Brooklyn
When I wake up, the sun is just starting to peak through the curtains. Luca and I stayed the night in separate rooms, but I find myself wishing that I wasn’t waking up alone.

I get dressed and head downstairs. When I reach the end of the stairs, Luca is sitting at the kitchen table.
“Hey, do you want some breakfast?” He asks.
“Yeah sure.” I reply.
He walks over to the counter and returns with a plate full of every breakfast food one could think of.

“I didn’t know what you liked best, so I had one of my chefs make it all.” He says as he sits the plate down on the table.

“Wow, you didn’t have to do all of this for me.”
“I wanted too, now eat.” He says playfully.
“So what are the plans for today?” I question.
“You tell me.” He says before taking a sip of coffee.
“This isn’t my island, mr.president, so you tell me.” I respond playfully.
“Mr.president? That has a nice ring to it. Well, I would like to go for a ride on my yacht. Would that be okay, ms. Jennings?”
“Why yes, mr. president that would be excellent.” I say and stand up.
“Great, got get you things and meet me at the dock.”

I walk upstairs and pack a small bag. I’m not really sure what to bring, so I bring my swimsuit and a change of clothes. After neatly packing my bags, I head out to the boat dock. A huge boat catches my eye. It beautiful amongst the vast blue ocean. Luca appears from the boat and welcomes me aboard.
“Wow, this is amazing, Luca.” This is way more than I expected, not that I’m complaining.
“You like?” He chuckles.
“Yeah.” I laugh.

He puts my bag in the main room and leads me out to the deck. He cues the driver to start the boat. It is beautiful. I can see for miles. There seems to be no end to the water, it looks to me as if it’s in line with the sky as far as the eye can see. Just when I think it is as good as it will get, Luca points to something in the water. Dolphins. A whole pack of dolphins are jumping out of the water and diving back in. This is amazing, I’ve never been this close to something so beautiful. I look over at Luca and see that he is just as taken by this scene as I am even though he’s probably seen the same thing a hundred times. He’s so handsome in the midday sun. He catches me looking, but I look away.
“Where are we going?” I ask to break the tension.
“Anywhere you want, Brooke.”
God, he’s captivating. His hair blowing in the salty air, he looks almost like a phantom of my imagination. This is proven wrong when he twirls me around and kisses my forehead.
“There’s just something about you Brooklyn Jennings.” He says, his accent thick as my name rolls off his lips.
How did my life come to this? How can someone be so amazing? This can’t be real life and it can’t be my life. Truthfully I’m just waiting for the other shoe to drop because this is too much like the movies and from my 19 years on this earth, nothing is like life in the movies.
