listening to the lady at the counter. I stepped out of the door and called Morgan. "Hello? Morgan?" "Stephanie, Hello. I am glad you called. I have a request." "I would be most happy to help if I can." "Great. I have this friend named Kayla whom I believe does not get out enough. I would like to see her get out with some women every now and then and just relax. Would you be interested in going out to dinner with us?" "Actually I am currently helping Lilly sign up for classes at Brown, would it be okay if she were to join us?" "OH that would be wonderful." She then rattled off the name of a restaurant and a time and I told her we would meet them there. I hung up and returned to the Admissions office and waited patiently for Lilly to finish. A short while later Lilly had her class courses picked out and they were printing her a hard copy of her schedule, I smiled at her and said, "Okay now that this is done and its about four in the afternoon. I will show you around campus quick then we will join Morgan for dinner she has invited us out. If you have nothing else planned that is?" I waited for her answer. "No, No other plans. That would be nice." "Great she has a friend whom she said need some female companionship. Morgan thought we would be good influence on her." I grinned and the lady behind the counter interrupted with the paper for Lilly, we took the paper and left the building. We took the next hour and I showed her where some of her classes would be. Then we decided to walk to the restaurant. We entered and I told the host we were to meet Morgan Williams-Anders. The Host smiled and lead us to a table where Morgan was already seated. "Hello Morgan" I smiled warmly at her. Lilly at my side also said hello a bit more quietly. We sat and after a few moments a tall lanky brunette walked in and sat down. She looked at us like we were a bit off and then smiled to Morgan. Morgan introduced us but dinner was so strange I barely remember much of the conversation we had. I remember looking at Kayla's plate and wanting to puke. The rawness of the meat she ordered turned my stomach. When I saw the blood I had to avert my eyes. All I could think about was the Salmonella poisoning. We ended our meal when I got a text from Mr. Parker. I told him that I would return to the shop shortly. I excused myself and asked Lilly if she wanted me to walk back to the shop with her so she could help Tina lock up. She said no she would be fine and I left.
I walked to the shop and entered the door seeing Samantha and Mr. Parker standing there talking. They stop and look up as I entered the room. I smiled feeling a bit nervous and trying to hide my nervousness I flippantly said, "You wanted to see me boss man?" I tried to make light of the fact I might have walked in on an intimate moment. Mr. Parker smiled at me and motioned for me to follow him while he showed me around. He then showed me a button under the counter. "Push this if your in danger and then don't move. It will release some Robotic drones whom will protect the shop and those within so long as you stand still. I could only think it was a bad idea. I kept my mouth shut computer operated robots creap me out slightly. I smiled and listened to him speak and when he asked me if I had chosen someone to work with me I replied. "Well there is this young woman whom works at the bookstore and she is going to go to school in the fall, at Brown .. I would like her to work with us. It might help her get some experience. She is going to be a vet but it would still help her and us in the long run." "Great Lets meet her." "she should be at the bookstore now." We left the shop I locke up and we walked to the Occult Bookstore just down the way and I walked in and just as Mr. Parker was walking in he got a text message. "One moment I need to make a call. I will get back to you." I smiled and waved him off then walked up to Lilly. "Lilly this is Samantha She works for Mr. Parker as do I. She is a bright and intelligent lady and Mr. Parker has decided to put me in charge of my own department. That being said I would like you to come work for me." After a few moments Mr. Parker walked in and he took it from there telling her they would pay for her to attend some general Emergency Medical Service classes and in the meantime she would be needed to answer the phone and forward it to my pager and file paperwork and the like. He said she would be paid well enough and even told her they had great benefits, I couldn't help but smiled at this. He was strait out and to the point. Mr. Parker then continued when she tried to protest by telling her they even had a program that would pay for her schooling. She couldn't argue that. She eventually accepted and we left the store. I went back to the shop excusing myself from Samantha and Mr. Parker with the excuse that I needed to make an inventory and some other paperwork and they nodded.
Two hours later I received a frantic phone call from Lilly. "Stephanie. Hurry I have been bitten by a huge gigantic dog." Instantly I switched to my professional mode. Put pressure on the wound and don't move. Give me exact directions to where you are and I will be there shortly. I picked up a small bag and closing the shop quickly ran to the campus where she had said she would be. I spotted her and ran up to her then helped her to sit down and I quickly assessed her injury. As I was cleaning the wound I called the campus security. "Hello, I am Stephanie White, I am part of the Emergency Medical Services here on Campus and for Mr. Parker. I am calling to report that one of the students has been bitten by a dog ..possibly a wolf." I gave them directions to where we were and as I was disinfecting the wound a Security officer came up. I spoke to him as I wrapped her wound. I informed him that I was concerned that if it were in fact a wolf bite that perhaps some drunken crazed college kids might actually harm the endangered species. I asked him to call the wild life officer and the zoo. He said he would handle it and he also mentioned he would make sure the animal was safe. I apologized for sounding rude. He smiled and stated that he understood and was also worried about endangered species like the wolf and would make sure it was taken care of. I got his name as Frank. I then called Morgan and asked her to prescribe Lilly some sort of medication to stop the pain and to help her sleep and I took her to the pharmacy to fill it and then took her home. I informed Lilly that I would be checking on her throughout the week, She thanked me and I left, I checked on Lilly for a few days and then one bright sunny day as I walked back from checking on her only a small medical bag in hand, not only did her life change but my life was about to be changed forever as well. 217Please respect copyright.PENANAkJKD6bF8h8
